Chapter 133

Author: Bodhi Blossom
Jason's expression remained dark as he finally tore his gaze away.

Sienna leaned closer, her eyes shimmering with tenderness and pain. "That must really hurt. How could Natalie bring herself to hurt you like that? If it were me, I'd rather hurt myself than let you get injured."

Jason looked at her intently, her words lingering in his mind. How could Natalie hurt him like this?

How had the woman who once loved him like her life depended on it become someone so cold, so utterly unrecognizable?

He furrowed his brows, sinking into a heavy, silent contemplation.

Truth be told, Natalie was in a surprisingly good mood that night. Shane noticed it as he drove her home. He was humming to himself, and she even joined in once or twice, tossing back the occasional playful jab.

"Natalie, what did you ever see in Jason? That man's emotional intelligence is questionable."

Natalie chuckled, teasing herself, "Did you forget? I was blind back then."

Shane nodded fervently. "Yeah. Real bl

Natalie didn't love him anymore. But it didn't bother Jason. Since when did love have to be mutual? How often did two people truly feel the same, at the same time, in the same way? As long as he loved her, wasn't that enough? Once that truth settled in Jason's mind, the tension in his body began to ease, just slightly. That was when his phone rang. It was Sienna. …Jason returned to his apartment. The elevator doors slid open, and there she was. Sienna was waiting outside the door. As soon as she saw him, she rushed forward, all sweetness and submission. "Jason, you're finally back. I've been waiting so long for you." There was a time when she had the keys to every one of his homes. Even the spare key to his office sat in her purse. But now? Now, she could only wait like a stranger in the hallway. It was all thanks to Natalie. She had ruined everything. Once her vision recovered, the first thing she'd do was settle the score. Jason instinctively pulled back from h

Jason's eyes turned cold in an instant. His fists clenched tight. He had known that Natalie wouldn't give him a warm welcome. But even with all the mental preparation, the sting of her slap burned through his self-control, leaving anger simmering beneath his skin.Meeting her gaze—filled with nothing but contempt—his voice dropped to a dark, hollow murmur. "Natalie, do you really hate me that much?"Natalie had always loved passionately and hated even more so. When she loved him, it was with her entire soul. But now that she hated him, it was with the kind of venom that wished him dead. There was nothing left in her to offer—no kindness, not even a sliver of forgiveness. No matter how much regret Jason wore on his sleeve, it wouldn't move her. She would never betray the version of herself that had suffered in silence for three years."Yes, I hate you that much. You're disgusting to me. Just the sight of you makes me want to throw up. So do me a favor and get lost. At the very l

Jason was a cautious man—meticulous even. He'd done his homework. After confirming that Natalie had failed to repay her loan to Morgenstern Bank on time and hearing how David from the bank had exploded in fury, news had spread rapidly through the finance industry. That was why he'd sent Bruce today—not only to initiate discussions but to probe for any useful intel Natalie might let slip.Originally, Jason had no intention of signing anything today. But Rowan's unexpected appearance had completely thrown off his game. His expression darkened. "Chandler, why do you think Rowan suddenly took an interest in the port?" Chandler, also a man, understood all too well. But some things, even when obvious, weren't safe to say aloud. So, he said nothing. After a long pause, Jason's voice dropped low and deadly. "It's not the port he's interested in. It's Natalie."Chandler's eyes flicked to the bulging vein on Jason's temple and the clenched fist at his side. A sense of foreboding settle

Natalie stared at Rowan in surprise, her wrist still in his grasp. Bruce stood frozen mid-motion, feeling awkward with his hand suspended in the air. Natalie frowned. "Mr. Mattel, care to explain what this is supposed to mean?" Just behind Rowan, Landon fought hard not to laugh. It was plain jealousy. Everyone in the circle knew Rowan was notoriously possessive. Seeing another man so much as shaking hands with Natalie right in front of him? It was unforgivable. Rowan didn't bat an eye. His voice was casual, but his gaze burned with unspoken emotion. "Ms. Sutton, you're making a decision quickly? Are you sure you don't want to think about me a little longer?" His deep eyes locked onto hers. Natalie frowned. Was he seriously improvising now? Fine. If he wanted to act, she'd give him a performance to remember. She yanked her hand out of his grasp with a swift motion, her voice dripping with disdain. "No need to think about it. Anyone who keeps company with Jason isn't wort

The initial pleasantries were nothing more than formalities before the conversation quickly turned to business.Bruce asked, "Ms. Sutton, may I ask what price range you have in mind?" Natalie's tone was calm, almost indifferent. "100 million dollars." Bruce and Mark exchanged glances. Then, with a courteous smile, Bruce said, "If I'm not mistaken, you purchased Dejah Port for 300 million dollars. And now, you're asking 100 million dollars for just 30%?" Leaning back into the couch, Natalie smiled. "That's right. But I don't believe in taking a loss just to gain applause."Bruce chuckled. "Fair point. But considering you're in a bit of a hurry to sell, 100 million dollars might be too optimistic." Earlier, Natalie had reviewed Goldcrest's background in detail. It was a once-prominent maritime company, now struggling through an awkward phase of failed transformation. Their operations were lackluster at best. That made their sudden interest in acquiring a slice of Dejah Port al

Rowan's voice was soft, gentle, and full of warmth. The words rippled through Natalie's heart, stirring something long buried. So many years had passed, and she had endured so much. Yet, no one had ever asked her if it had been hard—not once. Not even she had dared to ask herself that question. But today, someone—not even quite a friend—had spoken it aloud. "It's been a difficult journey, hasn't it?" Yes, it had. Natalie frowned slightly as a strange ache tugged at her. She composed herself. By the time she gently pushed Rowan away, the mist in her eyes had cleared. Her gaze was once again calm and impenetrable. This was the Natalie the world knew, the one who could not be shaken. "This is my path. No matter how hard it gets, I'll walk it to the end." Rowan met her eyes. The casual ease on his face masked the storm of emotion beneath. Hands in his pockets, he smiled. "I know." They parted ways at the parking lot. As soon as Rowan got into his car, he reached for his ph
