Chapter 5 I

“Listen up everyone,” Gabi said as she barged into the board meeting room, she seemed very excited because indeed she had great news for the company.

“I’ve got a gig for us and it’s a big one!” She jumped like a 15 year old girl receiving a brand new car as her birthday present. I sighed heavily because the fact that I was here witnessing all this bullshit just pissed me off

“What is it Gabi? You’ve got to say something” Nate, the guy from the cafeteria who was her number one admirer rushed to her side, eagerly waiting for his eye candy to sprout nonsense and he’d still worship her. I was like, oh please… just wait till she embarrasses you and then you’ll know your boundaries 

“Yes well, the senator for oil and gas is moving to Konan city and she wants a renovation! And we are going to be there, this Friday to discuss the plans and how she wants it to look like but I want us to make like a model we will use to pitch our idea to her so we can get the job”

“That’s so awesome!”

“We are going to nail this!”

“Lets get creative!”

That was all I could hear, it seemed like everyone was full on excited about this job. I hope they do it well though, I’m not going to be around anyway…

“Don’t go thinking nonsense, you know we need you” A rasp voice said from above me and I looked up to see Ray

“Dude, she said She doubts my credibility. You guys got this, let Jerry come up with some models and you’re good to go” I shrugged 

“But then when it comes down to presentation, you’re the top notch. I didn’t even know you were saying nonsense that day until she pointed it out. Now, what would we do if we had contenders there and they were as good as you huh? What would we do?” He crossed his arms and waited for an answer

“First of all, no one is as good as me. Second of all, if that happens then you guys will fail and she would be upset and lessen her stock up bitchy attitude, as long as I don’t get fired I have no problem with whatever you guys do over there”

Main land…

People as such a pain in the ass you know. I sighed as I looked around the senator’s waiting office, we were in her house and currently waiting to pitch our idea to her. Some of our top contenders are present and I can tell that they have good models and materials to win her over, I think it’s about time Miss Gabi understands that life isn’t all about winning, if you don’t fail then you won’t learn from your mistakes. I just want to see her cry when she misses this opportunity, Ahhhh! I just can’t wait to see her perfectionist life style crumble to ashes and that’s why I agreed to come in the first place, but I’m not doing anything, I’m not even going to say a word to the senator, let the others handle it. That’s my motto for today

“MRC? You’re up next” The care taker of the house signaled for us to enter. It’s show time…

Theo smirked as he prepared for the drama ahead, he sat where he could see her in all of her glory, where she would speak highly and then be disappointed. After all, she said she didn’t want to be like other presidents of the company, she wanted to be in the field with her workers and she wanted to win along side them, bla bla bla. Well she’s going down, because it’s not all about brilliant ideas, if it were that then other contenders like GOC would surely win the senator over with their high priced materials and luxurious model. No, it’s not about the idea, it’s about the convincing, the sweet talk that would make someone bend to your every rule. She just doesn’t get it.

Few hours later…

They tried, but I could already see that the senator was already thinking about the GOC's model, there was simply nothing they could bring to the table to make her change her mind. That’s GOC for ya…

“You’ve done well Miss Gabi, all of you. But you see, I want something much more sophisticated and you are just not giving me what I want. What you are offering here is comfortable, good life but that’s not what I want, no no, I want people to be dazzled from the moment they walk into my house, I don’t think your company is going to give me what I want, thank you for your time but I’m sorry. You’re just not the one” She shrugged and I could see faces starting to fall, this is what I anticipated! Now where is she…

I turned to my boss and there she was… It took everything in me to contain my laughter in this awkward moment. Just imagine you tearing up from laughter when your company just got rejected from a big deal worth chunk of money. Wait a minute… chunk of money??

Gabi you had better not loose this deal because it’s whole chunk of money!! I turned to Gabi with a serious look on my face and I tried to get her attention but it seemed like she was already thinking of another way to win the senator “But senator, if we go through this one more time, you’ll love_” 

“Gabi that’s enough. I’ve heard enough now if you don’t have anything more to say then you may leave” The senator said with a Stern voice.

I admit, it was fun watching everyone’s sad faces and Gabi’s cold rejection but I can’t just let a big bonus pass me by, I could do a lot of things with that bonus money we would get. 

I can’t let things end this way...
