Chapter 215 – In Labour

Emmett raced to the hospital with Simone protesting beside him to slow down. ‘I knew it wasn’t Braxton Hicks this time’ Emmett fumes in his mind. “Slow down, Emmett” she says again, pulling him out of his thoughts.

He looks over to her and beams a smile in her direction; “we are going to meet our little girl” he says as another contraction hits Simone and she screams out in pain. “We are almost there” he whispers in a hushed tone.

He pulls up out of the emergency department. Linda is waiting out the front with a wheel chair for them to arrive. “You called Linda?” he asks as she nods and tries to breathe through another contraction.

“How far apart are the contractions?” Linda asks Emmett.

He gives her a blank stare; “I was a bit preoccupied, trying to get her to the hospital; I forgot to time them. If I was to guess, they are 2-3 minutes apart” he tells her.

“And her waters broke while she was on the phone to me. Let’s get her up and see how far along she is” Linda states as Emmett pus
