Chapter 540

Hearing that, Eliana shook her head. "I don't think so."

She went on. "Every time he comes, he helps me and Alan with chores. When I'm in the garden, he carries fertilizer for me. When Alan goes fishing out back, he hauls the tackle for him. I think that boy just can't let you go. He hopes Alan and I might speak well of him."

That last line was meant for Sydney.

Sydney pressed her lips together. "If he comes again, please tell me. I'll call him and ask him not to disturb you two."

She had assumed Caleb visited because he had something legitimate to discuss with Alan. Hampton Corp. worked on several pharmaceutical projects, so it seemed natural for them to have business to talk about.

She did not expect him to come only because of her.

"Alright," Eliana said with a sympathetic look. Then she shifted the topic. "Have you gone for your prenatal checkup recently? How's the baby?"

"The baby's fine." Sydney's expression softened into a smile. "We even heard the heartbeat last time."
