Samuel hesitated before he answered his mother's call.

"Hello, Mom."

"Samuel, how can you go behind your father's back to help the Roberts family? Your father has been trying to cripple that family for years, and now you succeeded in saving the Roberts' boss," Mrs. Stacey said, her voice calm but laced with annoyance. She was aware of all her husband's evil schemes that left the Kingston family on top of the pharmaceutical chart in their state and globally.

"Mom, I had no idea what you and Dad are talking about. I didn't give out any potent drug to anyone, and I don't know who Mr. Roberts is. The last potent drug I made is still under practical and hasn't been distributed to the market," Samuel said as he answered the call in the room.

John only looked at Samuel in shock, not knowing that Samuel was the secret genius that created the last potent drugs that were used to cure the paralyzed rats in the lab. Then why did the lecturers not announce Samuel? Was it because of his father's company, and they were keeping it a secret that Samuel was a bad boy, yet he was even a genius than Helen, the chubby nerd?

"Get home immediately, Samuel. You are my only son, and you need to explain to your father how you got to help that Roberts. Because there's no other genius like you. Come home immediately. I will send the driver to come pick you up," Mrs. Stacey said, her voice sharp and giving no room for refusal.

"Mom, we have exams next week. Can't Dad wait until after the theory exams are over?" Samuel asked, trying to control his anger. Because he didn't remember giving out any potent medicine to anyone. And there was no way that Chancellor Katherine would have given out the potent drug without letting him know.

It was only three bottles from the experiment that he used to create it. One was used on the lab rats the previous month and achieved a good result, while the remaining two were stored in the laboratory fridge and not yet tested on anyone.

It was a strong medicine and given like a drop, not to be exposed to sunlight.

"Mmmm..." Samuel grimaced and said, "Fine, Mom. I will be at home soon."

As soon as his phone call with his mother ended, John rushed to grasp Samuel's shirt and yelled at him, "Why didn't you tell me that you were the secret genius among us who created those magical medicines? And we all thought it was that chubby nerd, given how the lecturers like her."

"Shush. This is between you and me, John. You shouldn't dare to tell the rest of the students. If they know that I am a genius, they will be disturbing me, and I don't need that. I am here for a certificate and not to lecture anyone. Right now, I don't know who has stolen the medicine from the university lab, but my father found out, and he has frozen all my bank accounts."

As Samuel finished talking, he got a bank alert notification on his phone. All his bank accounts were frozen.

"I have to go home now. You know that no one messes with my father's company. He is set on bringing every other pharmaceutical company down, and now he is after me for helping his enemies. I didn't know how, and I have to run to see the chancellor. Excuse me," Samuel left the room after he wore his jacket back and rushed out of the men's hostel. He rushed over to the chancellor's office to find Mrs. Katherine Collins.

"Mrs. Katherine, I need to see you urgently," Samuel said as he rushed into the chancellor's office, even as the secretary told him not to.

"Madam, I tried to stop him, but he was stubborn and barged in here," the secretary said.

Mrs. Katherine closed her laptop and waved at her assistant. "It's fine, Mary. Return to your office. What do you want, Samuel?"

Samuel's expression turned frosty, and he asked, "The potent medicine for stroke that I created last month—my father found out that it was used on one of his rivals, and it worked. Who did you give it out to? And why didn't you ask me first before you gave it out? My father is now after me for helping his enemies?" Samuel asked, his voice laced with anger.

Mrs. Katherine's eyes widened in shock as she said, "I am sorry, Samuel. I had no idea that the person's father was your father's enemy. It's Helen Roberts. She has been downcast since this week and couldn't perform well in her practical exams. And I reached out to her to find out what was wrong. I got to learn that her father was sick, and she was worried about him, even though her father is in his early 60s."

"What?" Samuel's eyes widened in shock when he learned that Helen was the one who had taken the potent medicine.

"It was Helen?" he asked, a flicker of surprise crossing his eyes.

"Yes. I wanted to ask you, but it was urgent, as she said that her father could barely talk or recognize anyone. I had to give it to her first before asking you. I will pay for the medicine. Will that cover for the damage caused? How much did you intend to sell the potent medicine?" Mrs. Katherine asked, her voice full of concern and her eyes watching Samuel's face intensely.

Samuel scowled, as he had not expected to hear that Helen was the one who had gotten the potent medicine. He felt weak and couldn't reply. How had his fate gotten tied up with Helen? Now, her father was his father's enemy.

Samuel's phone rang, and it was his father's butler calling him.

"Master Samuel, I have arrived at the university parking lot to take you home. Your father insisted," Mr. Simon said.

Samuel gritted his teeth.

"Fine. I will be out soon." After the call ended, Samuel looked at Mrs. Katherine and said, "My father never fails to break his enemies and leave them in ruin. I will take the blame and inform my father that I am the one who gave Helen the potent medicine. But next time, do not give out any medicine that I created, even if the person is at the point of death and without my permission. Is that understood?" Samuel asked, not caring if Mrs. Katherine was older than him.

Mrs. Katherine had heard of Noah Kingston's ruthlessness. Even as he owned a pharmaceutical company, he was involved in politics too, and no one crossed him in the city.

"Yes, Samuel. I will not make that mistake next time," Mrs. Katherine apologized, but Samuel looked away from her and left the room. He went out to meet Mr. Simon.

"Master Samuel, your father ordered that I bring you home immediately," Simon said as a black Bentley was waiting to take them home.

Samuel gritted his teeth, knowing that his father was ruthless.

"Fine," he got into the car as two bodyguards waited for him to enter. Once he sat in the car, the driver shut the door after Mr. Simon got in the second front passenger seat, as the bodyguards followed behind them in another car. The two cars drove off.

Meanwhile, when Samuel walked into his room, he sighed, knowing that he had lied to his mother about his feelings for Helen.Samuel knew that his interest in Helen had piqued after he heard some of her colleagues laughing at her and calling her a virgin nerd. It was unexpected that a young woman of Helen's age was still a virgin. Why hadn't she had any boyfriend? It wasn't as if Samuel was a saint in that field. He had dated some female students, but he didn't take any of them seriously. He knew they were only after him because of his father's wealth. At the mention of the Kingston name in Avalon's City, most women wanted that influence, but Samuel knew that his mother kept a private life. She didn't brag online or show off to other women. Instead, she created an NGO page where she gave to the poor masses.Thinking about when his fascination with Helen began, Samuel sighed. He knew that if he didn't win Helen over, he would consider himself a failure. After all, Helen wasn't only a vi

"That's some good news," Rosemary replied to what her husband had said about considering keeping the funding for Helen's final year. But when she looked at her daughter's stern face, she sighed.Rosemary was aware that Helen had always wished to work at Roberts Pharmaceutical, and now the company was gone.Walking up to her daughter, Rosemary held Helen's hand and advised her, "Don't lose hope, Helen. Someday, you will build back Roberts Pharmaceutical, alright?"Breathing out heavily, Helen forced a tight smile and replied, "Okay, Mom."Helen felt better after hearing her mother's comforting words, and they went back into the house together.Later in the evening, Helen stepped out to have dinner with her parents, as her mother called her and told her that dinner was ready. When Helen walked downstairs to join her mother, she saw the living room door open and her older brother, Patrick, arrive.Patrick wore a yellow shirt and black trousers with a pair of black shoes."Good evening, B

When Helen arrived at her father's company, a multitude of staff members were seen protesting because her father owed them money."Pay us our money!" the staff yelled, while the hired security men tried to stabilize them."Calm down, everyone. The salaries for this month will be paid. But there will be no more employment, except for those that the subsidiary company wants to hire. This is not on me," her father said, standing at the front, and the noise reduced.Helen stood aside, and no one recognized that she was Mr. Robert's daughter. After promising to pay them, Mr. Robert dismissed everyone to return home and rest assured that they would be paid. One by one, the staff walked out of the company, while Helen slowly made her way forward to find her father, who was discussing with some men in black suits."Dad," Helen rushed over to meet him, and Mr. Robert frowned when he saw his daughter."What brings you here, Helen? I thought I asked you to stay at home?" Mr. Robert asked as he w

"So Mom, what are we going to do?" Helen asked worriedly, and Rosemary sighed."You don't have to worry about that. You've just arrived. You should go and keep your bag in your room first and greet your father," Rosemary said in a soft voice, and Helen forced a tight smile at her mother's words.Unable to control the emotions welling up in her heart, Helen walked up to her mother and pulled her into a warm hug."Mom, I wish I had the money to pay back and support Dad's company. Those scammers won't get away with this!" Helen cursed aloud as she hugged her mother firmly.Rosemary, a full-figured woman, furrowed her brows as she remembered the Kingston situation. Helen stepped away to pick up her bag.Rosemary cleared her throat and asked her daughter, "Helen, what about the Kingston's son who made the medicine that saved your father? Did you speak to him about it?"Helen's brows furrowed at the reminder of Samuel Kingston.Turning to face her mother, she forced a tight smile and replie

Looking at his phone screen, Samuel didn't know what to tell Tasha. He texted her back, saying, "Nothing. I am just looking out for Helen. Since she didn't know that she was trending."Samuel lied. Meanwhile, he was furious to see another man's hands on Helen's waist."What's wrong with me? Why was I jealous at the sight of them?" Samuel pondered, but he didn't have an explanation for his behavior either. He believes that he wasn't into Helen and she was only a bet. His bet, and he must be the first to get her.Looking at his phone screen, Samuel got a text message from Tasha again."Oh, I thought you came because you like Helen, and maybe you want to date her now," Tasha sent another message, and Samuel read it with a furrowed expression."No," Samuel replied."I am not into Helen Kingston," he texted Tasha, before dropping his phone.Samuel went back to his bed to sleep as he didn't want to discuss about Helen for the night again.*****Meanwhile, Tasha tried to send Samuel several

Helen was startled when someone dragged her away from the dance floor, where she was enjoying the music and having fun. She had decided to be like the rest of the students and enjoy the party, until someone dragged her away. When Helen raised her head to see who had dragged her out, she was taken aback to see Samuel Kingston standing in front of her, appearing furious."Samuel… I… What do you want?" Helen asked him in shock. She knew that ever since she told him that she had accepted to be his girlfriend, Samuel had avoided her and was angry at her.Samuel was furious by what he saw: how Helen allowed another guy, who wasn't her boyfriend, to grab her waist and rock her behind."What was the meaning of that?" Samuel asked, his tone angry."Meaning of what?" Helen asked confusedly."Am I not free to dance? Why did you stop me?" she demanded, subtly annoyed."You are not free to dance? And you let another guy touch you?" Samuel asked, glaring at Helen, and she frowned."What's wrong wit
