Chapter 5 Where Is The Truth?

“Miss Rong, my employer has paid for your grandmother’s medical bills.” The driver handed several invoice statements to Jenna.

Jenna shakily accepted the invoice statements, and when she saw the purchase of the medicine stated on it, her heart finally felt at ease. She asked eagerly, “Did Shawn send you to pick me up?”

She knew there were security cameras installed at the entrance to the Seabright building. Shawn would have definitely seen her through them!

The driver shook his head. “Mr. Sadler has taken everything away from you and even compared you to a dog. What are you still hoping for?”

He pulled open the door to the backseat. “Miss Radcliff, please.”

Jenna raised her head to see a man sitting in the backseat of the car. His legs were crossed as smoke shrouded his fingertips. All he did was sit, but it made him seem unapproachable.

“I don’t know your employer…”

“He will tell you whatever you want to know,” The driver said. “By the way, he doesn’t like waiting on people.”

Jenna understood what he meant.

She did not know the man’s motives but was desperate for the truth. She gritted her teeth as she got up from the ground. The moment she moved, blood flowed from the unhealed wound on her leg afresh.

The driver immediately bandaged Jenna’s wound and passed her a towel. Then, Jenna got into the car and sat beside the man.

The car very quickly started to move.

With the help of the light in the car, Jenna looked at the man’s flawless side profile, who had a cigarette held between his long fingers. His side profile… It was very familiar.

Jenna pursed her lips. “What is it you want to tell me?”

The man did not answer but instead turned toward her. His cold eyes swept over her and finally stopped at her neck.

“Return the necklace to me.” His voice was low, with a hint of coldness.

Jenna reflexively touched the necklace around her neck and processed the word “return”. When she realized that the necklace had been left behind by the man that night, her body trembled with anger.

“S-so, the man that night was you!” She had seen his side profile in the pictures before!

“You were the one who sent that text, too, weren’t you?” Jenna said accusingly, raising her hand to slap him. “You beast!”

“I did not send you a text, but I did book that room.” The man lifted his gaze and swept a glance at her. “Do you want to know why you ended up entering my room that night?”

Jenna’s hand stopped midair.

She remembered she had indeed walked to the door and was about to knock on it when she was pushed into the room from behind.

“What are you talking about?” Jenna huffed an angry laugh. “The room was booked by you. If you weren’t the one who sent that text, then who did? I have no grievances or grudges against you. Why do you want to harm me?”

Quinn Forester scoffed coldly. “What a fool!”

Jenna was struck speechless.

Before Jenna could react, Quinn had already plucked the necklace from her neck. He took a handkerchief to wipe it as he instructed the driver. “Go to the hotel and let Miss Radcliff see the truth.”

“Yes, sir.”

Not long after, the car arrived at the Orchid Pavilion Hotel’s basement parking.

This hotel did not hold good memories for Jenna. As she recalled the scenes from that morning, she trembled.

Her leg was covered in bandages. On top of that, she was soaked to the bone. She was as miserable as she could be.

She followed Quinn Forester into a room, and clutching at the towel draped over her, she furrowed her brows as she asked, “Where is the truth?”

Quinn cast a glance at the driver.

The driver immediately took the remote control to turn on the LCD TV hanging on the wall. Soon, the layout of a room appeared on the television.

It seemed to be a real-time security feed.

Jenna saw two familiar people enter the room. It was Shawn Sadler, who she had just divorced, and her best friend, Yvonne Nelson!

“Sean, congratulations on having gotten what you wished for.” Yvonne hugged Shawn from behind, her slender and beautiful hands wandering all over his body. “Though, you really are vicious. You didn’t leave even a single penny for Jenna Radcliff. I heard the medicine her grandmother needs is very expensive!”

“She’s just an old woman. She’s better off dead anyway.” Shawn’s tone of voice was cold. He turned to give Yvonne a deep kiss. “It’s also thanks to you getting your hands on those shareholders’ weaknesses that I managed to get Seabright’s shares from them so successfully and conquered Seabright in one fell swoop.”

“You’re my boyfriend, after all. Who else would I help if not you?” Yvonne playfully punched him. “I’ve also taken care of the police. Even if Jenna lives, she won’t be able to find anything. However, Shawn, did you have to be so ruthless? You even dare to lay your hands on your adoptive parents.”

When she heard Yvonne say all this, Jenna’s mind blanked out. She swayed, falling into a broad chest.

It turned out her parents did not die in an accident. Shawn had killed them!
