LOGINGabriel’s POVThe helicopter came to a stop on the rooftop of the estate. I was getting suffocated in the tiny space. I stepped out first. The cool night air hit me as I walked through the door to go down in the living room with Dex following closely behind. I couldn't stop thinking about her. ‘What is she doing? Is she ok?’ all those thoughts flooded my mind at once. I know she isn't missing but why can't I find her. I just want to see her again and talk to her.I walked inside without waiting for Dex, my footsteps echoing through the silent halls. A few servants looked up in surprise from how I was walking fast. They greeted me softly, but I didn’t slow down. I couldn’t afford pleasantries tonight. I just wanted to be alone for a while. As I passed the library, I caught sight of my mother standing near the window. Her posture tenses as her eyes spotted me.“Gabe…” she started but I cut her off.“Please save it. I can’t deal with this right now, Mom,” I said gently but it weighs. H
Bella's Pov “Richard we found out daughter,” she broke down and I started crying as well. “She really is our daughter,” she added.“Oh my gosh,” she sobbed. “It’s you. It’s really you.”I pressed my free hand over my mouth as tears spilled down my cheeks. Lissa wrapped her arms around me, holding me steady as my whole body shook.“We’ve been looking for you,” the woman continued, trying to steady her voice. “Every day, we have never stopped. I'm so happy.”“I didn’t know,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “I’m sorry.”“No,” Richard said firmly. “You have nothing to apologize for. You were a child. It's my fault for not watching you properly.”The woman sniffled and said “I’m Eleanor, your mother.” The word mother echoed painfully in my head.“I already have a mom,” I said softly, guilt overtaking me instantly.“And that’s okay,” she replied quickly. “We’re not here to replace your family. We just… want to reunite with you and get to know you.” I nodded even though she couldn’t see me
Bella's PovI tried to sleep but it wasn't coming. I picked up and stared at my phone for a long time after Lissa’s breath evened out and I knew she was asleep. My mind wouldn't rest. The words just keep replaying in my head over and over again.“Isabella Powell,” I whispered. That name felt so strange. It's like I'm learning all about my life over and over again. I turned on my phone and searched for the contact number. “Powell Residence” stared me in the eyes. My thumb hovered over it hesitatingly. ‘What if they don't believe me? What if I'm not the person they expect me to be? What if everything I worked so hard for goes down the drain when I call them?’ I thought, allowing my thoughts to run wild.I exhaled shakily and locked the screen. I pressed the phone to my chest trying to steady my heart beat.“You’re hesitating aren't you?,” Lissa mumbled sleepily, with her back still turned to me.I froze at the sound of her voice. “Were you awake this entire time? I thought you were sle
Gabriel’s Pov“Hi son,” my father said, walking towards the table smiling and my blood is boiling with rage.“Don't call me that. Who gives you the privilege?” I sneered. “Don't be like that. I know I haven't been in your life for 20 years but I'm here now am I not?” He said sarcastically. I looked at him. Really looked at the man in front of me to see if he really had the audacity to be saying that to me. I stood and slammed my hands on the table startling the Thompson family who was sitting down watching the drama unfold.“You think you can just walk out of my life for 20 years and just appear when you want to and expect me to accept you?” I said glaring at him with my chest heaving heavily.“News flash I'm not some push over. I'm not like my mom, someone you can give sweet words to and she tells you everything I've been up to,” he’s looking at me shocked like he wasn't expecting me to say that. “If it wasn't for you threatening me with Bella I wouldn't even have to be staying her
Bella's Pov“What is it Mom?” I asked, concerned.“You see… the necklace you have, it's a family heirloom. We found out only three people in the world have a piece of it,”she said, still nervous.“Do you know who those people are?”“Yes I do. It turns out you have 2 older brothers. They are the only people that have a piece and I found an article from 5 years ago,” she said. “It states that they are searching for their younger sister who has been missing since she was 5 years old,” she added.“Do you know the name of the family?” I asked, nervously. “Does the name Powell ring a bell?” “Not that I can think of but I know they are the number 1 richest family in San Diego followed by the Rinaldi Family,” I said.“Aunty T, if I'm following correctly. Are you saying that Bella is the missing daughter of the Powell family?” Lissa asked, surprised. “Thee, Isabella Powell that has been missing for 15 years?” She added, getting excited. I looked at my mother, shocked waiting for her to answe
Gabriel’s Pov“Mom, answer me. What are you talking about? Why is this your fault? Did you do something?” I asked, getting impatient. “I'm sorry son. Your father called me yesterday asking me how you're doing and I told him about your love life,” she said. I didn't even know what to say.“I'm so sorry son. I didn't know this would happen,” she said, sobbing hard.I wanted to hang up the phone and crash out but I have to hold it together. ‘How could she do that and she knows we don't have a close relationship’ I thought.“Mom, he hasn't called since he walked out on us 20 years ago. Why did you give him that information? He doesn't care about us,” I said, feeling pain building up in my heart.“Mom, I have to go. I have to cool down and clear my mind. I will talk to you soon,” I said, and hung up.I rest my head on the staring wheel for a few minutes before driving off. I took out my phone and called Dex.“Dex, can you start up my helicopter?”“How do you even know I'm at your place?”
