Trent lowered her gaze when she realized that Edward had not answered her. She assumed that Edward already had feelings for someone.

Trent knew that Edward did not like her since they were kids.

“Then, do you realize that Hanna had a strong sense of possession toward you? Did she like you, or did you do anything to make her think that you like her?” Trent asked softly, trying not to make things hard.
