Kidnapped

Two months later, Callie had a slight step behind as she entered her office."It's an early morning for you today,” she remarked as she stood in the doorway to her office. "I'll have some coffee ready for you in a few minutes," Ruth said heading back to make coffee for Callie.

It was Friday and Callie needed to check her mail and schedule for the day because she wanted to finish up on time and get home as early as possible that evening.

Upon going through her iPad, she noticed her phone beeping, It was an unfamiliar number at first, and she hadn't wanted to pick it up.

But the phone kept ringing, so she eventually picked it up. She gasped softly, not expecting to hear the caller on the other end.

She regretted picking up the call immediately when she heard Veronica introduce herself.

"Callie, please this is Veronica Sutton, can we talk? Where are you? Do you have any spare time right now? Can we meet and talk?"

There was only one thing that made her upset: Veronica called her.
