AURORA’S POV

“It’s time to act, Aurora,” I said to myself.

Then I swallowed down every anger and reservations that I was having before the call. It was difficult, but I ensured that I pushed them down my throat until they landed in my stomach.

“Now, I am good to go,” I added.

Then I squared my shoulders, walked up to where Arlo and the waiter stood waiting, and I snaked my fingers around Arlo’s.

“Hey honey, sorry for keeping you waiting,” I said sweetly.

Arlo looked at me with clear shock in his eyes, and from the corner of my eye, I could see that the staff was turning to look at us, so I acted really quickly.

I kissed Arlo, although briefly, but it was surely on the lips.

“It was Eudora, and you know that I can’t ignore her calls or she is going to ruin this time for us with incessant calls,” I added.

Arlo was still too dazed to say anything, but then he wasn’t looking like a ghost had just kissed him.

I turned to the staff and said, “Shall we, please?”
