Rowan stood on the top floor of Grendale's tallest building. The stars twinkled in the night sky above him as he enjoyed a bird's-eye view of the city. He subconsciously stroked the red hair tie around his wrist, and his usually hard face softened.

His subordinate, Alan Wickman, stood some distance away. "Mr. Mattel, Ms. Spencer's surgery was a huge success. Per your instructions, I've given the family of the cornea donor a huge sum. I've also planted someone by Jason Pereira's side. There's no way he'll find Ms. Spencer."

Rowan pulled his sleeve over the hair tie and turned around. "We leave Grendale tomorrow."

Alan was taken aback. He asked, "We don't need to continue verifying his identity anymore?"

Rowan shot him a menacing look that was filled with ice. He didn't even need to say a word to make Alan feel daunted. "Do you know how to answer the old man?"
