Luna Maxine Sandoval POV

I couldn't wait to get back to my draft, so I immediately drove to Booze Up Club. One thing I like about this place is that they have private rooms with a beautiful view that calms you down.

I ordered the usual and gave a tip to the girl who served it. Napansin ko pa ang malanding pagngiti niya sa akin, but I just ignored her.

"Dad?!" Kunot-noo kong tiningnan ang screen. I wasn't expecting his call at basta ko na lang itong sinagot nang hindi tinitingnan ang caller ID.

"Where the hell are you?"

"It's the first day of your marriage, yet you're not with your wife already." "What am I supposed to do, Dad? Stuck myself with her?"

"She's your wife now, Luna!" Napabuntong-hininga ako. I know that already, but he can't force me to do things I don't feel like doing.

"Alright, Dad," walang buhay kong sagot bago pinatay ang tawag. I can't tolerate hearing more from him.

I packed my things and had my bill checked out. I was on my way home, and I couldn't even count how many times I gasped out of sheer annoyance. This is so frustrating, and it’s only just the first day. What more for the rest of my life, being married to someone I barely even know?

Fuck! My hold on the steering wheel tightened. I felt so damn defeated, even though the war was just getting started.

The moment I arrived, I got out of the car and marched straight into the house.

"What the hell?"

Dinala ako ng mga paa ko sa pinagmumulan ng ingay, and that's when I saw them having fun by the pool.

Dahan-dahan akong humarap. "Join us." I don't know her, but she's definitely Calli's friend.

Umiling ako. "No, I'm fine."

"You don't get to humiliate me in front of my friends," bulong niya.

I just let her drag me toward her friends, who looked completely thrilled to see the woman in front of me so in control.

"That's our girl!" narinig ko pang proud na sabi ng isa sa kanila.

"Drink with us. Luna, right?" ang naka-red swimsuit ang nagsalita. "I'm Dee."

"Here."

"Now!"

But before I could even process what was happening, bigla na lang umupo si Calli sa kandungan ko.

"What the hell!—" Before I could finish my sentence, lumapat na ang malambot niyang labi sa mga labi ko.

"The hell are you doing? You're drunk."

Fine. I'll give her what she wants, but don't blame me later on.

I can say she's actually good at this.

He carefully pulled out his phone, his eyes narrowing when he saw the name on the screen. It was the private investigator he had secretly hired years ago to rigorously dig into the truth behind his and Junica's father’s fatal car accident. Lenard stood up slightly, keeping one hand on Tommy’s shoulder as he answered the call. "Speak," Lenard commanded, his voice dropping into a low, dead serious register. The private investigator didn't waste any time with pleasantries and immediately dropped the sudden, shattering news. "Sir, we finally got the full forensic reconstruction of your father's vehicle, along with the recovered traffic camera feeds that were initially wiped from the local servers. The accident was completely a foul play." Lenard froze, his entire body stiffening as the word foul play echoed dangerously in his ears. Don Jaime, who

"You have to do something! They planned this! They plotted this whole thing against me so they could take my son away from me! Lenard, you have to believe me!" Junica shrieked hysterically. Umaagos ang mga luha sa kanyang mukha, but deep down, it wasn't out of fear of being separated from her child. It was the sheer madness of seeing her grand plans crumble—the terrifying reality of losing her chance to reclaim Lluna. Flashbacks of his sister's chilling behavior instantly flooded his mind.

The raw, bleeding agony in Lluna's voice was enough to make the old man's blood run cold. For a long time, he had been a distant, harsh father, but seeing his daughter reduced to a sobbing, alcohol-drowned mess over the phone ignited an old, protective fire in his chest. "Maxine, listen to me," Don Jaime commanded, his voice dead serious, completely cutting through her drunken hysterical weeping. "Stop drinking. Stay inside the house and do not drive. Do you hear me? I am handling this." "But Dad... she's gone... she knows everything... she hates me," Lluna choked out, her breath hitching violently. "She doesn't hate you, Maxine. She is hurt, and she is terrified because of the poison Junica fed her," Don Jaime replied, his eyes narrowing into slits as he looked out of the hospital suite window. "I told you I have your back, and I meant it. I will fi

The Evacuation and Calli’s EscapeNanginginig ang buong katawan ni Calli habang mabilis na isinisiksik ang kanyang mga damit sa loob ng malaking maleta. Every breath she took felt like inhaling shattered glass, her tears completely blurring her vision as she looked around their empty bedroom. Clutching the medical reports tightly in her hands, she grabbed her phone and dialed the only people who could shield her from this nightmare."Dee... please, pick me up," Calli sobbed hysterically into the receiver, her voice breaking completely. "She lied to me, Dee. They have a child. Lluna and Junica have a son... I can't stay here anymore. Please, come get me."Narinig niya ang sunod-sunod na mura at pagpapanic sa kabilang linya bago sumagot si Dee. "Don't move, Gabbi! Stay right there, we're coming for you! Pack your bags, you are staying with us!"Hindi pa

Inside the Hospital Room (The Interrogation) Nang tuluyang masara ang p***o, Don Jaime let out a heavy breath, masking his extreme suspicion behind a gentle grandfatherly smile. Tinitigan niya ulit ang bata. There was absolutely no trace of Maxine or even their family’s prominent features in this boy. "Come closer, Tommy. Don't be afraid," Don Jaime said softly, patting the side of his hospital bed. Tommy hesitated, looking back at the door for a brief second before shifting his weight closer to the old man. "Are you going to get a big injection, Grandfather?" "No, little buddy. I am just resting," Don Jaime replied, his eyes immediately dropping to the boy's sleeve. He gently rolled the fabric up, revealing the fresh, angry purple bruise. "Tommy, tell me the truth. How did you get this? Did the nanny really do this to you?" Tommy immediately bit his lower lip, shaking his head rapidly. "No! Yaya is good to me. She cooks my favorite food." "Then who did it, Tommy? A strong boy sh
