"Who are these people and why are you in this photo with them?" Priest showed his mother the photo he had found buried in one of the many wet rotten boxes down in the basement.

The picture piqued his curiosity so he abandoned his chores and raced back upstairs to his mother's bedroom. Just to find her sitting in front of her vanity, fixing her makeup for her number twentieth foredoomed-to-fail dates.

Sometimes, he wondered why she even bothered.
