“Smack—”

Diego lifted his eyelids, closed the watch case, and stepped forward to grab Briella’s hand.

He wrapped her in his arms from behind, his slightly cool face resting against her ear. His gaze was both tender and obsessive.

“Briella, I never meant to drag you into this… but now that you're here…”

His chillingly cold eyes fell toward the doorway, where the noise outside was growing louder.

Briella caught a whiff of cold bamboo and cedar at the tip of her nose. Her ears tingled at the sensation, and her mind began to clear. The bloodshot haze in her eyes slowly faded.

Before she could react, Diego tightened his grip on both her wrist and waist, forcefully pulling her aside, only to seize the chairman by the neck instead.

Briella steadied herself, frowning slightly. “What are you doing—”

“Bang—”

The door burst open.

“You're seriously annoying. Why are you following me again? I'm only tolerating you because of Briella—don’t push your luck. You’d better stay far away from me!” Audrey flicked on her car’s signal and pulled over to the side of the road. She opened the door and stepped out, glaring with visible irritation at the car trailing behind her.The car behind stopped as well.Philip tightened his grip on the steering wheel. His usual laid-back demeanor was replaced with rare seriousness. He got out and stared at her, walking forward step by step. There was something unreadable in his eyes.“Moonbeam…”“Enough!” Audrey cut him off sharply. “What Moonbeam? I told you—I’m not her. My name is Audrey!”There was a flicker of anger in her eyes. She didn’t know why, but she absolutely loathed that nickname.Moonbeam—it stirr

“Is that so?”Briella chuckled softly, her thumb gently pressing against her index finger. “Tell me, would you dare say that in front of Brie?”“What’s there to be afraid of? Who knows, once Brie sees my skills, she might stop calling me ‘big bro’ altogether!”PhantomRoot switched his sitting posture, crossing one leg over the other smugly.Briella’s eyes glinted. “Oh? Then what should she call you?”“Call me Boss, straight up!” PhantomRoot said loudly, even slapping his laptop in excitement.Leaning against the corner wall in the corridor, Briella propped her chin on one hand, shifted her phone slightly, and tapped the recording button. As she listened, she nodded. “What did you say just now? I didn’t quite catch that—say it again?”“Sure! Don’t underestimate me!” PhantomRoot repeated proudly.

Old Patriarch’s expression shifted slightly. He raised a hand, signaling his men to stop their report, then got up and walked toward the window, switching the phone to his other hand. His tone carried a touch of respect. “I’m listening.”“Did WildMoon agree?” the Rosetti family patriarch asked quietly on the other end.“He did. He’s waiting for you to come to the Alliance in person.”The old master suddenly grew agitated, struggling to sit up. But a sharp pain drew a frown between his brows, forcing him to lean back again.“Really?” His voice trembled with disbelief. “WildMoon actually agreed?”Back then, WildMoon had been unyielding—absolutely unwilling to compromise.“Yes.”“Why?”The patriarch’s surprise lasted only a moment. He quickly calmed himself.“WildMoon came to me on his own. He said

Director’s Office.Taylor’s gaze was sharp as he stared at Dr. Lane, his expression solemn. One hand clenched lightly on the desk.“Is there something you want to say this time?”“Was Mr. Elsher’s incident related to the 911 case?”Dr. Lane looked at the steaming cup of tea beside him, his expression flat.As he spoke, he raised his hand and gently stroked the rim of the cup.Taylor’s pupils contracted, and the hand on the table tightened.“Dr. Lane, you’re overthinking it. No, it wasn’t. But I can’t give you a full answer right now—everything has to wait until he wakes up.”“Sigh…” Dr. Lane suddenly let out a deep sigh, lifting his eyes as if he had much to say, but in the end, it all condensed into a single sentence:“You should know better than anyone—when the 911 incident happened, it s

“What?”Briella’s lips pressed into a tight line, the corners unconsciously drawn downward. Her hand slowly clenched at her side, and a flicker of confusion and hesitation clouded her eyes. Her voice trembled almost imperceptibly.“He said that himself?”Dr. Lane nodded solemnly. “Yes. That’s what he said.”Briella lowered her gaze and took a deep breath. “Dr. Lane, you examined him. What exactly… is going on?”“The situation is very complex. One of the most serious issues is the long-term injection of multiple high-concentration drugs,” Dr. Lane explained with a sigh. “What’s more concerning is that these drugs… are specifically designed to control the brain.”His eyes met hers, grave.“This is just the most basic information we’ve found. To get a clearer picture, we’ll need further tests. But with Mr. Elsher’s current condition, that’s simply not possible right now.”“I understand. You can go ahead, Dr. Lane. I’d

  • Oops! The CEO's Ex is a Secret Genius   Too Respectful

Outside the ICU.“What’s the meaning of this?!”Audrey stared at the dozens of men in black uniforms standing in front of Briella, blocking her path.Briella stood still, cold and silent, eyes closed, holding a medical kit in her hand.“What’s the meaning? Shouldn’t I be the one asking that?”Taylor tugged at his gray tie, his eyes indifferent as they swept over them, though his lips held a gentle smile. He was playing with a gun in his hand. His gaze moved past Audrey and landed directly on Briella. “Can’t you just stay away from Diego?”Briella slowly opened her eyes, pure and cold. She parted her lips. “Move.”Taylor let out a mocking laugh. His once-refined demeanor vanished in an instant as he fiddled with the gun.The smile on his lips turned ironic. “So should I call you Boss X now? Or Briella? Or… Luna?&rd
