Chapter 3

SIA

 My wolf had been crying out since I set my eyes on him. After he tried to strangle me, I wanted to run away but now I don't want to. He is my mate. He is rightfully mine and he's supposed to be with me. He can't just toss me away like I'm completely useless. 

Okay you're getting too excited Sia. Can't you see you're way below his level? He's gonna treat you like everyone else does. 

I wanted to go back home because his conditions would mean going to college and finishing high school in another three years time. My parents may finally look at me as a complete loser by then. 

On second thoughts, I have high tolerance to any kind of treatment. Working with him for three years is enough time to get him to marry me and make me his queen. Even though we're enemies, I would still gain much respect from everyone and probably bring peace to both packs. 

I know this is too much of a dream but I want to make it a reality. He may hate me now, but I'll try everything I can to prove I'm worthy to be his mate after all. 

And if I don't?. I'm going to make enough money to make me a rich person, I'll be able do a lot of things. I can go far away and start a new life, of course after helping my aunt. She can even come with me. 

In other words, I'm not going to lose. After thinking of this, I went back into the house with all the courage left in me. Even though I'm trembling, I barged into his study to do what he should have done. 

Claim him. 

He stared at me probably surprised or angry at my outburst. I can't read his mind, he's stronger than me. At least I saw that he was angry before, but now his face is just blank. 

"Wait what?!" He finally said like he just recovered from shock. 

"To claim you. You're my mate and you don't expect me to go away like that after discovering that." I said with all the confidence.

He burst into laughter suddenly, what's so funny to him?. Is he making fun of me right now?. 

Right. He's making fun of me because he thinks I'm not worthy of being his mate. I can't stop myself from looking at his gorgeous face while he laughs. Why does the bad ones always have the good looks?.

"I know you think this is funny. It's okay if you..."

"Oh please you little wolf. You want me to accept you as my mate? What is this? Some sort of clown show or what? When will it end?." He asked mockingly. 

"I'm accepting the job. You may not accept me now but I'm going to do everything to prove myself worthy of being your mate. I promise you, you are going to accept me as your mate." I replied determined. 

He stopped laughing and kept a straight face, I can hardly read his expression. I feel ridiculous myself, I waited impatiently for a word from him. 

"You can resume tomorrow. Everything you need to know will be explained to you by her." He finally said after ages. 

"Really?! Thank you so much..."

"No need to get excited. You just signed up for the worst torment on earth. I hope you'll be able to withstand it... Mate." He smirked evily. 

He signalled me to leave which I did without saying anything. Did he just promise to make me miserable while working for him?. This is so not going to be easy for me but I will prove myself to him. 

And exactly how do you intend to do that?. My subconscious mind mocked me. 

I don't know how I'm going to do it, but whatever I have to do to show I deserve to live a normal life, I'll do. It's going to be tough considering the person who is involved.

   "You do have a death wish Sia. What were you thinking?!." Aunt scolded after I told her everything that happened today. 

I smiled. I know right?. But then I'm suddenly crazy about the whole thing. 

"You're still smiling?. This whole thing is making you crazy. You should have just listened to the signs and not move forward with the plans. You should have just come home and forget about him when you didn't make the interview." She lamented. 

"It's nothing to worry about aunt. I am going to conquer. All these troubles are going end soon enough.". 

" I know you have a great aura around you. You have a great future my dear. But then I am worried about you, this man you're going to work for. You know he's the alpha king of the rival pack, the fact that he's your mate will make no difference in hurting you. Just let this go Sia." 

I rolled my eyes. I know my aunt is worried about me. Yet I can't keep watching my life and do nothing about it. I have to do something about myself before I completely die of misery. 

"Aunt you need a good night rest. I also need it since I'm starting a new great job tomorrow." I said sarcastically and left for my room. 

If I stay with my aunt for longer, I might have to give up on the idea of working for him. I laid on my bed dreamily, thinking of all the possibilities of earning my family's respect. I slowly closed my eyes because I didn't want to dream much, I'd rather make everything a reality.

The next morning, I woke up as early as I can to prepare. I was up early enough to pack my stuff in a suitcase. I got dressed in a nice white designed shirt and short skirt with a matching pair of shoes. 

Then I packed my hair in a messy bun, applied a little make up and I was done. That's when the confusion settled in. I don't know if I'm supposed to meet him at the company or at his house. 

I don't even remember where his house is, and it's not nice enough for me to go to work with my clothes. This is so frustrating. And it started raining already. 

"I think this is a good sign the job is not meant for you. It's raining already." Aunt said coming into my room. 

I sighed. "Aunt please don't do this. I know you're worried about me but please no negative thoughts. I'll be fine, I promise." 

"It's okay dear. I believe in you." She said and hugged me. 

"I'll just go make breakfast for Keira and Keiran. Just call me when you're ready to leave." 

Still deliberating on what to do, I heard the doorbell ring. I walked to the door and opened it, surprisingly it's the man who brought me home yesterday. My boss's driver who I smell to be a werewolf. 

"Good morning Miss. His Highness asked me to come pick you up and and also take you to the office after." He said with a straight face. 

"Uh... Yes. I'm going to get my things. A few moments please." I replied and rushed into the house. 

I got to my room and took my things. Then I went into the kitchen to say goodbye to my aunt. I left immediately because I didn't want to hear any more negative thoughts from her. 

I got into the car and he drove me to the mansion. Now I understand the way better, yesterday was dark and I wasn't concentrating on the road. 

As soon as I got down, I was shown toy room by one of the maids. I didn't notice how big this place was yesterday, now I do. It's much bigger than my father's house and his compound combined. 

My new room is so huge, it's beautiful and colorful. I wonder what his room will be like, maybe dark because of his personality. 

"Excuse me miss. The driver is waiting for you." Someone said to me. 

I snapped out of my dreamland and rushed downstairs. I got into the car and we went to the company. I took in a deep breath as I made my way to the last floor. That's where the boss's office is. 

I couldn't help but notice the hateful stares from some people and lustful stares from some guys. I also heard bad comments but I ignored them and continued walking. 

I met a lady at the counter and walked straight to her. I loved how she looked at me with envy, and I smell a wolf. She's a werewolf?. Does this guy make all his subjects work for him or what?.

"Good morning. My name is..."

"Miss Anastasia Cobbens. I hope you know you're late to work on your first day." I heard the rude voice of my new boss. 

"Not yet, I'm still ten minutes early." I defended. 

"Really? To my office. Now." He orders and walked out. 

What a meanie. He just loves to order people around for no reason at all. I rolled my eyes and followed him into his office.
