Lynx POVI have never been so at a loss for words before. I’m the talkative, always fill in the silence, type. I’m not shy, but I’ve never had a reason to be. Luka, my wolf, has been berating me since we got here. Basically, I should have laid my claim to her as soon as I laid eyes on her. He’s angry because he doesn’t understand why I haven’t. What a barbarian. He doesn’t understand I can’t just throw her over my shoulder and leave which is exactly what he wants me to do.When Bayne looked into Lyric’s social media and the three seemed as thick as thieves, he looked into theirs as well. Kinsey only ever seems to post life events or advertising for business for her meal on wheels vendor. It’s supposed to be a great place to eat and help the needy at the same time. The funds keep the shelter in business. Instead of just giving money to homeless people on the street, which a lot of people are uncomfortable doing since they don’t know if that money is going to feed an addiction instead
3rd Person POVIt’s now Wednesday and Mocha Munchies is now closed for the day. The three girl friends work at the shelter tonight. Lyric awaits impatiently for the text results from her appointment from the previous day. They needed about 24 hours for them to complete the tests. So long as she comes back clean, she’s in the clear. The night at the club will be behind her finally. She dealt with everything else, like if she even became pregnant and also dealt with the man himself. Telling him that that night is in the past now and we can move on separately, though she won’t admit it, she’s disappointed about it. She’s not sure why though since she knows nothing about the man, but the fact he’s intimidating, handsome, and seems like he requires submission. A part of Lyric wants to give that to him but another part would rather fight tooth and nail over it. She’s not sure what she was expecting anyway out of the encounter. Lyric as sure all he wanted was a one night stand with anyone wh
The fog is thick. Not in the air, but in my head. So many thoughts and emotions pulling in so many different directions. The fog is clouding any sensible thought that comes to mind. It’s strong and powerful. Alarm bells ring across my body as if I’m in enemy territory. As soon as my clouded mind recognizes there’s a threat, it gets pulled towards lust and need. Unsure where the need came from, but grateful there is already a willing and heavenly being in human form standing in front of me to sate this undeniable need. The fog is clouding any memory of how we met or even how we came to be in a private room together. Her hands all over me just as much as mine are all over her. Neither of us seeming to care about anything happening outside this room, as if we are in a trance.Alarms! ‘Where was I before I came in here?’ ‘What was I doing?’ ‘For the love of all that is Holy, she tastes so sweet.’Alarms! ‘Wait, what was her name?’ ‘Did I even ask?’ ‘Shit. She’s so soft. Her
Bayne POV “Has anyone heard from Ryker? He missed check-in this morning.” I askedmy brothers, Lynx and Syn. “Nothing yet. I tried mind-linking but all is quiet.” Lynx responded. “I left you to deal with that when he went AWOL last night.” Syn added. “Well, I haven’t heard anything since he walked off with that female bearing a certain look in his eyes, like he had a purpose. He’s not here obviously, and I’ve never known him to spend a whole night with any female by choice. I have a bad feeling about this.” I concluded. The three of us sit around the plain living room, drinking coffee at 7:00am. I am working on the computer while they clean their weapons on the coffee table with the tv on in the background. I attempted to trace Rykers’ phone again, but no luck. I’m the computer genius out of the four of us. We are brothers, but not by blood. Each once of us has a unique skill that benefits our team. Ryker is the Alpha or leader of our pack whereas I am the tech genius. I de
Ryker POV I can’t say I ever remember my head splitting and pounding this extreme before. After all the hell I been through, bullet holes and knife wounds, not even the special combination of silver and iron type of torture can compare. Keeping my eyes shut while I try to breathe through it, waiting for my advanced healing to ease some of the pain. I hear my brother and best friend ask with some concern in his voice. “What happened last night, Brother?” Not even sure how to respond to that myself just yet, I open my eyes and take a look around. Around the open kitchen and living room concept. The bar counter looks out into the average size living room. Nothing special or even pretty about the temporary home we chose to stay in. We had a job to do. This was simply a place to sleep and organize our next phase of operations. With a deep breath and exhale I admitted slowly, “It’s unclear the direction of last nights events.” “What the F-k does that mean?” Syn said, sounding
Lyric POV “Andrew, don’t hit your classmates', please. It’s not nice.” I tell one of my students. He has been pushing all the boundaries today. It seems it must be a full moon today, because most of my students are acting out a lot more than usual. To make matters worse ,I have the hangover from hell. I knew I shouldn’t have went out with the girls last night. If it wasn’t for my phones daily alarm going off, I would probably still be passed out at the club. I’m was still mad they left without me, but I’m not really that close with them, except Paityn. Paityn is my best friend, adopted sister and roommate. We have been close since I can remember. It was her birthday we celebrated yesterday. Her new boyfriend, Eric must have taken her home last night. My car was still in the parking lot thankfully, when I came out of the club. Luckily, I always keep an emergency set of clothes and toiletries in my trunk since I didn’t have enough time to go home and shower before work, due to such
Ryker POV As I was waiting for Bayne to see if the mystery female from last night had some kind of internet footprint, so we maybe be able to find her general whereabouts, I showered and slept off the remaining hangover. Feeling better, I joined the others to find out what they found. "There you are. I was wondering when you were going to join us. You don’t look like hell anymore. I hope that means you feel better." "Yes, I do actually. Any news?” I responded, nodding towards Bayne. “We got lucky. The females she accompanied posted on social media. They also included some exuberant and bold photos, which was very helpful. They even have the decency to tag names. In this one here, you can see the birthday girl, Paityn Windsor and her sister, Lyric Windsor, also another friend common in the photos, Kinsey Cole. The sisters’ own a coffee shop while the friend runs a homeless shelter/soup kitchen. Ms Cole vendors out of a meal on wheels called Meal Mentors. I traced Lyric Windsor’s
Lyric POVHere we are, at the soup kitchen, working away to get fifty plus hungry people fed. Kinsey had made fresh batches of her famous chicken noodle soup, some rolls, chicken salad, and tuna salad sandwiches and some jello for dessert. People can pick and choose the items they want, less goes to waste that way. There is also milk, water, apple and orange juice available as well. I’m helping give anyone who wants any, some of the soup and a roll. The sandwiches previously made and wrapped, Paityn is handing out. The jello and drinks are sitting in refrigerated units for anyone to grab and keep moving. Kinsey is greeting guests and helping anyone find seats. She introduces guests to get them to start talking when they sit together. It helps everyone make friends and keep the mood light while accommodating the lack of free space. We usually don’t have issues here unless we run out of food. Kinsey does her best to make sure that doesn’t happen, even if that means running to the sto
