Chapter 2.

Vince’s pov.

She walked in like she owned the place.

My eyes went over her in one glance. 5’6” tall, redhead, perfect makeup, nice curves, but there was a hint of sadness in her eyes.

I could tell because I rarely got any shade of happiness around me.

She sat there drinking quietly and staring into space. For some reason, I could not get my eyes off her and the woman beside me noticed it.

“Vince, I miss you.” She said softly. “You should come to Los Angeles more often.”

I turned to look at her. “What does LA have?”

“Me.”

She reached out for my hand, playing with the tattoo on it. I knew what she wanted, but I did not feel like it today.

“Let me make you relax.” She continued. “We can go all night.”

“You know you never really satisfy me, Alicia.” I smirked, watching her face darken.

“I'll try, I will give it my best shot.” She said looking unsure.

I picked up three stashes of dollars and handed it over to her. “Not today, I really am not in the mood.”

She knew what would happen if I got upset, she knew me very well.

“Thank you Vince.” Alicia said as she stood up, from the VIP lounge I had rented out for just me.

My eyes went back to the redhead, that was hell-bent on drinking herself to death. She must have noticed someone was staring, because she turned around and our eyes met.

She walked up to the VIP lounge and sat directly opposite me and continued drinking. I could perceive the stench of alcohol on her. My men made a move to take her out but I signalled them to let her be.

“You really have some nerve, you know.” I said out loud to her, because of the loud music. “Can't you see that this space is reserved?”

“I do not see anyone, apart from the bad man talking to me right now.” She said.

“Did you just call me a bad man indirectly?” This night was definitely going to be an exciting one.

“All men are bad!” The drunk woman continued. “You are a man, so automatically that makes you a bad person.”

She poured the last drops of Captain Jack liquor into her shot glass and called a waiter to bring one more for her. That was her second bottle for the night, I had been observing her.

“I think you have had enough, you should head back home.” I said in a firm tone.

“Why?” She laughed out loud. “Because I'm a woman? Why don't you tell that to your fellow man?”

She pointed at a man who had gotten wasted, at the entrance of the club.

I shook my head. “Why are yo….”

“Shhhh.” She hushed me. “ You talk too much.”

My head was spinning at this point. I could not believe my ears.

“Be my therapist for the night, I'll tell you how I feel. All you have to do is sit there and nod like a good boy.”

I touched my pocket, feeling if my gun was still in the right position. She could be a spy from my enemy or a gang eyeing my position. There was no way I would let my guard down.

“Sure, how much do I get paid for that?” I asked, taking a closer look at her facial features.

 “$100.”

She looked proud and I almost laughed out loud, but one of my men interrupted us.

“Boss.” He stopped, but I gestured for him to continue. “There is no need to fly over to Russia, our men handled the situation.”

“Does that mean, I have tonight and tomorrow morning free?” I asked him, before focusing my gaze on her.

“Yes boss.”

“You can leave.” I dismissed him.

“Can we start the therapy session now?”

“Sure.” She looked upset. “How do you deal with someone you're engaged to cheating on you?”

“Are you paying me for answers too?”

“Haha! Someone is very greedy!!! Fine, I'll pay.”

“Kill them, but do it slowly. If you have the time, you should skin them alive.” I told her honestly.

Her eyes lit up, then dimmed when she processed it. “Do you mean that literally?”

“My clients interpret my words in different ways, do whatever works for you.”

“What if you've given your all to that person? Will you still skin someone who is with your heart?” She looked sad as she asked.

“I'll take my all back and yes, I'll skin them without thinking twice. I can't forgive a friend who betrays me.”

“You are a bad therapist! Can I change your job?” She was pouting after asking that question, making me wonder what was on her mind.

“Pay me first.”

“Humphhh!” She passed five hundred dollar bills to me. “Can you make me forget him for the night?”

My eyes twitched, I was certain she did not just ask me to do that.

“What?”

“Make me forget about that bastard that cheated on me, I don't care how you do it.”

“We are from two different worlds, I don't think we should be involved in any way.” I warned her.

“I can see and feel you.” She said, moving closer and running her fingers on my arm. “I'm pretty sure you can see me too, so what world are you talking about?”

She reeked of alcohol but still had a faint scent of lavender on her and the proximity between us was making my cock get hard.

“Are you going to pay me for that too?” I had no idea why I was asking dumb questions.

She smiled, revealing her pearly whites. “You like money way too much.”

“The world respects money.”

“I'm out of cash but I can get some more in the morning, unless you prefer a transfer…do you?” She asked, lifting her brows.

“No, I'll take cash.” This was spontaneous, but life shouldn't be boring. “How do I make you forget him?”

“Fuck me.” She barely whispered.

I smiled and pretended not to hear. “What was that?”

“Fuck me, handsome!!” Her voice was slightly raised now.

I thought for a split second. If I left her here in this vulnerable state, someone else would take advantage of her.

I picked up my phone and made a call.

“Make everyone leave, Phil.”

Iris pov.I stood in front of the mirror longer than I should have.“I’m not getting ready for anything special.” I whispered to myself. But, my hands kept adjusting my hair, smoothing my dress and stopping when the thoughts of my cocky boss come to mind.Every part of me knew this was a bad idea but yet, I was still standing there.“Where are you going?” Mike’s voice came from behind me and I froze for a second before turning around. He was leaning against the doorframe, watching me with a small smile.“Out.” I said.“Where exactly?”I picked up my bag, trying to act normal. “No where in particular, I just need some air.”“At this time?” He asked, stepping into the room.“It’s not that late.”As he walked closer to me, I could smell his cologne. It was the same one I used to like but now, it made me feel nauseated.“Did something happen at work?” He asked softly.“No.”“You’ve been distant lately, I can't help but notice it.”“I am okay, work has just been putting a lot of pressure

Vince's pov.I knew before she said it.That after the little confrontation we had, she will be back and willing to agree with my plan to join hands with her in carrying out revenge on her fiancé.Work continued normally for the day, with me giving instructions and commands in both worlds, as I handled my duties simultaneously.“I need your signature on these files, Sir.” Iris said as she held out some documents to me.“Okay.” “Your meeting with the Vice president from Fybel company has been moved to tomorrow. Same time.” She added.I did not bother looking up. “Thank you.”I knew she was on the brink, so it would be unwise to add to her troubles. We worked far into the night, after everyone else had clocked off. I heard a knock on my door and smiled. It was about time.Iris came in, fidgeting with her phone. “Are you free, Sir?”“That depends.” I replied. “What is the matter?”“Uhmm, the revenge plan you proposed.” She stuttered.“I am as free as the wind, if it relates to you.” I s

Iris povI did not know when my life became this complicated. One moment, I was planning a wedding with the man I thought I loved. The next, I was standing in my kitchen that suddenly felt too small, watching that same man unpack his clothes like nothing had changed.Mike dropped his bag on the couch and stretched like he had just come home from a long trip.“Finally.” He said. “It feels good to be here.”I forced a smile. “Yeah.”I felt nothing on the inside as I stared at him and that scared me, it would be better if I felt anger. He turned to me, walking closer. “You’re quiet.”“Just tired.” I said quickly.“That new boss stressing you out already?” He asked with a small laugh. If only he knew, what I had to go through everyday.I looked at him closely, this was the man I was supposed to marry in two months. The same man who had been sleeping with my best friend behind my back. The same man who was now moving into my house like he had every right to be here.“You didn’t tell me y

As the sound of her heels running in the hallway got to my ears, I smiled in satisfaction.I did not like it, but it was good to know I still had that touch to me.I picked up my phone and called Phil.“Hello boss.” His voice sounded over the phone.“Make the necessary arrangements, we might be in LA for a while.” I smirked as the words left my mouth.“Sure thing boss.” I ended the call.I went back home and tried to relax, but I could not get thoughts of Iris off my head. So, I decided to go back to the club to meet the little doll who always satisfies me.“Look who decided to pay me a visit today.” Alicia purred as she made her way over to me, away from the bustling crowd. “You are still in town?”“Business.” I replied.“You should come by more often then.” She said, closing the distance between us.Her hands began to trace my tattoo that was visible on my hand, because I had a short sleeve button shirt on.That was her signature move, I knew it. So, I wasted no time in kissing her.

  • One Night, Now He Wants Me.   Chapter 7

I did not believe him at first.Even as the words left his mouth, I stood there in my office, staring at him like he had just told me the most ridiculous joke.“I am a mafia boss.” Vince said calmly, like he was telling me his job title was manager or director.I blinked. “That is not funny.”“I am not joking.”I folded my arms trying to steady myself, as the room went quiet.“You expect me to believe that?” I asked.Vince walked around the desk and finally settled on my chair, while I watched him in disbelief.“I do not expect anything.” He said. “You heard my call. You were already thinking about it.”I shook my head quickly. “No. I just thought maybe you were exaggerating or talking about something else.”He tilted his head slightly. “Something like what?”“I do not know, maybe some business deals, shipping something legal.” I paused. “I was joking about you doing something illegal earlier on, but I guess the joke flew over your head.”His lips curved into a faint smile that made m

Chapter 6.Vince's pov.I could see the fear in her eyes.Iris looked mortified, like she had just seen a ghost or maybe heard one talk.Withing seconds I ended the call and thanks to my long legs, I was standing right in front of her in her office.“What did you hear?” I asked, with the hopes that she will lie and laugh it off.“You asking for someone's head and heart.” She said in a trembling voice, with her head down. When she looked up, the fear I saw from afar was replaced with curiousity. “Are you doing something illegal?” That question caught me off guard.“Is that what you think?” “Hmmm.” She clasped her hands together. “What are the chances of you being a surgeon then?”Without letting me answer, she continued. “A surgeon would not want a head, I mean what do you need a head for?”“Right?” She probed me further.Okay, I was intrigued. “You can never tell.”She walked out of her office and took a quick look at the right and left side of the hallway, to make sure we were alon
