LOGINAlpha Killian sighed then rested his head on his palms, his elbows on the desk. He was exhausted, not physically but emotionally.
When he saw Kenzie for the first time in front of his office, the wave of electricity he felt was overwhelming. It was something he had never felt before. His knees were going to give up on him but fortunately for him, she left and he regained himself.
As she left, he wanted so badly to run after her and claim her, he wanted to tell her not to ever leave him and wrap his arms around her and leave his scent all over her but he couldn't do any of it because Kenzie was a human.
There's a law governing every pack to ensure that their identity is secured and they are all safe and that law is if any of them have a human mate, they must reject her immediately. The humans cannot feel the mating bond like they do hence their love is unrequited.
It was too risky to make the humans fall for them and then tell them they were werewolves, the humans might not accept the situation and might even reveal their identity hence that law was put in place.
That was one of the reasons why today was particularly draining for Killian. Kenzie had barged into his office and demanded a second chance.
He knew she couldn't work in his agency but part of him wanted to spend some time with her even though it'll lead to nothing. He still remembered their days as kids but unfortunately, he had to learn she doesn't remember him at all. Although he messed up the second chance he was supposed to give her, he secretly rooted for her. He also fought with himself not to grab her, tell her that they used to be friends, reveal his identity, and confess his feelings. It was a constant battle every time she got a little close. Every time she got closer, he felt a volt of electricity but he was the only one and she felt nothing at all, he broke his heart every time that happened and he realized the essence of the law in place.
At the end of it all, Kenzie left angrily, he was supposed to follow her and reject her immediately according to the law but his leg stood still. No matter how hard he tried to move, he couldn't.
It was strange as he had never lost control of himself before but dismissed it as one of the side effects of seeing his mate.
After a while in his office, trying to make sense of his actions and what he should do next, he decided going home, taking a cold long shower, and sleeping was the best thing to do as he still felt some charge all over his body.
He was going to clear his head and once he was calmer, he'll decide what to do then.

He got home and immediately went to his room. The bed was already made so he collapsed on it face down. He abandoned his original intentions of showering first and just wanted to have his head on the ground.
Moments after he entered his room, someone knocked on the door. The person revealed herself to be his mother and he let her come in.
He sat up as she entered, but soon realized he was going to have an ear full from the way the corner of her eyes twitched and the blank face she put on.
He sighed before she could say anything but that didn't make her reconsider her words.
She told him about how an Alpha younger than him had gotten married today and he was still without Luna at his side. She told him if he wanted to be taken seriously, he had to get himself a Luna even though he didn't find his mate.
"Your end goal is to become Alpha king right? Then how can you be without a Luna? You won't be taken seriously and all your hard work in making the agency and securing it will all be for nothing." She whined. "You need to take someone as your Luna, how about Stella, your best friend? You trust her so why not make her Luna?" She suggested but Killian immediately refused.
His refusal wasn't the end of it all. This was a natural occurrence every time someone else got married and he was used to it but today he wanted peace. He knew he wouldn't be getting it and out and needed to find a way out.
"I arranged a blind date for you, no need to thank me." She announced and Killian groaned from frustration.
He knew this was one of the options he'd be getting today so he decided to take it, it wasn't his first time on a blind date so he knew how he'd handle the situation.
He left for the date, happy he was away from his mother. He arrived at the restaurant a little earlier than planned but minutes later, he caught the scent of Kenzie.
He immediately looked out the window and saw her striding over to a bar close by, her head was hung low and her eyes gleamed.
Seeing her like that made him feel a little guilty. She was about to cry and he wondered if he was the cause of it.
Curiosity got the better of him and he followed her inside. He sat at one of the tables directly behind her while she sat on one of the stools close to the bartender.
He watched as she got drunk and badmouthed him. He feared she was getting too drunk but he couldn't interfere until she started making a scene.
The bartender had to make her leave and the kind tone he had been using for her had disappeared. He felt his blood boil and before he knew it, he was behind Kenzie.
"Don't you dare talk to her like that!" He threatened through gritted teeth.
The bartender was taken aback by his sudden interference. Killian also appeared very intimidating and he quickly apologized.
Killian turned to Kenzie and tried to make her stand up but once she gave a good look at him, she immediately pulled away.
"No! I don't want to go with you, you're mean!" She slurred out and staggered back, she staggered to the stool she was previously sitting on and almost fell but Killian wrapped his arms around her and then brought her to his chest.
He felt a tingling sensation all over his body and he wanted to hug her but was brought back to reality when he felt a little sting on his left cheek.
"I didn't know you were that kind of person." She mumbled before passing out.
He stared at her unconscious body in shock for a few seconds before the corner of his lip curled up and he let out a small chuckle. He felt butterflies in his stomach from the physical contact but he decided it would be best if he took her out of the bar.
He walked her out of the bar and to the restaurant where he kept his car. He opened the car door so she'd get in but she refused to move.
He sighed then lifted her from behind and tried to force her in but she parted her legs and placed each on the sides of the door, stopping her from getting in.
"I'm going to beat you up!" She yelled.
After several attempts and she wouldn't bulge, he decided he had to walk her home instead.
They walked for a while with him behind her and she led them to her house. He laughed as she let herself go and played around, it amused him and after a long time, he was laughing again. She turned to him and she smiled at him for the first time and at that moment, the clock struck twelve and the full moon hung high in the sky, Killian's eyes suddenly darkened and all his desires were unleashed. He felt someone else taking control and dashed towards Kenzie at the speed of light, Kenzie blinked and staggered back trying to make sense of what happened but Killian held her firm in place and then leaned towards her shoulder.

Kenzie dunk the entire glass of alcohol down her throat immediately the glass was set in front of her. "More!" She shouted then slammed the glass on the table in front of her, fortunately, the glass didn't break but it earned her a lot of stares from still sobbed people trying to enjoy their evening. A young man, in a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up which exposed his muscles and had a lot of women at the bar swooning over him, he walked over to Kenzie behind the counter with a bottle of whiskey. "I mean, I know they didn't want to give me a chance in the first place but…" Kenzie trailed off with a slur in her words. The bartender pours her drink and then closes the bottle back. "But what?" The bartender asked, encouraging her to speak further, Kenzie blinked continuously as she struggled to keep her eyes open. "But what they did was too much! Why are they putting on a show like that? It's an interview to be a bodyguard!" She continued, her voice was very loud and the low m
Alpha Killian buried himself under the pile of paperwork on his desk but after a few hours, he was tired of going through and left his office. He went to the training room where he watched his bodyguards practice on treadmills, fighting rings, weight lifting, and sacks. It was a vast space with gym equipment and sweaty people. Gunshots can be heard close by and it's because the room beside this is a shooting range. "Alpha Killian, you requested for me?" Matthias, Alpha Killian's beta asked as soon as he was inches away from him. He followed Killian's eyes to the people training. "So I want to know how the new trainees are doing?" Killian said, still looking ahead. "They are doing great, even better than expected. They have a lot of zeal." Matthias responded and then pointed at five different people busy training. "They are the new trainees, two are at the shooting range. They are all around the age of 20 to 22." Killian carefully observed the five people Matthias had pointed out,
The wind blew angrily as it began to pour, air was suffocating to a particular someone. The noise from the downpour overshadowed all the chatters, sniffles, and sobs in the gloomy environment.A woman, in her mid-thirties, dressed in a black blouse and loose pants walked closer to Kenzie and took the umbrella she was holding, and opened it. She covered herself and Kenzie with it. "Stay under cover, baby." Kenzie's mother, Mrs. Whitney Davison instructed her, her voice was low and it was almost inaudible."My condolences." Someone walked to Kenzie and said softly as she patted Kenzie's back. She turned to Mrs. Davison and repeated her words. Mrs. Davison nodded but Kenzie remained silent, her gaze never let the tombstone in front of her. Down here it was written, 'In loving memory, Mr Andrew Davison. A kind and loving husband and father.' A tear rolled down Kenzie's cheek, her eyes were dark and seemed to have shrunk, her cheeks were bright red and her lips were wet but it wasn't lip
