60. Loved Ones
A few hours passed since Captain Nankor sent Dominik to get some sleep, and he was surprised that he wasn't already trying to disobey him and check a third time the whole crew of the ship.
He was happy that he could make sure all his crew was healthy, but the guy was going to the extent of the irrational.
That's why Captain Nankor decided to go and do a round on the cabins and see that he was indeed sleeping, not helping in the kitchen or rearranging a tenth time the small space that was the consultation room.
He was surprised that he didn't see Dom in any of those places. Was it possible that he finally was sleeping?
Captain Nankor approached the cabin and slowly pushed the partially opened door when Lazar came from behind.
"Hello Captain, can I be of help? Are you looking for something?"

Captain Nankor sat at the table, beer in hand, and talked to Domi. Both of them celebrated the recovery of the younger man, since he looked like a human being again. Captain Nankor paused for a moment. He was visibly affected when he took a big gulp of his beer and then let it rest on the table again with a loud thud. Dominik, and the others around that were hearing the story braced as it seemed this part was going to be hard...Aisha's favorite color was turquoise, it combined perfectly with her skin and her eyes. The third round of beers was served at the table. Captain Nankov was about two thirds on the telling of his very own love story to his new friend Dominik after they were done with their dinner, which consisted of crispy cod with sauteed fresh local vegetables, straight from the market, almost as a celebration of their arrival to Sicily.That stop, where they had been for the last ten hours, marked a little more than half of their trip, and certainly a change to safer waters, which would make the trip faster too.Little by little the other crew members joined the storytelling, until they were surrounded by the whole crew.It was likely that the rest of the ship heard the story a few times already, but that was a good story, and a sailor's story, about sailing and love.

Dominik laughed and held his beer up. The story that the captain was telling had a happy ending, and, even if it ended with a small threat, it gave him hope that at some point he might successfully find his pretty girl. Captain Nankor could easily see how Dom’s eyes shone brightly, and wondered how his mood had been changing so much since they left Burgas. There was no way in which he could be communicating with her between ports, so how was he getting suddenly depressed or incredibly happy because of his lady? It seemed to occur between his sleep periods too. “Maybe it’s all about missing her, and being at sea just amplifies it… Some people are not made for that,” Nankor thought, but still, in the back of his mind stood always the feeling of ‘this is the last trip,’ because he could hardly continue to stay away
