LOGINJenifer’s POV I immediately stood up when Apollo caught Astrid. “Astrid!!” I shouted, worried about my best friend. I wanted to cry, but I held it back—being surrounded by handsome guys, it would be embarrassing to cry here, especially since I still have a runny nose. “Let’s get her to the clinic!” Apollo said in alarm. He quickly carried Astrid while Mico rushed to the garage. I already knew Boss’s companions since they often talked and I listened in. I hurried to Apollo’s side and looked at Astrid’s face, now covered with red spots. This always happens when she eats squid. “Why didn’t you tell me she’s allergic to seafood?” Sir Apollo asked me. “You didn’t ask,” I replied, which made him curse because of my answer. Well, it’s true. He never asked me if Astrid was allergic to seafood. He placed her in the car and they sped off. I rode with Brix and we followed them to the clinic where they brought Astrid. “Are you okay?” he asked me. I forced a smile and nodd
I was smiling widely ever since Brix’s confession. I wasn’t mad at him anymore because now I understood why he was always trying to get my attention. But suddenly, I froze when I realized—he’s only known Jen for one day, so why did he suddenly have a crush on her? “Oh my G!! Why didn’t I think of this? What if he’s just messing with my best friend?” I exclaimed, then ran straight to our room. It was already 5 in the afternoon, so I knew she’d be asleep. I quickly went to our room and searched for Jen’s cellphone. Luckily, she was asleep. From: 09 Hi beautiful, you know you caught my attention. My eyes widened when someone suddenly grabbed the phone I was holding. “Who’s this?” she asked, rubbing her eyes. “I-I don’t know, your phone just rang,” I said with a forced laugh. “Maybe it’s my secret admirer!” she said happily, then replied to the message. I tried to snatch her phone back because I didn’t want her to be played with, but she was so insistent. “What’s w
Jen and I were already in our room. We had a separate room since we were the only two girls, while the rest were all boys. I fixed myself up and put on short shorts because I wanted to explore the island. “Are you coming with me?” I asked Jen. “I’m so tired,” she replied. “You’re so lazy” I teased, then fixed my hair. I told her I’d just go out and wander around to ease the stress I was feeling from our companions. Brix was being super attention-seeker, and it was stressing me out. I went outside and walked along the shore. There was no one else, so I had the whole beach to myself. When I got tired of the sea, I stood up and headed to a big house. It was noisy because there were many kids. “Hello,” said a chubby boy who wasn’t joining the others climbing the guava tree. I sat beside him and smiled slightly. “What are you doing here?” I asked. “Just watching. I’m not allowed to play because Mama said I have a heart disease,” he said. My forehead furr
I slowly opened my eyes. “Hey, bes,” I immediately heard Jen’s voice. Tsk, I still wanted to sleep. I didn’t get enough rest—what is this? “Hey! What’s wrong with you? We’re here already, and our boss is transforming again into his monster self!” Jen exclaimed, so I finally opened my eyes and wiped my mouth. “You’re so noisy,” I complained as I fixed myself. “You took so long! There are so many handsome guys outside waiting for you, it’s super embarrassing,” Jen said to me. I frowned at what she said. I didn’t even know that there were so many of us going on vacation today. I went down and followed Jen, but I was shocked to see the people I didn’t want to see—even if they were handsome. “Oh, hi Astrid,” a man said. He looked familiar, but I couldn’t place his name or where I had seen him. “I guess you didn’t remember my handsome face,” he said with a wide smile. “You’re right,” I simply replied. “Brix,” he introduced himself. I thought for a mome
My whole body ached after what happened, and I didn’t get proper rest because I kept thinking about who Apollo really was. “Bes, your eye bags look like Pacman punched you, they’re that dark,” Jen said, laughing. I didn’t pay attention to her because I was spaced out, still wondering why such a thing happened. How rich must they be to be chased by people with bad intentions? As far as I know, only those with big companies and fame in business have enemies like that. “Hey, are you okay? You’re not even talking, your breath will stink even more,” Jen teased. I sighed and finally gave her some attention, worried my saliva might go stale and she wouldn’t be able to handle the smell. “I was just thinking why someone would chase our boss last night, and why they wanted to kidnap him,” I said to Jen, deeply troubled. “Hey, that’s not our problem. Your problem is your job. Let’s go, we still have to cook for our boss if he got hungry he will become a lion ready to attack us.” Jen
I don’t want to stay here any longer because of the monster of a man we’re with. All day his face was poker straight, not saying a single word. I don’t know what’s going on in his head right now. I can’t think of anything to do, so I just follow whatever he wants. “Bestie, you’ve been quiet for a while,” Jen said. I’ve been noticing that man in black up there, his whole face covered. I sense something bad. I went closer to Jenifer and whispered to her. “Where?” she asked. I pinched her—she’s too obvious when she talks like that. “Just act dumb, what’s wrong with you,” I told her. “I’m nervous,” Jenifer replied. I rolled my eyes. Is this really the first time she’s encountered something like this? We’ve been in these kinds of situations since high school. “You always encounter this kind of danger. Why are you nervous only now?” I told her. “Well, whenever I’m with you, this always happens,” she said. I just chuckled. I saw the show starting because the camera
