Evelyn's POV

When I woke up, it was already 8:30. Crap! Totally broke my 7 a.m. morning run streak. And of course… all thanks to this man. God knows how we ended up going all the way until 5 a.m. last night. Honestly, I think I passed out from exhaustion in the end.

I only planned to do it once… after all, it’s cheating.

His hand was still on my chest. I shoved it away and tried to get up. But my legs were like jelly. Didn’t make it—plopped right back onto the bed. That little bounce woke him up.

Groggy, he sat up behind me and wrapped himself around me like some sleepy koala. My shoulders must’ve looked like leaves to him, ‘cause this koala started nibbling my neck and shoulder.

I shoved him off. He lazily propped himself up, watching me get dressed.

“Already leaving?” His voice was rough from sleep… ridiculously sexy.

“Oh, are we supposed to have breakfast together too?” I rolled my eyes.

“Don’t mind me. Maybe we could… try something else,” he said, eyes sliding down shamelessly.

It was hard to connect this with the cold, dismissive guy who rejected me before.

“I wouldn’t mind giving you a taste of my slap,” I teased, wiggling my hand at him.

He paused mid-smile. “I wanted to ask… you wearing a ring while cheating?”

“That’s the fun part, isn’t it?” I shrugged. Sleeping with a married me somehow makes it less complicated for him.

“Fun? Is your marriage that boring?” he asked.

That question? Totally unnecessary. I didn’t owe him an answer.

I got dressed and glanced down at his underwear on the floor. God, just yesterday that tiny little thing wrapping him up… wow. My mind immediately cooked up a crazy idea.

“Hey… what brand are these?” I asked, picking them up.

He smirked. “Oh? You still care? Planning to buy a pair for your husband?”

“Bingo,” I winked.

“You’re serious?” His pupils went wide.

Absolutely serious. Revenge time.

My husband used to shower me with expensive bags after he cheated—gifts for his guilt. I could basically count his affairs by the bags in my closet. Pathetic, right? I know. I was pathetic.

So now, every time I cheat, I buy a pair of underwear in the same brand as my mistress. And the day I divorce him? Oh, I’m gonna tell him. Gonna make him puke.

I checked the waistband: Zimmerli. Perfect. Dropped it back on the floor.

“Thanks,” I said, walking away without looking back.

At this point, I still didn’t know his name. And he hadn’t asked mine. Fine by me.

Back in my room, Maddie showed up. Today’s our last holiday day. Afternoon, we pack up and head home.

“How was it?” Her eyes were sparkling.

“Honestly? No morals… feels amazing.”

“Ha! Who asked about that, you bad girl! I meant the guy—big? Skilled?”

“Well… my hole’s still having aftershocks. Tomorrow? Forget my morning run.”

Yep. His skills… damn. Even thinking about it now, I’m wet.

“Enjoy being a little bitch! You were way too vanilla before,” Maddie blew me a kiss.

“Sebastian said the same. Maybe that’s why he cheated,” I muttered, half-joking.

“Nothing justifies cheating. Don’t blame yourself.”

“But I’ve got a revenge plan,” I grinned.

“Oh? Do tell.”

“Well… I’m gonna get Sebastian the same underwear as Stallion.”

“Pfft—” Maddie sprayed her wine, coughing. “You’re such a clever little devil!”

“Hey, he cheated and gave me a bag every time. Just looking at my closet now feels like an insult.”

“That jerk! Listen, just giving him underwear isn’t enough. Post it on I*******m! Caption: 1/8! And when you divorce him, spill it all—let him know men aren’t the only ones who can cheat!”

“Crazy—but I love it!” I grinned.

So I uploaded a photo of Lake Como with: 1/8 ✅

Twenty minutes later… Sebastian liked it.

Maddie couldn’t stop laughing, and she even commented below: “To be continued…”

The thrill of revenge was buzzing through me. Never felt so… alive.

While we were chatting, I opened my laptop and searched for Zimmerli—

“Wow… this brand, huh? This guy’s got taste,” Maddie leaned over to peek. She’s a luxury brand heiress, knows this stuff inside out.

“Crap! One pair costs over a hundred bucks… seriously, should I spend this much on Sebastian?”

Sure, Sebastian’s family is rich, but I’m not. Even married to him, I still can’t get used to fancy people prices.

“Buy it! Only something pricey will make him realize—there are tons of guys richer and hotter than him. Cheap stuff would just slap you in the face!”

So, I bit the bullet and ordered it. Next day delivery.

Then we got giddy, plotting who #2/8 in my revenge list should be.

“Better be a doctor. He got himself a nurse, after all. Wonder if it’d feel different on an exam table,” I giggled.

After the plane landed, Sebastian was at the airport to pick me up. We kissed—me like the perfect wife, him like the perfect husband.

On the way home, I was still basking in my little revenge glow… until he said:

“Babe, I’ve got a party tonight. Won’t be able to have dinner with you. Oh, and I got you a new bag—LV, the latest. You’ll love it.”

And just like that, my smug little victory went up in smoke.

That means he’s off to cheat again.

Evelyn's POVWith four people suddenly squeezed into Julian’s not-even-that-large living room, the apartment instantly felt smaller, louder, warmer—like the air itself had shifted into something dangerously social.Dean had already turned music on somewhere. Not loud enough to overwhelm conversation, but rhythmic enough that the bass hummed softly through the floor and furniture, giving the whole apartment the atmosphere of an improvised afterparty that nobody had technically agreed to host.

Evelyn's POV“Your housewarming party,” the pierced guy announced proudly, shaking the bag of alcohol in his hand like he was delivering a heroic contribution to society. “Frank literally just got off a flight and I dragged him straight here. Tell me that’s not friendship.”“I don’t remember agreeing to host a housewarming party,” Julian replied, sounding deeply tired in the specific way people only sound around longtime friends. Not annoyed, though.

Evelyn's POV“Why?” I looked up at him before I could stop myself.“Because she doesn’t believe they were prepared for her,” he said quietly. The words sounded less like an answer and more like a sigh he’d been holding in for a long time, threaded with something dangerously close to self-mockery.“Well… that’s possible too,” I said awkwardly, suddenly unable to speak smoothly anymore. “You are kind of too good at this whole charming-people thing. Maybe don’t treat all your hookups so well. She might misunderstand.”The moment I said it, I regretted how bitter it sounded. But Julian didn’t look offended. If anything, his gaze softened.“Then I hope she misunderstands even more,” he said steadily, taking another small step closer. “Enough that one day she finally admits she likes me back.”His voice was low.Certain.And the closer he got, the more impossible it became not to notice the warmth of his breathing, the calm intensity in his eyes, the terrifying sincerity underneath all the

Evelyn's POVHe glanced once at the screen, almost like he was waiting for a line of dialogue to pass before answering me, and only then slowly turned to look back at me. The timing of it made him impossible to read. I couldn’t tell whether he had genuinely been thinking about the question, or whether he simply enjoyed letting certain moments linger a little longer than necessary.“Didn’t I already tell you?” he said at last. “They’re for the person I like.”The answer came out so naturally that it almost startled me.No hesitation. No awkwardness. No attempt to soften it.As if this were the simplest thing in the world to admit. My fingers unconsciously tightened slightly against the sleeves.“But you said she hasn’t fallen in love with you yet.”“Not yet,” Julian replied easily, leaning back into the sofa with the kind of calm confidence that somehow suited him far too well. “Sooner or later, I’ll win her over.”Then his eyes flicked briefly toward the clothes I was wearing before r

Evelyn's POVAnd there I was, still standing barefoot in the warm fog of his bathroom with my fingers resting against impossibly soft fabric, when a thought entered my head that was neither calm nor dignified. He said he was single. So then… who exactly were these clothes prepared for?The answer that appeared first was also the one that immediately made my chest tighten.Maybe they were for one of his hookups.Honestly, that explanation made perfect sense. Julian had slept with plenty of women before. He had never pretended otherwise. And he was the kind of man capable of separating sex from emotion with terrifying ease. Even if there was someone he genuinely loved somewhere in his heart, he could still calmly sleep beside other women, kiss them, play the role of a lover flawlessly if the situation called for it.I looked back down at the neatly folded clothes in my hands. The fact that everything had been prepared so carefully somehow made the thought worse.Because this didn’t feel

Evelyn's POVRight then, fragments of dialogue from the movie drifted faintly through the bathroom door, softened by distance and the steady sound of running water.Thank God.I desperately needed something to distract me from my own thoughts. So I kept washing my hair while listening to Nick and Judy awkwardly stumbling their way through couples therapy, arguing in that ridiculous, lovable way only they could. Apparently they weren’t the only partner duo in desperate need of psychological intervention either—their coworkers clearly had enough emotional damage to start an entire support group.Somewhere between the ridiculous dialogue and the familiar rhythm of the scenes, I felt my shoulders slowly begin to relax.I seriously loved this movie.I found myself unconsciously mouthing along with certain lines from memory while rinsing the shampoo from my hair, right until that line came through the speakers—“The safe word is coconut.”The sentence arrived slightly muffled through the do
