Julia’s POV

Everything was different now. The halls felt so empty and dinner time was so quiet without Imogen’s noisy eating. I had no one to talk to, no one to console me when I drenched my pillows with tears.

Agatha was gone and so was Imogen, they only family I had. I felt scared, abandoned and so alone. It was my childhood all over again.

Mrs. Livingston wasted no time in replacing Agatha, with another older lady, with an aristocratic air about her. Consuelo. She almost never smiled and wasted no time in changing almost everything around the house.

Tristan did not return from Portland with me, just like the last time and a week had gone by and he still hadn’t returned. Which was a good thing. I certainly hadn’t missed him or the way he evaded my body. It was a good thing he was away, but that was until he returned last night.

Josh on the other hand, didn’t not want anything to do with me, not that I blame him. Even when we ran into each other at the funeral and sometimes in the y

Imogen’s POVI couldn’t sleep.I moved around my house restlessly, from my bedroom to the sitting room, back to my bedroom then to the bathroom and finally to Ollie’s room. I leaned against the door frame and watched my little miracle sleep. My number job was to make sure Ollie was safe at every point in time and to make sure he had a normal childhood and by extension, a good life. Whatever this was that Genevieve discovered was dangerous and it cost her life and the life of her little daughter, Mae. I couldn’t do that to Ollie, if I died, who would take of him. He could be thrown into the system or worse, the Livingston’s would take him.And if I was as unlucky as Genevieve, Ollie could die too,Leila’s words replayed in my head. ‘Let it go.’I exhaled noisily. I had to let this one go. There would be other less dangerous ways of bringing down Mason Livingston and the rest of his family. I would stick with Tim’s plan, it might be dangerous but at least it doesn’t involve the mafia.Q

  • Passion or Revenge    51 – Beautiful Devil

Imogen’s POVI tapped my fingers nervously on the steering wheels of my car, parked just across the road from Genevieve’s parents’ home. People trooped in and out of the house, all dressed in either a dark suit or a black dress, with glum looks on their faces and all had umbrellas over their heads.I exhaled noisily, feeling nervous for reasons I couldn’t quite fathom. All I needed to do was blend in, find her parents, give them my condolences and find out whatever I can. There was absolutely nothing to be nervous about.Feeling my courage return, I grabbed my umbrella and stepped out of the warmth of my car and into the cold air. It was drizzling, making the ground sticky and wet.God, I hated the weather in these parts.Hurriedly, I made my way into the house, where it was warm, dry and gloomy. It wasn’t difficult to spot her parents – well parent – just her mother, a chubby woman with short blond hair. People were flocking around her, probably muttering condolences and spewing wor

  • Passion or Revenge    50 – Only for the Plan. Nothing Else.

Imogen's POV The plan had been simple, drop the note and leave. Then kick back and watch Mason panic. Once panic sets in, he would slip up and I would be there to catch him and expose him.But instead, I decided to snoop around his bedroom and his laptop for anything that might be incriminating. That didn’t end well, as here I was in his room, scouring my brain for a ‘not suspicious’ reason for being inside his room. It didn’t help that he had my note in his hand. Now he would be thinking that I had kept it there.Think Imogen, think!I cannot have Mason doubting me, he might also choose to make me and Ollie disappear forever, just like he did Genevieve. If only I had found her earlier, I could have saved her from Mason. But I knew nothing about her or how to find her. Since I could not save her, I would have to get justice for her.“I…um…needed to see you,” I sputtered. He narrowed his eyes, suspicion evident in his blue orbs. I had to do better.“I couldn’t stop thinking about you

  • Passion or Revenge    49 – The Red Note

Mason’s POVDifferent waves of emotion flooded my body, as the news headline replayed in my head over and over again – anger, sadness, confusion and more anger.“I asked you to do one thing Max! Make her disappear before those bastards would get to her!” I barked into my phone, as I paced around my bedroom. I had assured Genevieve that I protect her and her baby. I had promised! Yet, I couldn’t keep the promise I made to her! Genevieve had entrusted her life and her daughter’s to me and I let them down.“I tried but they got to her before I did.”“Genevieve was the only witness we had. And now that is gone, do you understand what this means?” my balled fists shook violently. I was back to square one again, just when everything was beginning to come together!“I am so….”“I will give you a call later,” I hung up, tossing my phone on the bed, before I would say something I would regret. It wasn’t Max’s fault completely, I shared part of the blame. If only I had not involved Genevieve in

  • Passion or Revenge    48 - Maybe

Imogen’s POVI paced around the small room, Jules used as her office, in her bakery.I was beyond furious.I was mad at Mason. Like who the fuck did he think he was? Going around, messing with the lives of women like we didn’t matter. Talking about getting rid of that poor woman and her baby, like they weren’t human beings! I have spent all this time worrying that the Livingston’s might take my child from me if the ever found out about him, while the real danger was that Mason might also want to make us disappear too.More than anything else, I was furious at myself for caving so easily when he touched me. I should never had let him come that close in the first place. I was weak, and that was something I cannot afford to be in front of Mason!I had to find this Genevieve woman and save her. Then together, we would expose Mason Livingston to the world and everyone would finally see him for the monster he is.I will not let him get away with this. Not this time around. Though it might b

  • Passion or Revenge    47 - Nothing to it, but to do it

Mason’s POVI watched Imogen as she hurriedly grabbed her things, literally sprinted out of the room like she was desperately trying to get away from a monster. In this case, the monster was me.I could still remember the first time I had seen her, seven years ago, the night of my homecoming party. She had been a nervous wreck, blushing furiously at every word I said. She was a teenager in love and I was her prince charming.Only that I was no prince charming. My friends had seen her watching me for most of the party and they came up with that stupid bet, just for fun. I went ahead with it, because I was just a dumb, rich brat.If I could go back in time, I would never had made that stupid bet or even made that video of us having sex.It didn’t matter how much I want to wish it away, I couldn’t wish it away. But Imogen had betrayed my trust to. She had beat up my mother and stolen our family heirloom. She could not possibly blame me for throwing her in jail, because she would have don
