Lucille noticed Marcel had stopped his mad barking, and so, she struck while the iron was hot. "Now, would you have time to join me for dinner tonight, Mr. Ballas?"

She had no idea what Marcel was thinking on the other line. He sounded less agitated when he said, "Alright. You may decide on the restaurant, Ms. Gerwin."

Lucille heaved a sigh of relief. "That's great, Mr. Ballas. How about we exchange numbers for convenience?"

Marcel grunted his agreement, still impatient as before, and hung up.

Thrilled with her accomplishment, Lucille was confident she could win Marcel over without Cheryl's help. She immediately added Marcel's number, then earnestly searched up a list of restaurants in Grendale.

She had to be deliberate with her choice. The finer the restaurant, the better. In the end, she decided to make reservations at one of the top three dining establishments in Grendale, with three-figure menu prices that could easily bring the total check to thousands of dollars.
