LOGINChapter 3
Working with Liam The sun was high and bright when she woke up. She felt the surge of freedom herself. It was her sixth month of working as a personal assistant in glams enterprises. “It still feels like a dream, I get to work with one of the youngest C.E.O in town”Although it require much from her, Emily was determined. She dropped her laptop, ear phone, and wifi away, trying to push work out of her mind so much. Emily sighed “ If not for the pay and my love for being a career lady and the need to never have to be dependent on a man for everything. I would have resigned from my job”. She spoke to Rosie, who was laying like a log of wood on the couch. “You are kidding, right? I know how much you love to work apart from the fact that it pays your billls”. “You got me right there, but I wouldn't mind a prince charming at the moment who will make me forget that I have responsibility”. “ You will find your prince charming very soon, but for now, you have to elimate all forms of distraction and focus on building your life”. Rosie said, pointing at the piles of files lying down on her table despite it being the weekend. She sighed, seeing the tons of sales analysis and marketing to carry out. Emily doesn't need anyone to remind her of her responsibility as she picked them up and began to work on them. The next day was Monday, and Emily resumed work early that morning. She went over to his desk to drop his usual coffee and had completed all the tasks assigned to her. She didn't want to disappoint her boss. As she was willing to show him how dedicated she could be when it comes to work. “ Good morning Sir,”. He looked at her sternly and continued working on his computer, surprised that she was done with the work so soon. His other assistant would have come in with 1000 excuses why she was not able to do it. He was impressed but chose to hide it. “ You can drop the file, and I hope you did an excellent job”. How will she know except he examines it? He was a perfectionist, and she wasn't anywhere close to working with him. “ I did my best, sir. I have been up all night”. She wondered why he kept staring at her. “ What have I been paying you for, I don't think you should be complaining, this company pays their workers adequately for the work they delivered” He said coldly. “The only thing I expect is for you to perform your job diligently” “Okay, sir”. “How many times have I told you not to call me Sir, but Liam”. “ I don't think it is professional to call you by your first name sir”. She looked at him. Why is he being so paranoid? I only told him so he could resonate with me that I have the company’s best interest at heart. He was the opposite of everything she prayed for. “And while you are at it, get all the documents needed for my presentation today for the company's annual meeting” “ Yes sir”. She replied, collecting the files he handed down to her . “ Now, get to work and finish the report before 3am”.He said firmly. “Okay, sir” She hurried off to her office. As much as Emily loved working with Glams company, her boss Liam is beginning to be a thorn in the flesh. He hardly sees her effort nor acknowledges it. Emily sighed deeply and tried to pay attention to her assigned duty. “I hope this job is not the end of me” Emily screamed to the wall, wishing they could hear her and answer back. Having gone through the material, Emily heads to his office to deliver them. She knocked, and there wasn't any response. He should be in one of his meetings, but he has ordered the report to be dropped on his desk before 3 am. She checked her watch and it was 2:49am. “Thank goodness," she exclaimed”. She proceeded to do as she was instructed. But unknown to Emily, Liam walked in and startled her. She fidgeted while dropping her work. “Hello sir” He looked at her with no response. She ignored his cold demeanour and continued speaking.“I dropped the report on your desk, you can check it out sir”. This time, he was ready to speak as his gaze looked at the reports. “Okay, I will check and get back to you, if there is any error, I will let you know” He responded, oblivious of the fact she was standing right next to him. Her heart began to race. What is with this feeling? Emily touched her heart to see that it was racing fast. There is no room for any feelings, work is work” she reassured herself as she took a thorough look at the new marketing strategy draft she had finished working on. She smiled, feeling impressed by the work. This is surely a masterpiece, and Liam would be more than satisfied that he hired her for the job”. Emily was sure about that. “ I can't let anything happen, and I won't let it happen, I have to keep things strictly professional despite the odds”. Emily said, adjusting her shirt properly. She wasn't even his kind of woman. He has meant beautiful and classy ladies, and I won't ever matter not in this world or the next. He was every woman's dream and would certainly settle for the best and nothing more. I'm a little clumsy girl. He deserves better” “Why does it always seem complicated when he is around? “Emily picked her phone to dial the taxi driver's number. It was 5am, and she had a long day as she proceeded to shut down her system, and after carefully arranging her belongings, she headed home and called it a day.Chapter TwentyLiam is a JerkEmily returned home, knocked on the door, and Rosie hurried to open it. Emily pushed the door and entered the room, slamming it behind her.She collapsed onto the couch, dropping her bag to her right with a quick gesture. Her palms were soaked with sweat.Rosie stared at her; a wave of panic washed over her when their eyes met. She set the book she had been reading on her lap.“How was the party? I hope you had fun? You don’t look relaxed. Are you okay, Emily?” Rosie asked, firing several questions at once.Emily felt her heart pounding in her chest. “I wish I could be, but I drank too much. My God, it’s such a disaster. I still can’t believe this is happening to me. What did I do wrong?” Her body began to tremble.“Breathe deeply. Whatever happens, we’ll get through this together. What happened?”Her emotions exploded at that moment.“How did I end up in this mess?” she shouted as Rosie approached and grabbed her arms.“Tell me something, what’s the prob
Chapter NineteenI Can’t Believe I’m PregnantEmily arrived just in time for the celebration. It was a reception for the teams from Glam and Graham, with both CEOs present: Liam and Mr. Rodrick. Emily smiled, filled with a sense of accomplishment, as she entered gracefully, her charm catching everyone’s attention.“Congratulations, Emily,” Mr. Rodrick said, approaching to acknowledge her work.“If only you weren’t employed by your boss, who happens to be my friend, I would have been delighted to consider you for my own company. It’s been a pleasure working with your company to make this possible. I’m truly thrilled,” he added.“Thank you, sir. It was a team effort; we succeeded together,” Emily replied.“I see your humility is as admirable as your competence,” he added, shaking her hand with such firmness that she wavered slightly. She tried to pull her hand back, but he seemed insistent.“All is well. We both rose to the occasion for this project, and the results speak for themselves
Chapter EighteenSuccessEmily opened her phone and saw a notification from the Skype news station. It was everywhere:“Coco Pops has reached the top spot as the best-selling cereal on the consumer market, while families enjoy a nutritious breakfast every morning,” announced the journalist.Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. She screamed from her room and ran through the house looking for Rosie. She finally found her in the kitchen, baking as usual, her hands covered in flour.“What’s going on?” Rosie asked, noticing the excitement written all over Emily’s face.“You won’t believe what just happened! The project I told you about the last time, the one that was weighing so heavily on me… it’s finally launched on the market, and it’s a huge success,” Emily said, overflowing with happiness.“Rosie, I can’t believe my ears. It worked, and it comes with a raise and a bonus from my boss and his partner. This will give us more money to pay our bills,” Emily added, beaming.“I’m so happy
Chapter SeventeenThe New ProjectThe next morning, Emily opened the folder Alice had brought to the office.“I have work to do. I can’t believe I’m here worrying about the past,” she muttered to herself.Although the work was challenging, responding to Graham’s proposal was the most important thing for her, and she couldn’t bear the thought of losing her job.Emily’s phone rang, and she glanced at the caller before answering. It was Liam. She sighed deeply.“What does he want this time?”— “Good morning, Miss.”— “Emily, come down to my office. I have something important to discuss with you—it’s urgent.”— “Alright, sir. I’m on my way,” she replied, giving the document one last glance before heading out.— “I want to finalize the discussion regarding our upcoming projects. I have an important meeting with a client next week, and I think you would be perfect to lead this project.”— “Your dedication and attention to detail have not gone unnoticed.”— “Thank you, sir. I’ll give it my b
Chapter SixteenProfessionalismThe next day, Emily entered the building and headed straight for Liam’s office to bring him his usual coffee and present the day’s schedule. Once that was done, she quietly slipped away. She wasn’t ready to face him yet. She froze as she heard his voice behind her.“What happened last night meant nothing,” he said, looking her squarely in the eyes as she turned her gaze to a corner of the room.“My God, why does he keep staring at me like that?” she whispered. “These eyes will be my downfall.”“As long as you continue to do your job well here at Glam’s Enterprises, I am willing to work with you. What happened last night is entirely your fault: you couldn’t control your desire for your boss. Do you always get carried away this easily with everyone you meet?” he said coldly.“I expect professionalism at all times. It must never interfere with work. You need to put everything behind you and focus on the well-being, growth, and development of Glam’s Enterpr
Chapter FifteenMemoriesThe memory made her shiver—not from shame, but from the pleasure he had given her.My God, it had felt so good. She couldn’t deny it.But that morning? It felt as if it hadn’t meant anything to him.Emily paced her room, wrapped in a silk robe, the phone still clutched in her hand. She glanced in the mirror: her skin still bore faint traces of him. A bruise on her collarbone. Red marks on her thighs. Her face was a mixture of regret, confusion, and… desire.“Can someone explain why I’m lying naked in a hotel with my boss?” she asked, to no one in particular. The room remained still. Silence prevailed. Every word she spoke echoed back at her.“Oh my God… this can’t be what I think, right?” she gasped, shocked.Tears streamed down her face, her heart shattering into a million tiny pieces. He stepped out of the bathroom. He didn’t give her a glance, grabbed his clothes, and began getting ready.“You should hurry and get dressed. Checkout is at noon, and I’m not r
