LOGINViola's POV
"Alpha, when did you get those tattoos?” I asked again as I shook Alpha’s body a little harder. Alpha, who had his eyes closed a moment ago, slowly turned to face me. Maybe he was quite surprised by what I had just done. I felt guilty because I should have let him sleep to rest after a long day. I could see the shock on the Alpha's face. He couldn’t stop looking at me. He looked me over from head to toe. "Who are you?" The baritone voice sounded so loud and booming in my ears, making my body feel stiff. I stood still for a few moments, staring at the man who was now under the same blanket as me. How could he not recognize me? "Alpha, I'm your Luna. Don't you recognize me?" my voice trembled, as my confusion grew. I took the Alpha by the shoulders and directed his body to face me. Our eyes met, and I hoped to find some answers behind that cold stare. He just looked at me with slightly raised eyebrows, as if I was a stranger to him. "Luna? What the hell are you doing? I'm not even married," he replied in a flat yet firm tone. My heart ached as if it were being sliced by a rusty knife. How could he say that? We had just said our vows tonight, under the full moon. I could feel the mate bond between us, the bond that strengthened each Alpha and his Luna. But why didn't he remember any of that? "Alpha Edward, I am your Luna, Viola. We just got married earlier tonight. You can't have forgotten that, right?" I asked softly, begging him to remember the memories that should still be fresh in his mind. His face did not change; it remained calm, like still water, and there was no hint of recognition in his eyes. He even chuckled, a laugh that was not friendly at all. "Don't talk crap! I'm not Edward, I'm Evan, the Alpha of pack Bloodwind!" My eyes widened. My body moved backward, along with my racing heart. I yanked the blanket up to cover my half-exposed chest. "Evan?" "Yes." This is impossible! How could my husband claim to be someone else? I was certain that he was Edward, my husband, the Alpha of the Winterblood pack. I knew every inch of his face, every movement of his body, and I couldn't be wrong. But that look in his eyes, that tone of voice, it all felt foreign. But one thing left me even more stunned. I looked again at the tattoos on his muscular arms. I was again shocked and saddened because, from what I remembered, Edward did not have any tattoos on his arms. "This... This has to be a joke, right?" my voice was almost inaudible. I hoped there was a logical explanation behind all of this. I wanted him to explain everything. However, he just looked at me with piercing eyes. "I don't know who you are but don't ever claim to be my Luna again. I don't have a Luna, and I've never been married. All this time I've only slept with bitches that I paid to satisfy my desires. So if you're that bitch, you'd better get out of my room now or I'll fuck you again!" he added coldly, dismissing me coldly, choosing to close his eyes again. His words made me even angrier. He had indirectly insulted me and called me a bitch. Angrily, I pulled the blanket off Evan's body tightly. “Damn it! You were the one who came into my room and asked to sleep with me! Now you better get out of here, because this is my room. And you're in my palace!" "What the hell?" Evan got up and approached me on the bed. We were still both undressed, and there was only a blanket covering both of our bodies. He looked very angry as he approached me. Without warning, Evan suddenly grabbed my neck. He was strangling me! "Don't ever blame me, if you also enjoy playing with my body! I have the power here because this is Bloodwind's palace. Bitch!" "You... You’ve got it all wrong. This is not your palace, but Edward's Winterblood palace!" I argued in a choked voice, as I could barely breathe due to Evan's strangulation. "What?" Evan widened his eyes, and I could see a very clear look of surprise on his face. All of a sudden he released his grip on my neck, then pushed me onto the bed without care. His face was suddenly panicked, and before long I saw Evan get up from the bed. He hurriedly got dressed. "Oh shit! I entered the palace by mistake. I have to leave quickly before Edward comes." I heard Evan muttering to himself. I got up slowly, as my body felt weak after being strangled by him. "Hey, where are you going?" I shouted when I saw Evan open the door to the room. "I'm leaving. Forget everything that happened tonight!" He ordered sternly. "Wait!" However, Evan had already left my room just like that. I got off the bed with the blanket wrapped around me. I was furious at the way he treated me, he didn’t even apologize to me at all. "I don't know who that jerk is. But I really can't accept being treated like a bitch by him. He didn't even apologize to me for what he did." Overcome by feelings of anger and resentment, I wanted to chase after Evan and hold him accountable. But just as I was about to open the door to the room, the door suddenly opened from outside and a man appeared who looked surprised at me. "Viola, what are you doing in this state? And where are your clothes?” The man's voice surprised me. I immediately looked at my body, and there I just realized that my body was currently naked.Chapter 45 Evan's POV Silence in a werewolf hall is never truly silent. It breathes. It watches. It judges. The great stone hall of Nightclaw felt exactly like that as I stood there, no longer Jack the stable hand, no longer hiding behind dirt and rough fabric. My aura had already betrayed me. The golden glow in my eyes had told the truth before my mouth ever could.Alpha Bloodwind.Mate.Father.Every single pair of eyes in the hall burned into me. Warriors shifted uneasily. Omegas held their breath. Elder Harry stood rigid beside his daughter, protective and calculating. And Viola…She looked at me like I had shattered something sacred.“You lied,” she said. Her voice was not loud. It did not need to be.It cut deeper than a blade.I did not look away. I had faced rogue alphas, war councils, and territorial bloodshed. None of it compared to the fury trembling in her eyes right now.“Yes,” I answered.A murmur rippled through the hall.Alpha George stepped forward, Ethan still in h
Chapter 44Viola's POV He said he was not leaving again. As if it were that simple. As if words could erase years of silence. As if a single vow, spoken in the middle of my pack’s hall, could mend everything he had broken.Evan stood there with Ethan in his arms.My son.Our son.The truth hung in the air, heavy and undeniable.Nightclaw’s warriors had not lowered their guard. The scent of Rogue blood still lingered on the stone floor. Torches flickered against the high walls, casting long shadows over faces filled with suspicion.Alpha George stepped forward, his presence firm and controlled. “Enough. This discussion will not continue in the middle of my hall.”His gaze locked onto Evan. “Alpha Bloodwind, you will explain yourself. Now.”Evan did not flinch. But I saw the shift in him. The warrior receded slightly. The alpha remained. He adjusted Ethan in his arms carefully, supporting the small body with surprising gentleness. Ethan, traitor that he was, nestled comfortably against
Chapter 43POV EvanSo this was how it ended. Not in strategy rooms. Not on a battlefield lined with my own warriors. Not under the banner of Bloodwind. But in the middle of Nightclaw’s great hall, surrounded by enemies, with Rogue blood still staining the stone floor.Alpha Bloodwind disguised as a stable hand. The Rogue’s words echoed long after he stopped speaking.Every pair of eyes turned to me.Some widened in shock. Some hardened in suspicion. Some burned with fury.Alpha George’s aura rose instantly, heavy and commanding. It pressed against my skin like invisible chains. A warning. A challenge.Viola stood several steps away. Her face had gone pale. For a fraction of a second, I considered denying it.One lie. One more mask. But there was no point. The Rogues had already torn the truth open. And more importantly, she had seen it. She had seen the gold in my eyes. She had felt the bond ignite. There was no hiding from her.The Rogue who had exposed me smirked. “Looks like your
Chapter 42Viola's POV I do not know which was louder. My heartbeat.Or the vibration of the Bloodmoon’s energy as it suddenly shifted direction.Jack was kneeling at the edge of the ritual circle. His hand clawed into the earth. His shoulders were rigid. His breathing came fast and heavy, like a man trying to contain something far greater than his own body. And his eyes…Gold. Not a reflection of torchlight. Not a trick of the moon.Pure gold.An alpha wolf. The air around him trembled. I could feel it even from where I stood at the center of the circle. The moon’s energy, which should have descended straight into Nightclaw’s land, now seemed drawn toward him.No.Not drawn.Challenged.“Jack!” one of the guards shouted in shock.Alpha George rose immediately, alert. His leadership aura surged on instinct, pressing down on everyone around him. “What is happening to him?”I did not answer.Because I knew.Or at least… my body knew. The bond. That invisible thread I had long felt only
Chapter 41Viola's POV I could still feel the cold edge of the blade against my throat when everything changed. The night air stabbed into my lungs. The smell of wet soil and blood mixed together, clinging to my senses. A moment ago, I had been certain it was the end. I had felt the thin slice across my skin, the warmth of my own blood trickling down. The Rogue had even smiled in satisfaction. Then, in a single blink, it was over. The Rogue holding me hostage dropped heavily onto the damp ground. His head struck a tree root. His eyes remained open, but there was no life left in them. And the man standing before me was Jack. The dark-faced stable hand with rough clothes, a beard that shadowed most of his features, and the constant scent of hay clinging to him.For a moment, I could only stare. The world seemed to slow. Crickets resumed their song. The wind stirred the leaves overhead. But my heartbeat only grew louder. He stood tall. Blood dripped from the sword in his hand. His shoul
Evan's POV My chest rose and fell faster, not from the run, but from a realization that came too late and struck far too hard.Viola.Her name felt like a direct blow to my head. All the pieces that had felt wrong since this afternoon suddenly fell into place. The pressure in my chest. Jacob’s unnatural restlessness. Ethanis crying without any clear reason. The faint scent seemed to call to me without a sound, stirring my deepest instincts. She has been here all this time.So close. While I was busy denying it, cutting off contact with my family, and insisting that I no longer cared. I buried her name, locked away every memory of her, and forced myself to believe it was all over.It was never over.I forced myself to focus. Emotions could follow. Regret could come later. The battlefield does not wait, and one small mistake could cost her her life.I studied the narrow gap between the rocks carefully. Eight Rogues. Two are guarding the northern side, one near a fallen tree, while the
