“KATE.”
She turned behind her. Jona was inside there, peeing.
“Is there a problem?” She dried her hands with a paper towel and strode towards the door.
“Do you have a pad with you?” her friend asked in a low tone. “My period came early, and I don’t have one right now.”
“Oh, wait. Let me check my bag. I think I have one.”
Kate came out of the restroom and went back to their classroom, where she left her bag. She took the sanitary pad that had been staying inside her bag for weeks now and gave it to Jona as soon as she came back.
