Amanda.
“Amanda!” I heard my name being yelled for what should be the twentieth time in an hour.
I dropped the broom in my hand and rushed in the direction of the voice. Once I got there, I bowed my head slightly.
“You called me?” I asked softly even though I wanted to do anything but that.
“Call me Luna, you idiot! And knee in my presence!” Tiana yelled at me. Her leg flew forward and kicked me squarely in the chest. I staggered backward and lost my balance, falling on my ass. The site hurt but I swallowed the whimper that threatened to escape my lung. I knew that if I didn’t, I would be getting another cane lashes like I did yesterday and the day before that.
“Lu-na,” I managed to let out.
It was at that moment that Alpha Zane walked in. I looked at him for escape, but he looked away, pretending like he didn’t even know of my existence.
How had I thought that this man loved me?
“Luna,” I said again. This time, with all the bitterness and hatred in my heart showing.
After the heartbreak I received that day from knowing that my boyfriend and my twin sister had gotten together to make a fool out of me, I got an even ruder shock of my life after Zane announced Tiana as his mate and Luna.
Tiana had called me out before the entire pack and declared that I was to be a slave. Even though gasps and murmurs had filled the room, no one could have set me free from her. The two elders who tried had gotten thrown into the dungeon on the claim that they dared to cross the words of the Luna.
My parents had stood there and watch without any remorse as my sister had made sure that I fit turned into a slave.
Ever since then, she made sure that I did all the dirtiest works in the pack. Amidst that, I had to make sure that I was always at my sister’s beck and call.
Hold on a second. Why was I still referring to her as my sister? After all the things she has done to me?
Even before this evil act, it was impossible for anyone to look at us and determine that we were sisters. Twins at that.
Apart from her evil heart and all, we were totally two different beings in looks and physiques.
Where she was a bit chubby and on average height, I was slim and tall. Where she had green eyes like our mother, I bore grey ones which changed with my emotions to either green or gold respectively. And while her hair was black and short and a bit wavy, mine was blonde and long and straight.
Long story short, we were both like night and day.
And one more thing, our parents treated her like she was the only child in the family and I was just her slave. Which was why I wasn’t surprised when they didn’t say anything when she turned me to an actual slave.
“Did you hear anything I said?!” A scream penetrated my ears, bringing me back to the reality of my situation.
“Yes… Luna?” I called out.
“I said that you should tell the kitchen staffs to stop work for today while you do all the rest of the work!” She barked at me.
What?!
If everyone left work, that meant that I would be cooking for over a thousand people all by myself. And I still had to clean the dishes and all.
“But-“
“—A second of delay and you will regret it for the rest of your wretched life!” She barked at me. Her hand went to the side and she picked up a heavy book beside her and flung it in my direction. The book hit my forehead. “Get lost!” She yelled.
I rushed out of her sight before she would either deemed it fit to add more to my task or to punish me for delay. By the time I got to the kitchen and relayed her instructions to everyone, I could feel their pity stared at me from behind as they all disappeared from the room.
Mentally preparing myself for the huge task ahead, I sighed and began with sorting and chopping the ingredients needed. Then proceeded to washing the plates while I left chicken on fire to boil.
I was still boiling the chicken and trying to hasten up with the washing when a smell assaulted my nostril. The urge to throw up came strongly, but I immediately beat my chest to calm myself down.
I sighed while wondering why I seem to always want to throw up after hearing some certain smell these past few days, especially when it came to foods I loved so much.
The smell came again and I sniffed out. Because I was resisting the urge to not throw up, my body began to sweat profusely. Still, I ignored the discomfort. I wasn’t ready to give Tiana the chance to find something wrong again.
Covering my nose with the hem of my top, I took a cooking spoon and went over to turn the food on fire. Or, I tried to.
The next thing I knew was the earth giving away under me. My eyes turned a million times before I felt my balance giving way and my body sagging.
That was the last thing I remembered.
By the time I came to my conscious self again, I found myself lying on the bed. The smell of disinfectant hit my nostrils and I had to fight another throwing up. I looked around and realized that I was at a hospital.
But how had I gotten here?
“Are you awake?” A voice asked beside me. I jerked to the direction and found Marie seating there. “You fainted.” She said with a bit of worry clouding her petite round face.
“Who…” I croaked out. I paused and cleared my throat before continuing. “Who brought me here?” I asked.
“We saw you on the floor and rushed you to the pack hospital.”
“Thank you,” I whispered to her. My face contoured with worry as I remembered the task Tiana had given me. Marie must have noticed because she squeezed my shoulder gently.
“We are covering for you in the kitchen, don’t worry. And no, the Luna has not yet asked of you or requested for your presence.”
I didn’t know when I let out a sigh of relief.
Before I could say any other word, one of the pack’s doctor, doctor Grace, walked up to us. I tried to sit up, but she pushed me down back very gently.
“You need all the rest you can get. Your body is weak because you are carrying an Alpha’s child and your wolf strength is too weak for it. Yet, you still work yourself hard.” She reprimanded gently.
“Wh-what are you talking about?” I asked, confusion written all over my face.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Amanda. I thought you knew.” The doctor replied.
“Knew?” My heart was already pounding hard in my chest. My mind was already wrapping around what her words meant. But, somehow, I didn’t want to believe them.
“You are pregnant, Amanda.” She finally dropped the bombshell.
AmandaThe moon hung low in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the battlefield. I stood at the edge of the clearing, my heart pounding in my chest. The air was thick with tension, and every nerve in my body screamed at me to run, to hide, to escape but I couldn't. This was it. The final showdown between me and Zane. There was no turning back now. I had to face him, to confront the man who had taken everything from me. I had to beat him once and for all.I clenched my fists, feeling the rough bark of the tree behind me digging into my back. I had to steady myself, to focus. The memory of Zane's betrayal burned in my mind, fueling my resolve. He had taken my family, my friends, and my home. He had left me with nothing but a burning desire for revenge. And now, it was time to make him pay."I know you're out there, Amanda," Zane's voice cut through the silence like a knife. I tensed, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. "There's no point in hiding. Come out and face m
ZaneAs I faced Amanda, I couldn’t help but marvel at the fierce determination that burned in her eyes. She moved with an intensity that caught me off guard, each strike delivered with a force that spoke volumes about her resolve. I had underestimated her, and now, as I struggled to keep up with her relentless attacks, I realized just how formidable she truly was."Is this all you’ve got, Zane?" Amanda taunted, her voice a mix of anger and sorrow. "Did you really think you could get away with killing Tiana?"I blocked her punch, feeling the impact reverberate through my arm. "It wasn’t personal, Amanda. You know how this world works."Her eyes narrowed, and she swung her leg in a swift arc, aiming for my head. I barely ducked in time, the air whistling as her kick missed its mark by inches. "Not personal? She was my sister, you bastard! You took her from me!"I couldn’t deny the truth of her words. Tiana had been Amanda’s estranged sister, and my actions had set off a chain of events
AmandaThe air was thick with anticipation, the kind that made your skin prickle and your senses heighten to an almost unbearable degree. I could feel it deep within me, an unshakeable certainty that Zane, with all his malice and wickedness, was heading towards our pack. This wasn't just a gut feeling; it was as if every fiber of my being was screaming out in warning. The battle we had both started long ago was far from over, and I knew that he was coming to finish it. My breath hitched as I considered the implications. Zane was not just a formidable opponent; he was ruthless and relentless, qualities that made him even more dangerous."Get ready!" I barked, my voice carrying the urgency of the situation. The warriors of my pack, loyal and unwavering, moved with swift precision. They knew what was at stake. "We cannot let him win. Not this time." My heart pounded as I watched them prepare, each one a crucial part of the defense that stood between Zane and our survival.Beatrice, my
Amanda As I lay on the cold, hard ground, my vision blurred and the sounds around me dulled, I fought to stay conscious. Each breath was a struggle, each inhale and exhale a battle against the pain that radiated from my stomach. It felt like I had been stabbed, a searing, sharp agony that consumed my entire being. My hand instinctively pressed against the wound, but I couldn't feel any blood, just an overwhelming emptiness. A hollow sensation that told me something, or someone, had been taken away from me."Beatrice," I gasped, my voice barely a whisper. The pain was so intense that it was hard to form words, but I knew I had to communicate what I was feeling. Beatrice was crouched beside me, her face a mask of concern and determination. Her hands moved swiftly, checking my injuries, trying to stabilize me."Amanda, hold on," Beatrice urged, her voice steady but laced with urgency. "You're going to be okay. Just stay with me.""No," I managed to croak out, shaking my head slightly.
TianaI stood on the balcony, my fingers clutching the cold stone railing. The moon cast a pale glow over the kingdom, a kingdom that was going into chaos because of my husband's actions. Zane, the man I had once loved, the man I had pledged my life to, was now a tyrant, causing havoc and destruction wherever he went. I had watched in horror as his ambitions grew darker and more twisted, and now I knew I had to stop him before it was too late.“This wasn’t what I bargained for? Why did he suddenly turn this way? I muttered.I turned away from the balcony and paced back into the chamber, my mind racing. I couldn't believe how far Zane had fallen. When we married, he was charming and full of dreams even though it was one to make my sister suffer but those dreams had turned into nightmares for our people. He had declared war on Amanda and her pack, accusing them of treachery without a shred of evidence. I knew Amanda and I was certain she was innocent. Zane's vendetta against her was pe
ZaneThe power coursing through me was intoxicating, a heady rush that made every nerve tingle with a sense of invincibility. I stood at the edge of the cliff, looking down at the world that now seemed so small, so manageable. It was hard to believe that not long ago, I was just another face in the crowd, another insignificant speck in the grand tapestry of existence. But now? Now I was a god, or at least something very close to it."Zane, you have to be careful," I murmured to myself, the wind carrying my voice away. I knew I was right. This power, this incredible, unearthly strength, it was a gift but it was also a curse if I didn't handle it correctly. No one could know the source of my abilities. If they did, they could find a way to strip them from me, to use them against me and I couldn't allow that. Not now, not ever."Zane," a voice called from behind, and I turned to see Riley approaching, her expression a mix of concern and curiosity. She was one of the few who had seen the
BeatriceAs soon as Zane broke free from the binds we had put him in, I knew we were in for total chaos. I watched from a corner, my heart pounding in my chest, unable to tear my eyes away from the scene unfolding before me. It was surreal, like something out of a nightmare. Zane had turned into something unrecognizable—a monster. His muscles bulged, his eyes glowed with a malevolent light, and an aura of raw power radiated from him. We had underestimated him, and now we were paying the price.Amanda stood bravely before him, her stance strong and determined. I could see the tension in her body, the resolve in her eyes. "Zane, you don't have to do this," she pleaded, her voice steady despite the obvious danger. "We can help you. Whatever you're going through, we can find a way to fix it."But Zane only laughed, a sound that sent chills down my spine. "Help me? You think you can help me?" he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. "I don't need your help, Amanda. I don't need any
Amanda Seeing Tiana within my pack after what we’ve promised ourselves was something I didn't expect. I mean, i expected to see her after the battle was over but now, seeing her now just told me that she and Zane might have had a plan to help him escape because i didn’t really see any reason why she was here. It just didn’t make sense.“What do you want?” I said, icily. There was tension in the area, that much I could tell. What I hated at that moment was not knowing the plan that she and Zane had. It made me mad because I knew that she didn’t just come here on her own volition, there was definitely something going on and I wanted nothing more than to know what it was. Tiana remained silent like i wasn’t talking to her which made me mad because it just meant that she didn’t regard me at all and she hadn’t put what was between us behind her.“For the last time Tiana, what do you want?” I asked again.I was slowly losing my patience and I knew that I would lose it if she didn’t tell me
ZaneI didn’t know whether to call it luck or being blessed but if there was one thing i knew, it was that things somehow worked in my favor. It had only been a stroke of luck when Amanda was called away and by no other person but my wife. Now, alone in the dank, dark place she had put me in, I knew I needed to do everything possible to free myself or else, when she came back, I would find it much worse. The last thing i wanted to be was to be Amanda’s bait, i was far stronger and bigger than her and i had the advantage but still, i knew i shouldn’t forget that she was an Alpha, far more stronger than any other normal wolf and it would be a hard time fighting her off but i knew that i could do it especially since i was very determined.“That won’t be easy Zane, stop fooling yourself.” I sighed.Amanda had made sure that I was tied so tightly that I had no room for escape. If i didn’t know better, i would have said that she knew i would try to escape hence the reason for treating me th
