Rhys's POV

Elena's threat about a family funeral still echoed in my ears as I looked at Chris, my brother, apparently. The word felt foreign, like a language I'd never learned to speak. Thirty-four years old, and I was just now discovering I had a sibling.

"We need to get everyone inside," Margaret said, scanning the street nervously. "Elena's somewhere close if she can access speakers on the property."

"Actually," Chris said, pulling out his phone, "I think I know where those speakers are coming from." He held up his device, showing an app I'd never seen before. "My car's Bluetooth is connected to Emma's outdoor sound system. Elena must have hacked it remotely."

"That's terrifyingly advanced," Emma said from the doorway, holding Finn's hand.

"Elena's always been good with technology," Margaret replied grimly. "Among other things."

As we moved toward the house, I found myself walking beside Chris. The similarity in our gaits was unsettling had we always moved the same way, or was I ju

  • PREGNANT and REJECTED by the BILLIONAIRE    Chapter 122: The Game Master

Margaret's POV The roller coaster car swayed dangerously fifty feet above the ground as I worked to free myself from the ropes. Elena thought she was so clever, but she'd made one crucial mistake – she'd underestimated me. I pressed the tiny transmitter hidden in my shoe against the metal floor of the car. "Control, this is Phoenix," I whispered into the device. "I'm in position. Confirm backup units are ready." A voice crackled back through my earpiece. "Phoenix, this is Command. SWAT teams are positioned at all perimeter points. FBI negotiators are standing by. We're ready to move on your signal." "Negative," I said quietly. "Hold position until I give the all-clear. Elena has backup plans we haven't accounted for." The truth was, I'd been playing a deeper game than anyone realized. For six months, I'd been feeding Elena exactly what she wanted to hear while secretly working with a joint FBI-CIA task force to bring down her entire operation. Elena thought she was the puppet m

  • PREGNANT and REJECTED by the BILLIONAIRE    Chapter 121: Impossible Choices

Lyra's POV Twenty-eight minutes.I stared at the countdown timers on the screens, my heart pounding so hard I could feel it in my throat. Two people I loved more than life itself, and I could only save one of them.I had to move. Standing here wouldn't save anyone.Elena's men had cut the zip ties on my hands before leaving me alone in the funhouse. She wanted me to be able to run, to try, to hope. The cruelty of giving me just enough freedom to torture myself with choices.I looked at the park map Elena had left on a table nearby. The hall of mirrors was marked in red on the north side. The bumper cars were marked in blue on the south side. Between them lay a maze of broken rides, collapsed buildings, and overgrown pathways. But there were other markings on the map. Small symbols that looked like puzzles or riddles. Elena hadn't just hidden my family, she'd created a twisted game for me to play.I grabbed the map and ran toward the exit of the funhouse. Outside, the abandoned amusem

  • PREGNANT and REJECTED by the BILLIONAIRE    Chapter 1120: Taken

Elena's POVThe abandoned amusement park looked like something from a horror movie in the moonlight. Rusted roller coaster tracks twisted against the sky like metal bones, and the old carousel horses stared blindly into the darkness with their painted eyes. Perfect setting for what I had planned.I watched through the security monitors as my men dragged Lyra through the entrance gates. She was fighting them every step of the way, kicking and screaming like a wildcat. Good. I wanted her to have some fight left in her for what came next."Bring her to the funhouse," I said into my radio. "And be gentle. We need her conscious and uninjured."The funhouse had been my base of operations for weeks. The maze of mirrors and false walls made perfect cover, and the sound system still worked after all these years. I'd spent considerable time and money restoring just enough of the park to make it functional for tonight's finale. My phone buzzed with a text from my inside man: *Package two and thr

  • PREGNANT and REJECTED by the BILLIONAIRE    Chapter 118: DNA Deceptions

Lyra's POVI stared at Chris and Rhys, trying to see the resemblance that should have been obvious. Now that I knew they were brothers, I could see it in the way they both ran their hands through their hair when stressed, the stubborn set of their jaws, the protective way they both positioned themselves when they sensed danger."Brothers," I said, the word feeling strange in my mouth. "You're actually brothers."Chris was still staring at Rhys like he was seeing a ghost. "All this time, we were fighting over you, and we're...""Family," Rhys finished quietly. "That explains a lot, actually.""Explains what?" I asked.Rhys sat down heavily on the porch steps. "Why I never really hated you," he said to Chris. "Even when you were trying to steal my wife, even when I wanted to punch you, there was always something that held me back. Something that made me want to protect you instead of destroy you."Chris nodded slowly. "I felt it too. The competition between us felt like sibling rivalry,

  • PREGNANT and REJECTED by the BILLIONAIRE    Chapter 117: Blood Relations

Chris's POVThe world felt like it was spinning off its axis. I sat on Emma's porch steps, staring at my hands, trying to process what Margaret had just told us. David Chen was my father. The man whose case had brought me into Lyra's life was the same man who'd given me life thirty-four years ago."Chris," Lyra said softly, sitting down beside me but careful not to touch. "We need to talk about this."I looked at her, this woman I'd fallen in love with, who I'd been ready to build a life with and saw my sister. Half-sister. The distinction didn't matter. The damage was done."What is there to talk about?" I asked, my voice hollow. "We can't be together. We can never be together.""I know that," she said, and the pain in her voice matched my own. "But we can figure out how to move forward from this. How to still be... family."The word felt foreign and strange. Family. I'd spent most of my life believing I had no real family, no blood connections. Now I had a sister, a nephew, and a st
