The midday sun shone brightly against Elaine's face, making her squint into its blinding lights but she didn’t try to move away because she loved it here.

She loved the sound of the water whooshing beneath her feet, liked the way the water slapped against her ankles and the back at the pool walls; the loved the peace and quiet, and the occasional sounds of birds chirping away in the distance,

…but most of all, she loved the tasty goodness of the champagne’s flavour bursting against her taste buds and how each sip seemed to taste differently from the last.

She brought the glass of champagne to her lips again and held her breath, thinking about how peaceful it was.

She enjoyed it.

She thought about Mary too and her blatant show of resentment towards her and also thought about mystro and Jude, the people who were bent on making her life a living hell.
