Only the Man I Choose Can Become Don

"Have you made up your mind?" Lamond, the current Don of the Catani family, gave me a stern look.

I nodded without hesitation. "Yes, Lamond. I've decided to marry Marco."

In the previous timeline, I chose to marry Luca, whom I had loved for years. Thanks to that, he became the Catani family's successor. Little did I know it would become the decision I regretted most.

So, as soon as I realized I had been given a second chance, the first thing I did was to approach Lamond to change my choice.

Lamond stayed silent for a while. "The engagement party will be held in three days. You will announce your decision yourself."

After leaving his office, I intended to return to my room. However, when I turned a corner, a small pebble suddenly flew at me and struck my ankle.

I frowned and looked over instinctively. It was from Luca, and he was surrounded by his gaggle of lackeys.

When Luca took a look in the direction from which I had come, he scoffed. "Did you look for Lamond again? You can't even wait for a single day to marry me, Elina?"

The moment I saw his face again, I could not help but remember everything that had happened in the previous timeline, and I felt a sting in my heart.

I did not want to say anything else to him and just wanted to leave as quickly as I could.

But Luca walked over and blocked my path. "Elina, I'm talking to you. Didn't you hear me?"

He stood in front of me and looked down at me. "Or is this another one of your tricks to get my attention?"

His lackeys surrounded me as well, laughing mockingly.

"You finally got smarter. You're pretending not to care and playing hard-to-get. But everyone in the Catani family knows that you're hopelessly in love with Luca!"

"That's right! She must have gone to see Don Lamond to talk about the engagement party scheduled in three days. She's already so eager to marry Luca!"

They laughed some more after that.

Everyone knew that I had been pursuing Luca for five years, and was eagerly waiting for the day the two of us would be engaged. His lackeys always made fun of me for this.

I had already heard similar words plenty of times before, and I did not know how many times I had endured their mockery.

I pursed my lips, and just as I was about to say something, I heard someone chuckle.

"Don't say that." Cecilia appeared in front of me with a fake smile, and her eyes wandered to Luca. "This also means that Luca will become Don Lamond's successor very soon."

The lackeys quickly retreated to open a path for her. She stood beside Luca and gave me a challenging look.

"Why are you here? You're unwell. Didn't I ask you to rest in your room?" Luca's voice immediately turned gentler.

Cecilia immediately put on a fragile appearance and said with teary eyes, "You're about to marry Elina, and I'm worried."

Luca comforted her. "We grew up together. Even if she becomes my fiancée Even after she becomes my Donna, I won't just ignore you."

His lackeys cheered.

After he finished speaking, he turned to me again with annoyance flashing in his eyes. "Elina, stop bringing up your late father in front of mine and using that connection to pressure me into marrying you. I already told you that I would marry you."

"I did not do that. I was just confirming my final choice with Don Lamond," I explained.

But Luca just gave me a disdainful look.

"You'd better be. Since you're about to be engaged to me, I'm going to give you another reminder: all I can offer you is marriage and the position of Donna. Don't even think about interfering with anything else."

After a brief pause, he whispered, "I believe you've already learned your lesson."

I snapped my head up and stared at him in disbelief.

But after he finished speaking, he left with Cecilia and his lackeys.

As I watched them leave, I slowly calmed down.

So Luca had been reborn too, with his memories of our previous life intact.

Unfortunately for him, he had no idea I wouldn't choose him this time.
