06 FAKE BOYFRIEND

ABIGAIL POV's

I slumped down on my seat between Mia and Cora, not minding to greet them as soon as I stepped inside our room. My body, as well as my legs and feet, still ache because of running, climbing, and jumping at the ten-foot wall for the first time in my life, and even I can't believe I did it. My god, that guy is something. It's just a damn single picture. He won't die because of it. If only I knew that damn picture would turn my life into hell, I never stole that damn thing. I cursed and laid my head on my folded arms above my desk, feeling frustrated with myself for doing a stupid thing that resulted in my misery.

"Bad morning?" Mia whispered, wearing a teasing smile on her lips.

"Just tired," I answered, ignoring that playful glint in her eyes. Mia sometimes really can be annoying that I wanted to choke her and never let go until her breath left her.

Sometimes, she's very insensitive to my annoyance, or maybe she just having fun annoying me every day. Still, how insensitive she is to my annoyance. She's susceptible to my pain. She's always the first to notice when I have a problem. I'm hurt or in pain. She's always there during the ups and downs of life, and the same with Cora. That's why I can't decline them if they ask me something. When you say something, anything, as long as I can do it, they're my everything, my only family. They're all I have. They're not just my friends but my sisters.

"Why? Your hot boyfriend tires you?" Mia teased, grinning. Cora giggled at my other side and then nudged me. "Yes!" I want to answer, but I'm sure they will misunderstand it. Mia has a filthy thought about everything.

"I was chased by a dog yesterday on my way to work; that's why my feet hurt." I half lied. The two burst into laughter.

"I'm sure the dog chased you because the dog thought you were a bone." Mia laughed. I glared at her and smacked her arm. "You need to eat more, Abby. Even the dog wants you." She laughs again. Can't she see that I felt offended by her words? This girl, really, her lips never ceased to mock me every single day of my life that we were together.

"I'm not a bone. That dog is just crazy." I defended myself, pouting.

"Whatever you say." She laughed. I glared at her and quickly straightened up in my seat when our teacher arrived.

We went to the cafeteria as soon as the bell for the lunch break rang. We ordered food quickly, settled at our usual table, and ate.

"Abby, can I borrow your phone?" Mia asked, not looking at me. She was looking behind me, eyes wide open as if she saw a ghost, the same as Cora.

"Why?" I asked, confused, wondering why their reaction was like that.

"Just give me your phone." She urged me. I glared at her but handed my phone to her. She hurriedly unlocked it, and then she gasped. Cora also looked at my phone, and they both gasped, looking behind me again, their finger pointing at something or someone. I looked behind me, curious, and I gasped.

"I'm dead." Our eyes met, and he grinned. I quickly stood up, ready to leave, but Mia and Cora grasped my wrists.

"Where are you going?" They grinned.

"I'm really going to die now.

MATTHEW POV's

A minute after we arrived at our new school, I quickly searched for the girl from yesterday. I looked at every girl we passed to see her but failed. We went to our room, but my eyes were fixed outside the window, hoping she'd passed our room, but until the lunch break came, I didn't see her.

"Maybe she's absent today."

We went to the cafeteria for lunch with my eyes roaming around. We get our food and search for a vacant table. But my eyes went to the two girls pointing a finger at us. I frowned, but when the other girl that was facing her back at us slowly turned around. A grin instantly forms on my lips without noticing it.

"What are you grinning? Found something interesting?" Andrew whispered beside me. I ignored him and hurriedly made my way to their table when I saw that she stood up from her seat, and my grin grew wider when the two girls with her held her wrist.

"I won't let you escape today." I thought.

"Hi!" I greeted them. "Can we join in your table?" I greeted them and placed my food tray on the table without waiting for their answer.

I sat beside her, and I saw that she started sweating. She was fiddling her finger on her lap, head hanging down.

"Oh my god. Abby didn't tell us that you're studying her also." the red-haired girl said. So her name is Abby—nice name for a mysterious girl.

"But what she meant that Abby didn't tell them I'm studying here?"

"And James. What a small world." The red-haired girl grinned at James, who also smiled at her with a surprised look on his face. The girl stood up and gave James a quick hug. They knew each other?"

"I'm sorry about last time. Abby turned down the blind date. Abby, James is supposedly your blind date." Abby looked up this time at James, surprised, blushing.

"Oh really? It should have been fun." James said, smiling, and sat on the other side of Abby.

"She didn't go because she already has a boyfriend, and I didn't know that you and....

"Mia, shut up, and I mean it." Abby burst out, throwing a murderous stare at the girl named Mia. She quickly shut up, and I could see fear in her.

"Wow, feisty." I mentally smile. What is really the reason behind all of this... "Yah!!! I almost fell from the ground when Abby quickly pulled me from my seat and dragged me out of the cafeteria. Wow, this girl, despite her small and thin figure, was undoubtedly strong. She dragged me behind the school, then let go of my wrist.

"Yah! What's that for?" I seethed, glaring at her, but I gasped when she quickly kneeled in front of me. "Yah....wha...what are you doing?" I stuttered, surprised.

"Please forgive me. I didn't mean to steal your picture and lie to my friends. I do it because they always force me to go on a blind date. You heard it earlier: your friend is one of the blind dates my friends set for me. I didn't want to do it anymore, so I told them I already had a boyfriend to stop them.

"And the boyfriend you are saying...

"You. I stole a picture of you and showed it to my friends and told them that you are my boyfriend. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, but please, can you pretend to be my boyfriend? I don't want to go on a blind date anymore. Please."

"And why should I do that? We are not friends; we don't know each other, and I bet you don't know my name, and it will only ruin my reputation. I don't date a girl dressed like an old lady." I raised my eyebrow at her.

"I know we don't know each other, but please help me. I will never forget it until I die. I will owe you big time." She said, still kneeling in front of me.

"I don't want to." I quickly turned around to go back inside the cafeteria, but Abby hugged my legs, still kneeling.

"Please, please, I'm begging you." She pleaded, looking at me like a lost puppy.

"Yah! let go of my leg." She hesitantly removed her arms from me, head hanging down like a kid reprimanded by her father.

"Just said no if you don't want to go with that blind date."

"But I can't see no to them."

"And why is that?"

"Because I owed them."

"You owed them? And how was it related to a blind date?"

"They don't ask anything in return for helping me, and agreeing with the blind date can make them happy, then be it."

"And how about me? You will use me to play as your boyfriend. I don't care what your friend does to you, don't include me with your shit." I growled at her.

"Please, please, help me. I don't want to go on a blind date anymore. Some of them are jerks and perverts."

"Not my problem." I casually said. "And why not find other guys to act as your fake boyfriend."

"If I did that, my friend would be suspicious. I already told them you're my boyfriend. They will think that I'm only faking the boyfriend thing."

"Please help me." She pleaded. "Just for two weeks, and after that, let's tell them we broke up." I crossed my arm on my chest, looking down at her, who was still kneeling before me.

"And what would I gain for doing this favor for you?" She quickly looked up and almost fell on the ground, her long, curly, and thick lashes curtain her golden brown eyes looking up at me, with a smile on her thin and pink lips that looked so soft. Her face is flawless, and her nose is pointed and cute. What the hell am I thinking? I quickly remove my eyes away from her, clearing my throat.

"What do you want me to do in return? Just name it." She said, a smile not leaving from her lips.

"Let's go back; I'm sure they're wondering why you instantly pulled me away," I said and walked away from her, but she quickly caught up and held my wrist.

"You'll help me, right?" I clicked my tongue, continued walking, and returned to the table where we sat earlier. The eyes of our friends were on us, but I ignored them and settled in my seat. Abby also sits beside me quietly.

"Care to explain," Mia asked. "Okay, never mind to explain. How about an introduction? Abby, can you introduce your boyfriend to us?"
