Chapter 5

Mari has a lot of papers to check in her table when she hears a commotion outside her office. She creased her forehead, annoyed and stood up, walking towards her door.

She opened it and she found Yin and her secretary, almost killing each other. She was shocked when Harvey punched Yin in the face.

"I told you many times, Mr. Montero, that the young Miss doesn't want to see you either visit her office!" Harvey growled, angry.

"And I told you, I will be seeing her with or without your consent! Who are you? She's not your girlfriend!"

"She wasn't my girlfriend and never will be but I have to warn you, Mr. Montero..." Harvey sharply eyed him. "Don't mess with the young Sandoval." He warned.

Mari interrupted both of them. "What the hell are you doing here, Mr. Montero? Should I ban you in my company? File a restraining order?" She asks, raising a brow at him.

Yin releases Harvey but before that, he pushes him which makes him stumble and slam on the ground.

"I'm not yet done with you, asshole," coldly, he blurted.

He faced Mari with a cold and dangerous look. His expression was still mad and vicious.

"Talking about yourself," Harvey scoffed.

Yin was about to punch Harvey again but Mari appeared in front of him; to cover him.

"Go on, hit me, instead!" She shouted. "Go ahead, hit me!"

Yin's hand was trembling, his looks were dangerous.

"So, you're defending him?" His voice was stern. "Alright, yeah. You'll protect him." He scoffed, flashing his sarcastic smirk.

Mari raised a brow at him. "Oh? What's up to you if I defend him? Of course, he's my secretary!" She laughed, sarcastically. "He's under my company, I am her boss and it's normal for me to defend my employee—" he cut her off.

"Well, you must have lost your memory..." He uttered, seriously. "...but at least try to remember me." Yin continued. "I'm not the type of man you cannot afford to forget." He added, meaningfully.

Mari was confused; she creased her forehead. "You're just talking nonsense, get out of my office," she shoo him away. "Don't ever... don't ever come here when you're just picking up a fight in my office." Coldly, she added.

It breaks Yin Hanzo. It tears him apart. He gasps, his jaw clench, he crumpled his fists.

"You hate me that much, don't you?" He asks, seriously.

Mari stilled. She remains silent. Hayes answered his question, precisely.

"She hates you to the core, idiot."

"Am I talking to you? Don't interfere, you know nothing." Yin blurted, dangerously.

She faced her secretary—Harvey, and shook her head; motioning him not to interfere before glancing at Yin.

She heaved a sigh; looked at him coldly. "I hate you so much, Yin Hanzo Montero. I don't know why I hate you... but because of what I've seen a while ago? I shouldn't talk to you; I shouldn't be close to you!" She said, expressionless.

"You're just an obsessed, crazy creature who is always getting into my nerves." Mari added.

Yin wiped the blood on the side of his lips with his hand before putting it in his pocket.

"That's the reason why I keep on appearing in your office..." Yin uttered. "Because I want your mind to remember me. And if you're annoyed with me, just hit me, instead of driving me away."

Mari shook her head. "You're insane... maybe you need a psychiatrist." Her voice filled with sarcasm.

Yin crumpled his fists even more inside his pocket. He swallowed a lump in his throat, gritted his teeth and he's just restraining himself not to burst out his emotions.

"Maybe I need a psychiatrist..." He mumbled, coldly. "... but you're the only person who can cure my insanity. You know nothing—"

"Yes, I don't know anything about you but you kept on pestering me!" Mari hissed with a knitted forehead. "I don't know who you are. You just invest in our company and then you are annoying me!" Mari was deeply mad.

"— forget it. Maybe I should... distance myself from you. Sorry, it's crazy; I'm crazy forgetting the person I left just for the sake of her safety." He added, meaningfully.

Yin walked out of Mari's office, leaving her, clueless. When he reached his car, he cursed nonchalantly. He even punch the steering wheel and held his head like a crazy persona.

However, Mari's mouth parted a bit; she didn't expect that to happen. She felt her head aching but she just ignore it and just faced her secretary.

"Are you... alright?" She asks.

Harvey nod his head. "You. How about you? Does your head hurts?" His tone panicked yet he made it calm.

"I'm fine, Harvey. But thank you for depending me." She mumbled. "You shouldn't done that. You shouldn't punch him."

Harvey's face turns serious. "It's my pleasure to do that, young Miss. If your brother is here, he'll do the same what I did on that despicable guy."

Mari shook her head. "Can you leave my office, Harvey? Then, just take care of yourself. I want to be alone right now."

Harvey nod his head before walking out of the office.

Mari walked towards her swivel chair, rested her head on the back rest and massages her temple.

Upon reminiscing the words that Yin have told earlier, she felt her heart thumped but her head hurts.

"You should go away, Yin. I don't want to see your face, ever again."

That morning, she didn't make a fuss. Instead, she signed papers and sunk herself in her office. She also ordered her employees not to barge in her office without further consent.

She rested her back on the swivel chair, closing her eyes then opening it again.

She was really annoyed. Stressed also. Her inner peace feels so distracted that she couldn't work properly. At lunch, someone knocked on her office door but she ignored it. She just works her ass off and focuses herself on the company.

In spite of looking for an architect and engineer, she really knows that Yin Montero is the best architect and engineer in town. Nevertheless, his company is the most recommendable in all the architectural and engineering companies.

"I'm stuck with you if I approve you to do my company extension..." she whispered. "I am just afraid that you will be the one to do that..." Mari added so much anticipation.
