Chapter fifty five

Emily's POV

"Thanks for accepting my request" He says, looking at me. He gives me a weak smile. His face is worn out with age and his eyes are a contrasting darker shade of gray paired with unbelievably long lashes which causes an irresistible resemblance to his son.

"It's nothing..sir" The words feel heavy on my mouth as I stare at the man in disdain.

"I haven't still gotten your name yet" He says, looking at me as he takes a sip of his coffee while I look down at mine, still untouched.

"My name is Emily,sir" I say, quickly introducing myself.

"It's nice to meet you Emily,please call me Chris" He says and I give him a small smile, making a mental note to myself that there's no way I'm ever calling him Chris even though he doesn't deserve the respect I address him with.

"I know you must be wondering why I stopped you and brought you here. I'm sure my son must have told you everything by now but there are a few things he isn't aware of and I need your help" He says and I remain si
