AUTHOR'S POV The door of the luxurious penthouse apartment swung open as Ivan, his tired figure, stepped inside. "Ember," he called out, only to be met with darkness within his apartment. Slipping his hand into his pants pocket, he retrieved a flashlight and switched it on. "Ember, why are the lights off?" he inquired as he made his way to the house's switchboard. Suddenly, his shoe landed on a broken vase, catching him by surprise. He looked down and his eyes widened at the sight of the shattered pieces. Hurriedly, he turned on every light in the house.
