Chapter 1: Jessica's One Night Stand

Before:

Friend: "Jessica, you need to get out more. You're always working and you never have any fun."

Jessica: "I know, but my career is really important to me right now. I don't have time for a relationship."

Friend: "You don't have to be in a relationship to have fun. Just go out and have some drinks or dance. You might even meet someone."

Jessica: "I don't know, I feel like I'd just be wasting my time."

Friend: "You're not wasting your time if you're having fun. Come on, let's go out tonight and have some fun."

Jessica: "Okay, fine. But I'm not looking for anything serious."

After:

Jessica: "Oh my god, what did I do last night?"

Friend: "You had a great time! You finally let loose and had some fun."

Jessica: "I don't even remember his name. What if he's some kind of psycho?"

Friend: "Relax, you were both consenting adults. Just enjoy the moment and don't overthink it."

Jessica: "I don't even know how to contact him. What if I'm pregnant or something?"

Friend: "Don't worry, you can take a pregnancy test in a few weeks. And as for him, it was just a one-night stand. You don't need to contact him if you don't want to."

Jessica: "I guess you're right. I just hope I don't regret this later."

Chapter 1 (continued):

As Jessica was getting ready to leave the hotel room the next morning, the man she had spent the night with sat up in bed and looked at her with a smile.

"Good morning," he said. "I hope you slept well."

Jessica felt a twinge of guilt mixed with regret as she looked at him. She couldn't even remember his name.

"Uh, yeah, I did," she replied, grabbing her purse and heading towards the door.

"Wait, don't go yet," he said, getting out of bed and putting on his boxers. "I never got your name."

Jessica hesitated for a moment, debating whether or not to tell him. Finally, she sighed and turned around to face him.

"It's Jessica," she said.

"Nice to meet you, Jessica. I'm David ," he replied, extending his hand.

Jessica shook his hand briefly before turning to leave the room.

"Wait, can I at least buy you breakfast?" Alex asked, following her.

Jessica hesitated for a moment before nodding.

"Sure, I guess," she said.

As they walked to a nearby diner, Jessica couldn't help but feel uneasy. She had never been the type to have one-night stands, but something about David had drawn her in. Now, she was left feeling confused and unsure of what to do next.

Over breakfast, they exchanged small talk and got to know each other a little better. David was charming and easy to talk to, but Jessica couldn't shake the feeling that this was all a mistake.

When they finished eating, David walked her back to her car.

"I had a great time with you, Jessica," he said, smiling at her. "I hope we can do it again sometime."

Jessica didn't know what to say. She wasn't sure if she wanted to see him again or not.

"Maybe," she replied, before getting into her car and driving away.

As she drove back to her apartment, Jessica couldn't stop thinking about David and the night they had spent together. She had always been so focused on her career, but now she was left wondering if she was missing out on something more.

Jessica: (pauses for a moment) Honestly, I don't know. I've always been so focused on my career that I never really thought about settling down or starting a family. But after that night, something inside of me changed. I couldn't stop thinking about him.

Alex: (smiling) Well, it sounds like you may have found someone who makes you feel alive. Have you thought about trying to find him?

Jessica: (sighs) I have, but I don't even know his name. And even if I did, I'm not sure I'm ready for a relationship right now. I have a lot going on with my work and I don't want anything to distract me from that.

Alex: (nods understandingly) I can see where you're coming from. But just remember, life is short and sometimes you have to take risks to find happiness. Maybe it's worth exploring this connection and seeing where it could lead.

Jessica: (smiling) You always know how to make me see things in a different light, Alex

Alex: (laughs) That's what I'm here for. But in all seriousness, just think about it. You never know what could happen if you put yourself out there.

Jessica: (nodding) I will. Thanks, Alex. You're a good friend.

Alex: (smiling) Anytime, Jess.
