If he chose Tiffany, his family might be furious, but at worst they would scold him for being an unfilial fool. If he chose his family, though, Tiffany would truly have nothing left.

"Not even a little blame?" she asked softly.

Raymond's reply was simple. "No."

When Sydney returned to her room upstairs, her mind lingered on that question. She had not expected Raymond to answer without hesitation.
