Chapter 34

I stared at my bag in disbelief and back at my fingers

“I’m so dead” I muttered

“Maybe you dropped them somewhere…in class” Ariel suggested. She was right, I tried to take it off and put it in my bag but it must have missed the opening and fallen out instead.

I slapped onto my forehead.

“It definitely fell” I agreed, handing her my bag

“Just save me a seat in class..I’ll be right back” I said, rushing back to the class we were once in.

“Excuse me professor!” I yelled, pushing the door open, Prisca was standing close to the door, puzzled at my speed and reaction, I stared at her wide eyed, she gave me a condescending stare, I shot back a glare.

‘What’s she still doing here? I’m sure she’s asking the exact same thing’

“What is it, Miss Princeton?” Julian said, drawing my attention.

“Forgive my intrusions” I apologized “I’m looking for something” I said frantically, rushing to where I

Julian’s POVI stared at the window, the light had definitely been coming out from there, luckily I was informed on time about their arrivalThe thought about having the truth out in the open haunted me, Amelia would be devastated if they were to know about the truth between us and so I cupped her face in my hands, throwing the scarf over her head. I could feel her breathing on my chest as I held onto her so closely, trying to hide her identity from them, she had done well to comply with my quick moves, I was suprised but not too suprised as to reveal the truth or my emotions.“Stay here” I ordered, rushing back inside to get her bag from Ariel who was still out on the corridor holding her bag.“Ariel” I called out to her in a low tone, she turned to me, her eyes holding some type of feeling, I couldn’t tell but I could deduce that she was perplexed, sweat dripping from her face as she held onto the black bag and phone.“Pr

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, parting my hair equally.“Are you ready yet..you know you can’t be late to class” Julian said as he waltzed into the room filling the air with his scent, it felt strong yet gentle on my nostrils, I wasn’t even standing next to him yet they seemed to fill my lungs.‘Snap out of it Amelia’ I thought to myself almost slapping myself across the face.“I’m almost done” I answered, pouting out my lips to put on some lipgloss. After that, I turned to him, his back facing me as I neatly kept his hair to a side, my eyes scanning his sophisticated nature, those black pair of trousers, gray turtleneck top and leathered loafers with a touch of such distinguished wristwatch, he looked amazing.“Woah” I mouthed.I quickly closed up my mouth.“You done?” He asked turning to me.“Uh..yeah” I answered, turning to the door, maybe going to school will make me feel less embarrassed and

Ofcourse he’s awake but for just the moment.“Are you okay?” I panted, “Yeah..yeah I’m fine” “If you can get up, just get to the bed” I said, helping him onto the bed.“Just wait here..okay, and don’t try to hold me” I warned, rushing through the door.I was back quickly with a bowl of water and a rag.“Take off your shirt” I said immediately, putting the rag into the cold water and taking it outTher

Julian’s POV“Thank you Brigs” I said to my chauffeur, handing him the keys as he lightly nodded, acknowledging my appreciation as I got down from the car, I’m used to driving to work on my own but I always thanked Brigs cause he’s one of the only staff that stayed after father’s death.“Why do you want to talk to her so badly?” I heard from inside the house. ‘That seems to me like Maria’s voice’ I thought as I took off my coat.“I have to make her talk to me, that is, if you want what I want” Festus answered.I walked into the house without their noitice as they seemed to be in the living room, completely trying to ignore them.“What will you get from speaking to her?” She asked“I’ll get to tell her the truth about him” he answered.“What truth?” I asked, folding up my sleeves.“The truth of how you’re a murderer!” He answered, his eyes were bold.“I didn’t kill him” I said reluctantly

“I don’t want to speak to you Festus..how many times must I tell you that?!” I yelled, pressing my back against the door.“Please..just let me talk to you” he pleaded“You know how it turned out the last time you tried to talk to me, why cant you give it a rest?” I asked, then looking up at the wall clock that hung above the closet, Julian would be home soon.“Besides, my husband will be back any minute and if he sees you there he’ll definitely give you a matching black eye” I added.“I know, but it’s worth the risk, please Amelia, let’s talk” he said again, this time without the hard banging on the door.I couldn’t understand why but I felt drawn to what the truth could be, from what I had experienced today at his office, it definitely shows that he’s hiding something, something dark.‘Do I really just let him talk to me? I mean it won’t make any difference’ I thought to myself as I paced back and forth in the room.
