Chapter 22

“What’s going on?” I asked nervously.

“Something is going on with the vamolf. I had the doctors examine it. See if we can find a cure.” Jet stood up and tossed some cash on the table. I wasn’t fully finished but enough. Cleaning my mouth off, I stood up as well. Jet waited for me to be ready before leading me out.

“Sir? Everything okay?” The hostess asked, looking really frazzled.

“Yes, everything was perfect. I left enough money on the table to cover the bill and a tip. Please thank Amanda and the chef for us.”

We didn’t wait for an answer as Jet gently pushed me out the door. Grabbing my hand, he leads me to his car. Not even missing a beat as he opened my door for me and closed it right as I sat down and then going around to the driver’s seat.
