We just deemed that the car would be safer for Ace to drive when going to school" Lander tried to convince the triggered man. 

"Mr. Vaughn, we don't have millions to buy luxury in life, I taught my three children to strive and work harder if they want something luxurious in their lives because we cannot afford it as parents. I'm so sure that you already know even the smallest details about our family. So I assumed that you are all aware that even the bike that Ace has now is from his pocket, I can only afford the food that he eats, the bed that he slept in, and the university. Nothing more than that, so owning a million-dollar car would really create an uproar for everyone. It brought my family to a shame
