CHAPTER TWENTY

SoraElias wasn't coming home tonight and it seemed he too was busy to answer my call.The last call we made was around seven in the evening, telling me he was heading off for an event.
I climbed into bed with my hand on my bump when my phone rang loud.
Lucy was calling as I wondered what could be so important that she'd call me this late.
"Lucy is everything okay?" I asked drunk in sleep as I rubbed my eyes.
"Sora you have to come to the hospital." She sobbed, "Edith is dying."
I felt my heart stop as the phone fell from my hand.
I could hear Lucy's voice calling out my name as my belly squirmed in pain.
I rubbed it as gently as I could to smooth the baby before I painfully picked up my phone which cracked.
