Chapter 1

"Beatriz, where is Francine? Is your daughter still sleeping? How long has she been sleeping, hasn't she gone out of her bed yet?" Zeke Forenbach asked his wife as he removed his shoes and entered their home.

Any words Beatriz was about to say were cut short when she noticed a young man following her husband, who she estimated was around the same age as her son Royce. The stranger is very handsome, with thick brows and thick hair, and even though the sun was not shining, she could see his captivating magnetic gray eyes. He is also tall, almost as tall as her husband.

The stranger is in good shape and has a tattoo on his right arm. Beatriz doesn't like to admit it, but this young man is one of the most attractive men she's ever encountered.

"Z-Zeke, you're not telling me we have a visitor," Beatriz said as she approached the young man with a pleasant smile. "I'm Beatriz, the Green River Pack's Luna. I'm sure you've heard of Zeke, the pack's Lycan King. May I ask what your name is?”

They have a good sense of smell. Wolves have distinct senses from humans. Yet Beatriz can't tell if the stranger in front of her is a pure-blooded human or one of their kind.

But she felt confident that Zeke would not bring danger into their home.

Their visitor simply looked her in the eyes. He snorted without moving. The young man's actions astounded Beatriz. He's grumpy and doesn't seem to trust them.

Zeke rubbed the back of his neck at the young man's actions. "She's my wife, Azure,"

Beatriz continued to try to smile at their visitor. “Azure. Your name is pretty lovely. This is my first encounter with you in The Land of Moon. Are you from this village or the other?”

Their small urban village is called The Land of Moon. She was certain that their visitor was an outsider because almost everyone in the neighborhood knew each other. Although they blend in and act like pure-blooded humans, only individuals with wolf blood can live in The Land of Moon.

"Hmp," Azure said, crossing his arms across his chest.

Zeke, her husband, gazed at her. In his eyes, he could see him apologizing.

"Azure will live here with us, Beatriz." The word escaped from the lips of the Lycan King.

Beatriz was taken aback by her husband's decision. They are unfamiliar with Azure. They have no idea where he came from. They also have a daughter who has to be protected. Is this the reason Zeke is looking for Francine?

Yet, because the Forenbachs and The Land Moon are famed for their hospitality, Beatriz welcomed what her husband, Zeke, wanted to happen. She was certain he had a good reason for wanting Azure to live with them.

"Welcome to our little home, Azure. We also have a son, who I believe is your age. Perhaps Royce will arrive in a few hours. You will undoubtedly get along. We still have one available guest room. You can use that as your room,"

Azure did not respond. His gaze darted over their home. She noticed his gaze shift to their picture frames on the wall. Beatriz could tell Azure was observant.

"I'm sure Azure is starving, Beatriz. Is the food ready for dinner?" Zeke asked.

She recalled that she had been cooking. "I'm almost done cooking. You'll entertain Azure first, so when the food's ready, I can set the table,"

"All right, I'll wake Francine up," he said.

Beatriz went into the kitchen and continued cooking. She has a lot of questions, and Zeke is the only one who can answer them. She was delighted to welcome a new member to their family. Azure appears to be harmless and gentle. She had nothing to be concerned about.

Meanwhile, Zeke turned to face their visitor, Azure. "I'm just going to wake up my daughter. You are welcome to sit here," He pointed to a chair made of mahogany wood that had been sculpted by one of their pack's best sculptors, who had already passed away.

Azure rolled his eyes and sat in the chair as if it were his own.

"Is there anything I can do? As much as I want to flee, I know I can't get away from you," Azure whispered, but that didn't escape Zeke's keen hearing.

What Azure said was true. He was not going to allow Azure out of his sight. And he assigned a large number of warriors to keep an eye on Azure. Azure is an outcast. They have no idea who he is. They have no idea where he came from. Zeke had no idea if he was a pure-blooded wolf. But he was certain of one thing: he was not human.

And, as the Green River Pack's Lycan King, he is responsible for the safety of his pack members. When Azure appears unexpectedly in The Land of Moon, he learns that he possesses an unusual power. And his harsh temperament makes him potentially dangerous.

Yet, he was unable to force him away since he remembered his son Royce from Azure. His heart couldn't push Azure away, especially when he had so many wounds on his body and was so feeble.

The Forenbachs are well-known for their kindness. All of their pack members have a strong regard for their family.

He gave Azure a friendly smile. He wanted to look into Azure's peculiar behavior as much as he could. He seems distant and awkward. He is cranky and has a nasty demeanor. But he was sure that his behavior had a reason. And he's not going to stop until he discovers it. Azure is a kind creature, he knew that in his heart. He wants to give him an opportunity to prove himself to him.

"You are right. There is nothing you can do except stay in our home now. Do not worry. No one will hurt you here. Wait for me, I'll be right back," he said as he took a step towards the stairs.

He and his Beta, Reiner, came across Azure in a forest. Hurt and unconscious. They didn't hesitate to take him to the hospital. Azure was hysterical when he awoke, believing they were physically harming him.

Zeke realized that Azure may have a trauma or phobia.

Zeke led his daughter's bedroom.  He was about to knock on the door when it opened, and he saw Francine. She just awoke.

"Daddy!" His daughter hugged him tight.

Francine, his daughter, is a happy and sweet girl. At the age of fourteen, she is a smart girl for her age. A lot of people love his daughter. Their pack is not very rigorous. They don't tell each other that they must find a fated mate to be powerful. They also allow their members to live their lives as they see fit. They can either serve the pack or live as humans.

The Moon Land is serene. Because of their beliefs, they appear to be pure-blooded humans. He doesn't want to be strict and believes that everyone should be free to pursue their interests in life. Francine is a Luna Princess, however, she has no rank in the Green River Pack.

"Why are you up so late, Francine? Do you have a problem?" he questioned as she placed her head on his shoulder.

"I don't have a problem, daddy. My examinations are going to start a few days from now, so I'm sleep deprived, but now I feel alive." She sighed. "The aroma of mommy's cooking!  I am suddenly famished. I want to eat now, dad," she said, pouting her lips.

"We have a visitor today," Zeke chuckled, ruffling his daughter's hair.

Francine shrugged, not paying much attention to what her father said; they are used to unexpected visitors at their home, and many pack members rely on her father's help.

Her father and she walked down the stairs together. Her father was speaking to her, but she was no longer paying attention. Her gaze was drawn to a man lounging comfortably in their living room.

Francine's breathing stopped as she saw the attractive man. She assumed he was their visitor. Even when seated, he is tall, and his face is flawless and beardless. His hair is naturally wavy.

The stranger must have sensed that someone was staring at him, so he went in search of the source of that gaze. Till he noticed her. Their gazes locked.

Francine couldn't tell what was going on in those eyes. But, she felt that her palms were cold. It appears to be spinning. She seemed to be drowning. She was gasping for air. Her heart was pounding.

What kind of phenomenon is happening right now?

She didn't like the way she was reacting after seeing this strange man. Francine had met a lot of boys in the school and in the pack. But nobody gave her this emotion.

Only this man.

Her knees were still trembling, and she almost slipped on the last step of the staircase, luckily her father helped her.

The man's stare was mesmerizing. His menacing glare seemed to gnaw at her skin.

"Are you all right, Francine?" Her father asked worriedly.

"I-I’m fine, daddy,” She uttered.

Beatriz appeared from the kitchen, a large saucepan in her hand. "I'm glad your father woke you up quickly, Francine. I've finished cooking dinner. Please help me set the table,"

Francine didn't seem to hear anything, and her gaze remained fixated on the man.

Her father cleared his throat when he realized where she was staring.

"I nearly forgot..." Her father took her by the elbow and led her to the man who still held her gaze.

"Francine, he is Azure, and Francine, she is Azure. My only daughter, the Luna Princess of the pack,"

"A-Azure..." She couldn't say his name on her own, but it's lovely, and he complements it.

"W-What does he want from you, daddy?"

Azure was going to say anything when Zeke interrupted him. Her father breathed deeply. "He doesn't need anything from me, Francine. Nevertheless, Azure will now live with us."

"What?!" Francine feels dizzy at what her father said.
