Kenzie dunk the entire glass of alcohol down her throat immediately the glass was set in front of her.

"More!" She shouted then slammed the glass on the table in front of her, fortunately, the glass didn't break but it earned her a lot of stares from still sobbed people trying to enjoy their evening.

A young man, in a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up which exposed his muscles and had a lot of women at the bar swooning over him, he walked over to Kenzie behind the counter with a bottle of whiskey.

"I mean, I know they didn't want to give me a chance in the first place but…" Kenzie trailed off with a slur in her words. The bartender pours her drink and then closes the bottle back.

"But what?" The bartender asked, encouraging her to speak further, Kenzie blinked continuously as she struggled to keep her eyes open.

"But what they did was too much! Why are they putting on a show like that? It's an interview to be a bodyguard!" She continued, her voice was very loud and the low music in the background couldn't suppress her voice.

"Hey, if you want us to keep talking, you'll have to keep your voice down." The bartender said as he hushed her, he gave her his charming smile that sent butterflies to a lot of girls then turned to attend to another customer.

"Ah, what's wrong with today?" She mumbled under her breath, as she remembered everything that happened in her interview.

She had finally gotten the boss of the agency to give her a chance which wasn't easy, she got it through a lot of back-and-forth bickering and she thought she'd be thrown out of the agency and banned from stepping foot inside until he suddenly agreed and asked her to follow him.

She was completely speechless and shocked he finally agreed but at the same time glad she was able to convince him. She tried to remember which word of her's made him change his mind completely but couldn't think of anything, so she decided to go with it.

He took her to the training room in the agency where a lot of people were training passionately.

The amount of weights they were lifting left her shaking in disbelief and that should have been a warning sign but she ignored it and paid attention to the man that led her there.

"Go inside that room and change, you'll be doing some exercise." He instructed as he pointed at a door, a sign at the top read 'Female Locker room'

She went inside and changed into some shorts that were available in one of the lockers.

She came out feeling a little fulfilled and believed she could blow his mind with her strength but she unfortunately counted her chickens before they hatched.

When she got out, another woman was beside him and they seemed to be in a serious conversation but she interrupted them anyway by clearing her throat which alerted them of her presence.

They didn't seem surprised she was close by and he just ordered her to follow him behind which she did. He took her to a track field.

Kenzie smiled to herself, racing was one of her strengths and was sure she was going to win him over with how fast she could run.

"You'll be compared with her." He announced once they were at the start of the track, he was pointing at the tall brunette that he was talking to before Kenzie interrupted. She was taller than Kenzie but not the boss, he was a head taller with a huge figure that intimidates.

She had followed them to the track field and Kenzie and a feeling she was going to be racing with her but she didn't worry about that, she was sure she'd outrun the brunette's long legs.

"Alright." Kenzie confidently answered and turned to the track in front of her and did some jumping jacks to warm herself up.

"No, you don't get it." He chuckles and Kenzie stops what she is doing and gives her full attention to him again, "You're competing with each other, which means one of you will fail." He added and a smirk appeared on his face.

"You'll both be given three tasks to complete and the one with the highest score wins."

"Alright," Kenzie responded confidently again. The boss shrugs and gives the brunette a look and she gets ready as well.

"On your marks, get ready," he started counting, then brought out a gun from his pocket and fired it to signal them to begin the race.

He also brought out a timer and calculated how fast they ran.

Kenzie was defeated within two minutes and she was panting once she arrived back at the starting line.

"Casey, go wait for me inside." The boss ordered the brunette and with a nod, she left.

"Out of breath?" He mocked Kenzie who was still panting and also trying to figure out what had happened. The way Casey ran seemed so surreal to her. "You know you can save yourself more humiliation and just quit now, you can get some water in front and leave the way you came in." He advised he had a mocking tone in his voice and that infuriated her.

"Oh come on, she has long legs but in the next match, those legs won't help her out." Kenzie marched to the direction Casey went and he followed behind as well.

The next task was lifting weights. The girls were to continue adding kg to their weights until one of them gave up. Casey's body wasn't built at all, it was like she hadn't worked out a day in her life and Kenzie was sure she was going to win this but to her surprise, she had to give up first because she couldn't lift them any longer and if she continued, she'd get herself crushed.

Still bewildered by what happened, she was taken to another room for their next task which was shooting.

Kenzie was sure she had lost but she wanted to defeat Casey at least in one of the tasks so she gave it her all but she lost again. Casey shot with speed and all her shots were on the target.

"This isn't fair!" Kenzie complained immediately as they gathered again, "Isn't the agency supposed to train me? Why did you make me compete with someone who you've trained?" She complained bitterly.

"Casey, is what she's saying true?" He asked Casey to which Casey shook her head.

"Listen, Miss Kenzie, Casey here is just like you, she's seeking employment and I can only hire one of you so I made you compete, what's so wrong about that?"

"Miss Kenzie, I'd advise you to give up on any hope of coming into this agency because you were given a chance and you couldn't prove yourself. This agency is too superior for you."

His Words stung but he wasn't the one she was worried about, she wondered how she was going to execute her deal with her grandparents.

"Do y'all think I want to be here!?" Kenzie shouted then drank the entire content of the glass of alcohol in front of her in one go.

"More!" She shouted again. Her head was spinning now, her vision was blurry and she was starting to feel a little light-headed.

The waiter didn't attend to her immediately so she waved her hand at him with a drunken smile on her face.

The waiter didn't serve her but got closer to advise her to leave. She was already drunk and was starting to make a scene.

Hearing those words, Kenzie started sobbing.

"Shit." The bartender cursed.

"Why does everyone want me gone, today?" She wailed and stomped her feet while sitting.

"Alright, Miss, I'm gonna need you to go home."

"Just one, please." Kenzie puts her hands together and begs, "Just one more shot, please!"

The bartender sighs then obliges her and she drinks it all in one go which burns her chest. She started laughing hysterically and she could be heard from anywhere in the room.

"One more." She pouted at the bartender who had had enough of her by now.

"No miss, I need you to leave now, I can no longer serve you, you're too drunk now and you should go home and rest." He said to her but Kenzie wasn't paying attention to what he had to say.

"I promise, just this last shot." Kenzie tried to persuade him, ignoring all he said and that made the bartender mad.

"Miss, I need you to stand up and leave! Your bill will be added to your tab but for now, you need to leave, you're disturbing my customers!" He shouted at her which stunned everyone at the bar.

His yelling made her place both hands beside her ears and complain about how her head hurt because of his yelling.

The bartender was about to tell her off when he suddenly saw a huge figure behind her, the man behind her was glaring at him and he didn't dare say another word to her.

The figure went over her and stood in front of him and beside Kenzie while he stared stunned at the man.

"How dare you talk to her like that?"

Alpha Killian buried himself under the pile of paperwork on his desk but after a few hours, he was tired of going through and left his office. He went to the training room where he watched his bodyguards practice on treadmills, fighting rings, weight lifting, and sacks. It was a vast space with gym equipment and sweaty people. Gunshots can be heard close by and it's because the room beside this is a shooting range. "Alpha Killian, you requested for me?" Matthias, Alpha Killian's beta asked as soon as he was inches away from him. He followed Killian's eyes to the people training. "So I want to know how the new trainees are doing?" Killian said, still looking ahead. "They are doing great, even better than expected. They have a lot of zeal." Matthias responded and then pointed at five different people busy training. "They are the new trainees, two are at the shooting range. They are all around the age of 20 to 22." Killian carefully observed the five people Matthias had pointed out,

The noise from the downpour overshadowed all the chatters, sniffles, and sobs in the gloomy environment.A woman, in her mid-thirties, dressed in a black blouse and loose pants walked closer to Kenzie and took the umbrella she was holding, and opened it. She covered herself and Kenzie with it. "Stay under cover, baby." Kenzie's mother, Mrs. Whitney Davison instructed her, her voice was low and it was almost inaudible."My condolences." Someone walked to Kenzie and said softly as she patted Kenzie's back. She turned to Mrs. Davison and repeated her words. Mrs. Davison nodded but Kenzie remained silent, her gaze never let the tombstone in front of her. Down here it was written, 'In loving memory, Mr Andrew Davison. A kind and loving husband and father.' A tear rolled down Kenzie's cheek, her eyes were dark and seemed to have shrunk, her cheeks were bright red and her lips were wet but it wasn't lip
