Chapter 23 - Dominic

I couldn’t tell how many of them were down there but it sounded as though there were a lot of them. They crashed through the front door and started making their way through the house like a pack of rabid dogs, screaming and shouting as they moved from room to room.

“What are we going to do?” I whispered, my eyes darting around the room for a place to hide and coming back with nothing.

“We have to hide, there is no way that we can fight our way out of this pack.” Franklin replied, looking just as panicked as I did.

He opened a window then took hold of my hand and led me out of the room. He ran to the end of the hallways before jumping up to pull on a string that I hadn't even noticed was there.

It was difficult to spot and that was what Franklin was counting on, he was hoping that the werewolves would assume that we had fled through the open window rather than hidden in the attic. It was a long shot but what other choice did we have right now?
