Chapter 12

As Phoenix stood in the shower, watching the blood and chunks go down the drain, she wasn’t injured but felt a significant loss. She only killed in battle, in self-defense. Even the missions she was sent on, these were bad people who had killed the young, had used them for sexual trafficking and abused them beyond belief. It still made her sick to her stomach, but she always remembered what she learned from the Phantom woods about her temper. She practiced keeping her temper in check because she never knew what could happen if she truly lost it.

She stood in the closet finding clothes to put on when there was a knock at the door. She didn’t care that she was in a towel and her hair still wet just said “come in.” In walks Gael who stops and quickly closes the door because he didn’t want anyone to walk by and see what is his. He stood there looking at those beautiful brown smooth legs and arms and imagined what she looked like naked. He adjusted himself and cleared his throat
