As I had managed to catch the shorts when Sean threw them. Somehow, the crop top missed my hands completely at some point and dropped straight to the floor.
I looked at it on the floor for a second. Then I looked back up at him.
"No way." The word came out flat and final. I picked up the shorts and threw them straight back at him. "I am not wearing that. You can just make me clean something and get it over with." I he
Trevor's POV"Yeah? Doing what?" Sean asked after then, and I already knew it wasn't really a question. It was a setup and we both knew it was a setup. He waited about 3 seconds, watched me say nothing, then ran a hand through his hair with that easy smile sitting on his face. "Turning you on?"‘This silly guy.’ I had no words left for this guy.I took one slow step away from him, creating some distance between us like that was going to solve anything. He matched it immediately in one step toward me for every one I took back, closing whatever gap I opened. And then wearing that expression that said he was genuinely enjoying this and had absolutely nowhere else to be.I kept moving, while he kept following.I didn't take note of the table behind me until the back of my thighs hit the edge of it. My balance went immediately —my feet losing their balance on the floor, my body tipping backward — and before I had even processed what was happening, Sean's hands were already there. One arm c
Trevor's POVI was at my locker the next morning, pulling out the books I needed, feeling genuinely better than I had any right to after yesterday. You would barely notice anything had happened if you looked at me — which was exactly how I wanted it. The pain had dialled down significantly overnight and I knew exactly why… Sean had sent pain relief drugs to my apartment after he dropped me off. I had stood at my door holding the small paper bag for a good minute, not knowing what to do with the feeling that came with it, and then I had taken the tablets and gone to bed and then ate the food that came as an extra package from him. They worked. That was all I was going to say about it.Nadine came up behind me, her footsteps giving her away before she spoke. "Hey!" She said, appearing at my shoulder with that brightness she carried into most mornings like it cost her nothing.I smiled at her. "Hey, look at you."She smiled back, looking all pleased, and reached past me to pull her own b
Trevor's POV"Okay, fine." I finally said it after sitting with the idea long enough to make it clear I wasn't jumping at it. The look on my face was doing its own commentary as I knew that he could read it, but as much as I wanted to hold the line on principle, my body had already made the actual argument for me when I tried to stand up 60 seconds ago and went straight back down. I needed the help and pretending otherwise wasn't going to change that.Sean got to his feet and stretched his hand toward me, open and steady. I looked at it for half a second. Then I took it and let him pull me up, keeping my grip until I was sure my legs were going to hold. They did…although not comfortably, but enough. He kept a hand at my side as we walked toward the parking area, not making a thing out of it, just there as a steady point I could lean into without it being announced. I appreciated that more than I was going to say out loud. We crossed the lot slowly to where he parked his car, and he go
Trevor's POV"I just want to go home." I finally said to Sean, my voice coming out weaker than I intended. "I don't want all of that drama."He held my gaze for a second. Then he stood up slowly and turned to face the three of them with that specific energy he carried when a decision had already been made and he was simply delivering it."You guys are paying for this at the next practice." He said it loud and without any hesitation. "500 pushups, 200 sprints and full contact drills until you physically cannot do one more. Now get out of my face. Go!"They left immediately. No back and forth, no grumbling loud enough to matter. Just gone, which said everything about what Sean's voice meant to people who had spent years falling in line behind it. The parking area went quiet and I let out a slow breath against the wall behind me.He crouched back down to meet my level. "You should go to the hospital." He said it plainly, his eyes moving over my face with that quick and assessing look."I
Trevor's POV"Someone, get me a jockstrap. Now!" Max said it loud and easy, like he was ordering something off a menu.Josh moved immediately. That was the thing about Josh — he never needed to think about it. Whatever Max called, Josh answered. He reached into his bag and pulled one out, tossing it across towards Max."Get him." Max said, and Josh and the third guy moved on me at the same time, grabbing both arms and pushing me back hard against the wall. The concrete hit my shoulder blades and I winced but I couldn't move. They had full control of me and they knew it and the looks on their faces said they had been looking forward to this specific moment for longer than today.Max took the jockstrap and stretched it between his fingers, slow and deliberate, letting the moment build for himself. He looked at me with that particular expression he wore when he had already decided something was fu
Trevor's POV"I can't tell if he is being real with me right now. Or if this is just another trick to get me to change the budget." That was the thought sitting loudest in my head as I looked at our hands — his next to mine on the edge of the sink, not touching, just close enough to feel the presence of it.I pulled my hand away."Whatever you are feeling," I said, looking straight into his eyes with everything I had, "I don't want any part of it." I turned and moved toward the door. His hand caught my arm before I even. reached the door. Not rough though… just in a way that I felt it and then in turn stopping me at my track."I am serious about this." His voice had dropped to something I had never quite heard from him before. No performance in it. No angle sitting underneath it. "And you just have to believe me this time."I stood with my back half to him and tried to find the lie in it. Tried to locate the version of this where he was running a play and I was the ball. Because that
