Chapter Nine

Once we got to the garage, another pair of security guards were waiting for us. They led us to a black SUV, and opened the door for me to get in to the back.

"Is everything alright, Ms. King?" Edward asked, in an emotionless tone. I nodded as I put my seat belt on, even though I was lying.

Nothing was alright. It had been a long morning, a very long morning. I almost got fired twice, and my face was plastered on every gossip blog and TV show in California for now. Running away to Tennessee wasn't going to make anything better. I just hope that Darcy knows what she's doing, and by the time I get back my name will only be remembered as the millionaire's publicist's.

The two security guards sat next to me, one on each side, then shut the door. I was squished in between their muscular arms, but I couldn't complain. I had a feeling they didn't want to be here either. The windows were so tinted I could barely see outside of them, which was a good thing I guess. If I could barely see out, no one could possibly see in.

We pulled out of the garage and into the busy L.A. street. No one said a word, which made the situation no better.

Fortunately, there weren't as many paparazzi as there were an hour ago, but some still lingered. They tried to snap photos, with each of them climbing over each other.

"Keep your head down, Miss." The guard to my left told me. I did as he instructed. All I could see from the corner of my eye was white flashes of light, and all I could hear was inaudible screaming.

After a couple of minutes, I lifted my head as we sped down the street, leaving the paparazzi away from us. Edward began speaking. "You will pack as many clothes as you can, as well as toiletries, business necessities, anything you may find useful. Right now it is 1:45, so we will pick you up at 3:45."

"Fair enough." I replied.

"When you arrive at the airport we will further explain the situation and what will go on from there."

I nodded, not wanting to speak at the moment. I just wanted to lay down and take a long ass nap, but that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

I looked for the spare key under the door mat, then entered my apartment. Beth and Paul were no where to be found, so I decided to start packing until they arrived. I kicked off my heels and ran to my room, which I always keep clean and spotless, and opened my drawers. I then went into the closet and pulled out a duffel bag, a suitcase and a small carry on bag.

I opened the duffel bag and threw in my undergarments first. Bra's, underwear, a couple pairs of socks even though I wouldn't need them; I always wear high heels, so on a rare occasion I may need to have socks in hand.

After wards, I packed sleeping clothes. I didn't want to spend most of my time searching for the right clothes to wear, so I stuffed more than half of the drawer labeled "sleeping garments" into the duffel bag.

My everyday clothes went into the suitcase, which consisted of my business attire of dresses and skirts. I found some jeans and sweats, along with loose fitting shirts, as well as fitting shirts, and put them in there too. Lastly, I grabbed a couple pairs of heels, a pair of sandals and converse, which I rarely wear, and stuffed them inside. I stood back and examined the two duffel bags, filled to the rim. I sighed contently, knowing I only had toiletries left to pack. I went into me and Beth's small modern kitchen and reached into the cabinet for a freezer bag. I had a weird thing about germs, so my toothbrush would be living in this bag isolated from everything else.

I ran into the bathroom and grabbed my makeup bag, with my brush, comb, some hair ties, deodorant, my tidy nail kit and my small jewelery box.

Once they were all in the duffel bag, I used all of my strength to zip the bag closed. As I was jumping on top of the bag in order for it to close, I heard a rapid knock at the door.

I walked to the door and opened it, to find Beth and Paul standing there happily.

"What the hell is going on, Les?" Beth asked as she kicked off her heels. Paul set his bag on the table and sat on the couch, waiting for me to respond.

"It's a very long story, guys. Sit." Beth looked at me with a worried expression before sitting on the couch next to Paul. I checked my watch; it was currently 2:05, so I had plenty of time to tell them about the chaos this morning.

By the time I finished explaining to them why I was packing, and why I asked them to leave early, their current emotion was the complete opposite from mine:

Excitement.

"Les, three months with him? Are you serious, this shit is gold! You're so lucky..." Beth sighed.

"No, I'm not. You know how many promotional balls and meetings we have to do while we're out there? We will be flying every week, plus, this is strictly business."

"Business, shmissness. This is literally the best opportunity any girl could wish for. I wonder what his brothers are like-"

"Gorgeous!" Paul yelled. He pulled out his phone and was typing on it for a while before showing us a photo of the Harrison family.

"From what I remember, the girl on the left is Isabella, you see the cute brunette with the short hair cut? And next to her is Elizabeth." I stared in awe. They were gorgeous, beyond gorgeous even. Isabella's short bob complimented her innocent facial features beautifully, and her dark yet subtle eye make up made her blue eyes stand out tremendously.

Elizabeth showed more of an athletic body shape rather than a voluptuous one, like her sister. She stood at least four inches taller than Isabella. Her light brown curls were pinned up into a messy bun that no woman I knew could execute as perfectly as her.

Sebastian stood behind Elizabeth and Isabella, with his two brothers on each side.

"The dirty blonde one, on Sebastian's right is Patrick. He's the oldest." Paul said. As usual, the Harrison child was cover model status. His dirty blonde hair was combed neatly to the side, and his smile showed two perfect rows of pearly white teeth.

My attention slowly drew away from Patrick and onto the man standing on Sebastian's left. I pointed to him on Paul's phone. "Um, who's that again?" I asked.

"Him? That's William. The second oldest."

Dear God in heaven.

Even though all three of the boys were extremely attractive, William stood out the most to me. Unlike his brothers, soft black curls were nestled on top of his head, with one perfect curl hanging down, stopping just below his perfect set of eyebrows. He had his fathers emerald eyes, but the contrast between them and his black hair was unbelievable. His smile could compete with Patrick's, which was saying a lot considering his was flawless. William stood about two inches taller than Sebastian, making him an entire foot taller than me.

I could have sworn I was drooling.

"Jesus Christ, it's hard to choose one brother! I'm so jealous of you Leslie!" Beth said. I snapped out of my trance to reply.

"No need, this is strictly business. I'm doing my job."

"If your job was swooning over big Will right there, girl you would have gotten a promotion already." Paul said, smiling deviously. I felt my face getting hot with embarrassment.

"As if. If Sebastian's siblings are anything like him, I don't want anything to do with them. I already have to deal with one Harrison and I could barely do that for a couple of hours. The day he visits I'm labeled as some sort of whore."

"No you're not. They just think that...you know...you were having a very friendly interaction with him."

"Gee, thanks for making me feel better Paul." He laughed as I threw a pillow at him from the couch.

"Anyway, Les. I think we should all share a goodbye drink before you go." Beth said.

"Oh! Yes!" Paul yelled. They both jot up towards the kitchen and opened the top cabinet that contained our alcohol.

"No, no I'm not drinking." I replied, which was no use since they were engrossed in a conversation about what drink they should grab. I rolled my eyes.

As they were in the kitchen, I reached for Paul's phone which was still on the photo of the Harrison kids, and couldn't help myself from staring at William once again.
