The sunbeam sliced through the sheer curtains, a pale gold light spilling onto the bedroom. Raven rested her head against Killian's chest, his heartbeat a steady beat against her ear. Her mind ran back again with last night—the shock, naked battle, pounding and naked, and the long-overdue dumping of secrets in her heart.

She drew slow circles on Killian's chest, feeling the tension beneath the skin.

"You didn't sleep," she panted.

"Neither did I," he answered softly.

She tilted her head to the side, a small smile playing on her lips for the first time in days. "Do you think you'll ever be able to get past something like that? Past him?"

Killian's gaze traveled over hers. "Not without a fight. But you don't have to fight through it by yourself, Raven."

There had been a tap at the door before either of them had been able to say another word. Killian's body twitched automatically as he sat up. Raven twitched beneath the covers as he put on a robe and made his way to the door.

  • Owned by Billionaire   Chapter 160 – What Comes After

It began with the quiet. The kind of stillness that used to make Elena restless. A world without threats, without blood or vengeance, without the constant need to fight for space, identity, or truth. At first, it felt like a vacuum. A silence too deep, too clean. But slowly—day by day—it became something else.It became peace.A life.A future. She stood barefoot in the kitchen of their coastal home, the morning sun pouring through tall windows. The air smelled like sea salt and fresh coffee. Killian was by the stove, flipping pancakes with a contented look on his face, his dark hair still tousled from sleep. He looked normal here. Human. Real. Not the ruthless billionaire or the cold strategist the world once feared. Just Killian. Just hers.“Remind me again when you became a breakfast guy?” Elena asked, leaning against the counter with a mug in hand.Killian smirked. “Since I realized it’s the only time of day I can bribe you into sitting still.”She laughed, setting her mug down an

  • Owned by Billionaire   Chapter 159 – The Quiet After

The first snowfall of winter dusted the sidewalks of Manhattan like a delicate sigh, soft and clean, as if the city itself had decided to forgive. Elena stood in the front courtyard of the Romano-Graves Initiative, watching children laugh and chase snowflakes in the garden her mother had once dreamed of.It was quiet. Not the suffocating silence of fear or the thick hush of grief—but the kind of quiet that came after the final page of a book. The kind that made you close your eyes and breathe. Finally.“Thought I’d find you here,” Killian’s voice called gently behind her.She turned, her scarf fluttering in the breeze. “Where else would I be?”He walked toward her with his hands in his coat pockets, the corners of his mouth twitching up in that familiar, barely-there smirk that used to drive her mad. Now it was home.“You’ve been out here for an hour,” he murmured, brushing a snowflake from her shoulder. “You okay?”Elena hesitated. “I think so.”That was the thing no one told you abo

  • Owned by Billionaire   Chapter 158 – One Last Oath

The late autumn wind swept through the open windows of the Manhattan brownstone, carrying with it the scent of change. Elena stood in the grand living room—now stripped of the shadows that once defined it—and stared out at the skyline. The city was healing. And so was she.Killian’s voice floated in from the hallway, low and steady as he spoke on the phone with Reid about the foundation’s upcoming launch. The Romano-Graves Initiative had officially received city approval. Permits were signed. The press conference was scheduled. The center in Queens was already undergoing its first stage of renovation. It was happening.Everything they’d fought for—the lives lost, the betrayals endured, the legacy rebuilt—had led to this. But despite the progress, Elena couldn’t shake the feeling that something was still unsettled. Like a story not yet fully told.“Still brooding?” Ava appeared at the archway, her eyes narrowed knowingly.Elena smiled faintly. “Just… thinking.”“You’ve been doing a lot

  • Owned by Billionaire   Chapter 157 – Full Circle

The early morning sky hovered between dark and dawn—the kind of quiet that the world holds when it’s between endings and beginnings. Elena stood at the edge of Greenwood Cemetery, clutching a single white lily in her gloved hand. The wind carried the scent of earth and mourning, but also hope. She wasn’t sure what she expected to find here. Closure? Peace? Maybe something that resembled forgiveness. But all she felt was a raw kind of significance: she had returned to the place where her story had lost its innocence.Ahead of her, the granite marker carved “Margaret Romano” caught the dim light. Beneath it were dates—1970 to 2005—her mother’s life, a lifetime ended far too soon. Elena knelt, gently placing the lily beside the headstone. The leather folders she kept in her coat pocket—documents, letters, the things she had uncovered about Margaret’s life—rested against her side like a burden she was finally ready to set down.“Hey,” came a soft voice behind her.Elena looked up to see K

The world didn’t end. It didn’t pause to honor the dead. It didn’t hold its breath for the broken.Instead, it moved forward—unbothered, relentless, and alive.Elena sat by the tall windows of Killian’s penthouse, legs tucked under her as she sipped coffee from a delicate black mug. Below her, the city thrived. Horns blared. People bustled along the sidewalks. Buildings glittered in the early light. Her phone buzzed on the marble table beside her. She glanced at it, expecting another security update from Reid or a message from Ava checking in.But it was neither.Unknown Number. She stared at it for a moment. Her chest tightened—but she answered.“Elena Romano,” she said, voice calm and even.Silence hummed for a beat too long. Then: “You did it.”The voice was low, familiar, and lined with smoke. A woman.Elena stiffened. “Who is this?”“I watched the house burn from across the river. Victor is gone, isn’t he?”“Yes,” Elena said. “Who are you?”“You don’t know me, but I knew your m

  • Owned by Billionaire   Chapter 154: Ashes of the Empire

The fire lit the sky like a dying god’s last scream.Elena stood at the edge of the road, her fingers laced tightly with Killian’s, watching the estate collapse into itself. Flames licked at the windows, swallowing the opulence, the corruption, the memories. What once was the seat of Victor’s power now crumbled into a pyre of guilt and retribution. And Elena didn’t flinch. She felt it—the weight of what she’d done—but it didn’t crush her. It settled into her bones like truth. Heavy, but necessary.Killian’s thumb rubbed slow circles against the back of her hand. He hadn’t spoken in the last five minutes, but his silence wasn’t cold. It was reverent. As if he understood she needed the quiet, the stillness to say goodbye in her own way. Finally, Elena turned away.“Let’s go.”He gave her a nod and led her to the car. The door shut with a quiet finality, muffling the distant roar of the fire. She leaned her head against the window, watching the last hints of red and orange disappear behi
