Chapter 5 His Mystery Woman.

The main event of the day ended without any further trouble and had left Ezra and Giselle feeling exhausted.

Giselle, who was dealing with a bad foot ache, didn’t try complaining when Ezra had assigned her the room opposite his. It was clearly stated in the contract so she expected nonetheless.

As soon as the brunette had taken off her engagement dress, she collapsed straight on the bed and dozed off.

Ezra, on the other hand, had things to do.

“Give me the list.” Ezra demanded with an outstretched palm, watching as Jubril hurtled towards his table, brown clip board in hand.

It was sometime close to midnight and the list of hotel check-in had arrived. Ezra was determined to get to the bottom of his suspicions.

“The staffs gathered all the list of guest that had checked-in the morning before you arrived. They even assured that the lost security footages would be recovered by next month.” Jubril reported, handing the clip board to his employer.

Ezra collected it, flipping it over to look at the list of names that had been complied. “Get them fired. Incompetent people like those don’t deserve to work at a place I own shares in.”

“Yes Mr. Heinrich.” Jubril bowed and was about to leave when Ezra spoke up.

“Run a total background check on Raquel Davis and Ethan Monroe.” He said as his eyes gazed passed their names.

“The eldest son of the Monroe family? May I ask why?” Jubril was cautious with his words, after all, he had worked with Ezra for a solid three years and knew how his temper was.

“No.” Ezra deadpanned while flipping to the next page. “Now go.”

“Yes Sir.” The black-ette took one last look at his employer before exiting. Ezra had never asked him to run background checks on people outside his business circle.

To say that was an odd behavior would be a little to small.

Ezra continued to look through the list, dragging his finger along the page as he did so. It wasn’t until he spotted the name he was searching for that his eyes darkened.

Giselle Cornwell.

It was writing there in the hotels fine literature style.

‘Ah, so she was there.’

Shutting the list close, Ezra threw it on the table, allowing the clip board to nearly slide off the other end of his table.

Now Ezra had no choice than to believe what his mind had been probing him to.

There was a ninety-nine percent chance that Giselle is his mystery woman.

The brunette sighed and pressed his two of his fingers on the bridge of his nose.

He didn’t regret anything he had said or done, but it just seemed like more trouble, at the same time less trouble.

“Forget it.” Ezra murmured and stood up, deciding to leave the matter until he had a more clear and rested head.

Stepping out of his study, Ezra approached his room, stopping briefly once his hand had grabbed the knob of his room door. For some reason he glanced back towards the opposite door, staring at it for a while before letting go of his door’s hand and moving towards the door.

As the knob twisted and the door came open, Giselle glanced back from where she stood, in front of her window over looking the garden below.

Her eyes first scanned the darkened side of her room door, as her only source of light was the night Light that she had left on beside her bed and the light wasn’t able to reach every corner of her room.

“Who’s there?” Giselle questioned, tightening the lilac colored robe around her body.

Ezra walked into the room, stopping where the light began.

“Oh, Mr. Heinrich, is something the matter?” Giselle’s asked, turning her body in his direction.

Ezra’s gaze trailed down her body. The lilac robe she was wearing wasn’t doing much in covering the black bra and lace underwear she had on.

Did she even know it was see through?

“Mr. Heinrich?”

Ezra examined her figure under the additional light of the moon. There was no doubt her body had similar features to that of his mystery woman.

Giselle felt small under his inspective gaze. She shrunk back and tightened her arms around her body.

“Lockwood hotels, what were you doing there six days ago?”

She blinked, flustered and startled by his question. Why was he suddenly asking such a question?

Giselle fiddled with her finger. She wasn’t about to explain how she had lost her virginity and watched her life crash, to a man whom she was in a contractual relationship with.

“N-nothing. I just paid a friend a visit.”

Ezra narrowed his eyes at the brunette who looked anxious.

“You paid a friend a visit? At a hotel?”

Giselle furiously nodded her head as she tried to remain calm, now looking everywhere but his face.

The fact that Ezra had suddenly asked her about that night, riled her nerves up.

“Yes. I-I went to ask for a favor.”

Ezra didn’t take his gaze off her face as she spoke. He could sense that she was nervous. The pauses in her speech gave it all out.

Giselle was too caught up in redirecting the conversation that she didn’t notice when Ezra had strode across the room, closing the distance between them and grabbing her wrist.

The brunette yelped.

“I warned you not to take me as a fool.” He growled. “Now are you going to keep lying to me?”

“L-lying to you?” Giselle tried to wriggle her wrist free but Ezra tightened his grip. “I didn’t lie to you. Now please let go of my wrist, Mr. Heinrich…”

“You checked in around nine-forty-three pm and checked out around two in the morning. What type of a visit is that?” Ignoring her current battle to get her wrist free, Ezra stepped in closer. “Except something else happened.”

Giselle’s was ready to flare out on him and snapped her head up, only to be startled by their close proximity. Her baby green eyes gaze into his hazel ones which were less than four inches away, she could feel each breath he let out.

Giselle’s breath ceased and her heart skipped a beat.

Why was he so close?

“What are you…”

Ezra spoke in a low baritone voice that sent shivers up her spine. “Your eyes say it all.” He said and with his free hand, he traced the moon tattoo on her neck.

Each place that had been traced by his finger left a burning sensation on Giselle’s skin.

Her body was reacting to his touch in ways she had never expected.

Leaning in closer, Ezra traced his thumb on her lower lip, the contact of her lip leaving a tingling sensation on his finger.

Giselle was totally frozen by his actions.

He wasn’t attempting to kiss her, right?

He had made it clear that he had no interest in her, that this was a loveless engagement. But yet he was doing all this?

Ezra’s leaned in further, so close that their lips were almost touching, and then he traced his thumb on her upper lip, feeling it as plumped as it was that night.

That night, after just one kiss, Ezra had developed a strange addiction for her lips. The velvet taste they carried was maddening and their softness drove him crazy each time he captured them in between his.

Ezra dipped his head and Giselle became panicked.

“Ezra, stop this…”

Her protest was cut short as his lips engulfed hers, swallowing her voice.
