I pushed the door to the house and found Becca and Sophia standing there, lips pursed, hands crossed, and feet tapping impatiently as they waited for me.

Suppressing a groan, I thought, I don't need this right now.

Becca had practically been a pain in my ass ever since the engagement. She never lets me sleep without voicing her opinions about Dominic and Savannah's relationship.

Savannah is my daughter and my pride. She thinks I hate her. It kills me to see her look at me with that sorrowful expression every time, or how she can't even talk to me for an hour straight.

I caused this. I made her feel insecure, and now I will work on it. “You're home,” Becca said as she spotted me. “We've been waiting for you.”

I looked at both of them. Becca and Sophia had a slight resemblance, but their behavior was identical.

They were both spoiled, overbearing, and, worst of all, self-centered. The last thing I wanted to do right now was deal with these two. Still, I asked, “May I ask why?”
