“Sheila…”
Jason was still trying to wrap his head around what he had just seen. All these revelations and mysteries were too much to take. Alya witnessed his parents’ deaths? She was in the car with them? Why? How?
He racked his brain to try and recall anything he could before that accident but nothing happened. He had also lost those memories. Was it all a coincidence? Both of them losing the memories of an accident they were involved in so many years ago?
But Sheila died protecting this girl. Jason was still not forgiving his sister but he could not overlook her desperation either.
“I have to find her!” he exclaimed and got off the bed. He rushed past Yang who was on his
Jason bought rice cakes, tomato flavored instant noodles and braised tofu from a store nearby. He asked the cashier to heat them up before striding over to his car to hand them to Alya who was sitting inside. She was excited to get her hands on the food and immediately began to chow down on the noodles with a plastic fork. “Don’t you dare spill anything on the car’s floor!” he warned. “I won’t!” she promised and slowed down to eat carefully. He sighed and drove off. “Will you recognize those men?” he asked. “The ones who killed Sheila?” “I can!” she replied. “If they come in front of me, I can recognize them.” Jason pondered over her words.
Jason was in his office with David who was briefing him for their daily routine.“At 10 AM, you have a meeting with the design team for the dress you’ll be preparing for Oskar Jung,” David stated.“Did they finalize a design?” Jason asked, raising an eyebrow.“Not that I know of,” David confessed. “They are having a hard time with the requirements and they’ll need a lot of guidance.”“You’re saying that Alexandra’s designs are not enough?” Jason demanded. I’m sure she has something up her sleeve!”“Er…” David hesitated. “Sir, how do I put
“Wow!” Alya exclaimed, her eyes widening in awe as she stared at the skyscraper in front of her. The building was the tallest one she had ever seen and she craned her neck to see the top but all she saw was that the building disappeared into the clouds. Alina stood next to her, snickering while David only sighed. He had followed Jason’s instructions and brought them shopping at one of the malls Jason owned. All throughout the ride, Alya had pointed at places and asked him about them which was quite an arduous task. The girl was excited about every little thing as if she had seen them for the first time. She was even about to jump into a manhole to check what it was but David and Alina had to pull her away with great difficulty.Alya was now staring at all the high fashioned people who were entering the mall. She gap
The Cray Town Hotel was a few blocks away from Jason’s office and was one of the most luxurious hotels in the country. Being an exclusive place for VIP’s, the hotel was famous for its venue which was the dream spot for all events. With the largest pillarless hall in the country, it was the perfect place for the fashion show.As soon as Jason entered the large lobby, he was welcomed by several of the staff members. All of them knew who he was and paid extra attention to his needs.“Welcome, Mr. Cho,” the concierge greeted him. “You reservation with Ms. Walter has been booked on the eighth floor.”“Is she here yet?” Jason asked.“Yes,” the concierge replied.
Jason pulled back, making Stephenie purr. They were only beginning to deepen their kiss when Jason felt his heart go cold. It was not simply an emotion nor a brief, fleeting feeling. He literally felt that his heart had become cold to the point that his chest was beginning to cool.“What happened?” Stephenie asked seductively. She ran a finger up his arm. “Why did you pull out? You wanna go someplace more private?”“No, it’s not that…”Jason frowned at the phenomenon that had occurred. This was unusual. He had never heard of the heart becoming icy like this and even if it did, the feeling should have killed him. Instead, the coolness in his chest was increasing as if it was literally turning him into ice. He clutched his
Adrian checked Alya’s vitals while the rest of the group stood outside. Jason had instructed David to take Alina home but the little girl protested and threatened that she would not eat if she was sent back. Seeing how determined she was, he had to resign to her demands. She was now seated on a bench while Jason was pacing to and fro.“This woman sure is a troublemaker,” he sighed.“It’s your fault anyway,” Alina muttered but Jason did not hear it. Now that they were at the hospital and the girl was being treated, his rational thoughts were returning. He was wondering why Alya did not inform him about any pre-existing heart condition. It was not like he would have thrown her out but the people in the mansion would have been more careful. Maybe the long shopping trip had tired her out and was too mu
“I’ll give you all a moment alone,” Maxwell’s Secretary said and backed away from the room.Jason’s mouth gaped open but before he could say anything, Maxwell pushed his grandson out of the way and studied Alina very carefully. He peered at her carefully. The little girl stared back at him. She had the same jet black hair as Jason and her eyes were the same shape as Jason’s…“Grandfather, it’s not what you think-” Jason began but Maxwell turned around and to everyone’s surprise, began to beat his grandson with the walking stick.“OW!” Jason protested as he dodge the old man’s attacks. “What the hell are you doing you old man?”
Both Jason and Alya were shocked at the bold little girl. The second condition had rattled Jason to the core while Alya was inwardly delighted. Ever since Alya had told her about the pearl incident, Alina had done some digging on the internet. Even though mermaids were considered to be mythical creatures, there were many lores on them. One of the famous lores talked about a mermaid who lived hundreds of years ago and had given away her pearl to a human. When the human betrayed her and fell in love with someone else, the mermaid began to experience constant pain in the heart until one day, her one year was over and she disappeared into the sea. Ever since Alya suffered the heart attack, Alina suspected that it was because her uncle had been fooling around with someone else. Now that they had him under their thumb, it w
